Thanks for all your hard work for all these gatherings, Yukari, they won't be the same without you.

....and that makes this senior captain feel older....but another thank you to Yukari! There's a number of really great people I met because of the Bleach gathering.

Yukari, thanks for organizing the gatherings C:  You're one of the best organizers when I participate in cosplay gatherings.

aww thanks you guys - hearing all of this makes me happy that I put in all the work to run the meetup for the past 5 years :) LOVE YOU GUYS <3 who knows, I still might show up to the gathering as a regular attendee ;D

@ Yukari: Though I am sad to see you step down, I understand why since I too am a long time organizer. Thank you for all your hard work the last 5 years. You have been totally awesome to work with and I would love to do it again! :)

It's been nothing but a pleasure to work with you, B :) its been fantastic to see the gatherings go from something just organizied on the forums to something officially recognized by the con, much thanks to you and your staff. funny enough I was actually going to co-host a different series gathering for next year, but I got beaten to the punch for it XD hopefully in the future we can work together again (or maybe one year ill decided to join your staff team! :D)

Will totally be making a return to the gathering! Even though it was a small turnout this year, I still had a ton of fun.

At this point I have no idea who I'll be coming as - I'll have both my Yukimura and my Mori cosplays, but its possible I might have Sasuke done too. For now put me down as Yukimura =D

if you can find a wig that has heat resistant fibers, you could use curling iron on a medium to low setting to get those curls in the front. BUT ONLY if it says that the wig is heat resistant - otherwise you'll end up melting the fibers of your wig.

the difficulty of style depends on the character you're doing - Meroko's looks pretty simple so I don't think it would be too hard for a beginner to do =)

Yukari - THANK YOU for all your hard work running the Bleach gatherings for these past years. I think yours was the first gathering I ever attended at Fanime, and it definitely set a positive and welcoming tone for the whole con back then. <3

(And while I didn't do Bleach this year, it was still great to see people!  Minazuki enjoyed pretending to be captain of Fourth, though at this point I don't foresee coming back to Bleach next year -- and Minazuki will relax and and enjoy con in the hotel room. XD He's earned it!)

what I was surprised at was that there was an actual time limit for our spot - I was not made aware of this, and the official staff photographer who showed up at the gathering to take the big group photo was telling me we had to be out of the Hilton-side fountains spot by 12 (we started at 11:30). For a gathering of Bleach's size, half an hour is barely enough time to get all the group photos in. Was there an actual time limit for gathering spots this year?

I would just like to say thank you guys for making the gathering another great success this year. I wasn't entirely sure of how the turnout would be to be honest, but I'm glad people still show strong interest in the series. I also apologize for the gathering being so short - I wasn't aware that we were on a time limit so apparently we only had half an hour to do all the photos (which I think frankly for a gathering of our size is hardly enough), so I tried to do generic shots that included everyone.


I'd now like to take the time now though to inform you all that I will be stepping down from my post as Bleach gathering organizer and Fanime 2011's Bleach gathering was the last time I would be hosting. I've been running the gathering for 5 years since 2007, which for the same single person to host is quite a long time. I am so incredibly thankful to you guys for letting me host each year and for bringing your enthusiasm and your love for the series to the gathering - otherwise I would not have kept doing it for as long as I have. Again I thank you all for coming year after year - its you guys that really make this gathering such a success :)

hey guys I've got the list updated - I apologize for being MIA. Been trying to get two armor-intensive Basara costumes done in time for the con (and its already looking like I probably wont finish one of the sets -SO MUCH CORDING DX). But I'm looking forward to seeing all the familiar Bleach buddies as well as all the new guys. Dunno if I'll have time to update the thread before the con, but I'll try to before I head down on Day Zero.

Saturday at 2 sounds perfect to me C: won't be in Mori though - instead I'll be coming as Yukimura with a complete Kai family (Sasuke and a chibi-Shingen C: ). I can't wait, I'm so excited!

Also in case any of you hadn't heard, Masquerade is being held on Sunday this year instead of Saturday (so much for scheduling to not be on the same day again lol). I don't forsee there being any conflicts with the time, but seeing as how our time is now locked in for the gathering I hope this doesn't throw a wrench into anyone's plans.

I've actually messaged Saphire and requested it changed to 11:30. Intially went with 11 because thats what we had been penciled in for, but realized it'd probably be better if we started half an hour later.

list is updated, and I've sent BSaphire our confirmation for 11 AM on SUNDAY by the fountains, Hilton side.

Bad: No Captain Mom for me this year.  You can blame my lieutenant for this development -- Shokora and I will both be occupied with the Hetalia gathering Sunday morning.

Good: Minazuki will be coming to Fanime with me, and may still attend the gathering. XD

aww bummer we won't be having you guys join us :< totally understandable though. Hope to still see Minazauki! :3
