More ideas:
-Wireless room and Laptop Network
A room dedicated for wireless gaming (and Pictochat stuff) for the DS, PSP (non-stop Lumines), and laptop plug-in. People bring laptops everywhere they go, even just to show off their desktops and iTunes collection. This place can also be where you can recharge said devices.

-Fanime Food Court
Have a seperate area/aisle in the dealers room solely for food dealers. (Bad idea, cuz the SJCC may lose customers...)

-RC Race Track
Make a piece of the SJCC into a large race track for RC or slot cars (a pretty good idea if you ask me). Remember that old anime store at the Great Mall? Kinda like that, but with also a free roam race track for RC hobby cars (like what I saw at the San Jose Grand Prix).

-Initial D Cosplay Drifting
For those Initial D shopping cart cosplayers, have your own track to race in, like around the fountain or something. Potentially dangerous, but seriously fun to watch.

-Pimp My Costume
Just like the show, but for cosplay.

Anyone know this game character? If not, well... erm...well shes one of my favorite characters y'know! Good luck guessing! Kudos!

No idea cuz it's a broken pic link.

Here's a potentially easy one (sorry I had to find a source where the name wasn't the file name ^_^,):

Hotel and Facilities / How was your hotel stay?(2005)

I got a room in the Hilton on the third floor, so going downstairs was no trip whatsoever! ^^

It was for me, cuz some stairs and doors were emergency exits going one way and regular entrances the other way. Going to the room was easy, going down was tiring, I had to go all the way to the end of the floor to use a non-emergency exit door.

General Anime Chat / Which Anime Character are you?
« on: September 19, 2005, 01:37:22 PM »
For me, maybe Takumi Fujiwara from Initial D.
Quiet guy, but a super street racer underneath. Not that I actually race cars on the street, but in the arcade. I drive an old car, a '93 Honda Civic, but I still love that car, even though I'm thinking about that new 2006 Civic.

(My) Ideas for events/panels/etc...

-Open stage
Since there are a lot of performers out there (music, cosplay, acting, and others) and Der Cosplay and MusicFest may be too big of a stage for their performance, let's make 1 or 2 small stages out in the open that's available anytime for on-stage performances. There can be signups to 'rent' the stage for a specific time and show.

-Fanime Safari
If FanimeCon is your first time at a convention, you will be overwhelmed when you enter. How about having a tour of the con? A group of around 10 would follow a 'tour guide' around the facility and teach them the ways of a con (the tour starts every hour   ). To make sure the tourists don't escape into the wild, there would be free gifts at the end of the tour.

-Fanime Public Radio
(I kinda said something about this during 2004's Nami Tamaki music loops over the PA system, but I seems like there's no need for this now. But anyways...)
If you want to request a song, give a shout out to, leave messages, announce your arrival, etc... you can have limited access to the convention center's PA system, just like a radio station. There might also be contests and prizes for those that listen. (It's also a better way to get attention if there are changes to the schedule or room assignments)

I have more, but I can't really put them into words yet.

General Convention Discussion / Fanime '07 Promises
« on: June 21, 2005, 11:04:48 PM »
I promise to
-get better tape for my Gendo: Pimp cosplay beard (it kept falling off)
-wear the right color pants for said cosplay (dark blue instead of black)
-keep the hotel room clean and organized
-wear better shoes for walking
-not play DDR on Thursday night and get worn out even before FC officially started
-sit down and rest from time to time instead of walking around aimlessly
-record the Indy 500 at home so I don't have to watch it in the hotel room during Fanime
-not bring a video camera backstage during DerCosplay so I don't have to worry about it
-go to the AMV contest
-go outside the confines of the convention center/auditorium area at least once

Gaming / No-Limit FanimeCon Hold-Em Poker
« on: May 17, 2005, 08:26:24 AM »
If we compete for prizes, and cuz real tournament hold-em is an elimination game, it's not considered gambling. I guess it might be ok...

Yeah. DVDs, CDs, iPods, MP3s...

That's SO 2005.

Oh, wait...

Panels and Workshops / [idea] Iron Chef cooking compettition!

If this happens, I wanna be the Iron Chef. I can face any challenger. :)

Iron Chef Otaku.  That's so me. I love cooking improv.

I guess you don't need a costume, as long as you have a poker face (or at least sunglasses).

My brother says that if this is gonna happen, it's gonna be at tabletop gaming. So forget tapping and attacking, it's all about flushes and bluffing.

 8)  "hm...pocket aces..."

Still, I don't encourage actual "gambling", but it's more fun that way. Maybe we need an ID check or something.

General Convention Discussion / The Horrifying Truth about GLOMPING
« on: May 02, 2005, 10:08:05 AM »
I'm OK ... now.
No need to worry. Just don't glomp tackle or anything to me right now.

Occasional glomping (esp. at anime cons) is ok and perhaps, is encouraged.
But too much of it...well...

I say it depends. Sometimes the cosplay events turn out to be not even worth your showing up...no offense to anyone who has participated.

I guess you're the only one who picked "no" on the poll, hmm?

I don't encourage gambling, but maybe we can hold a (cosplay) poker tournament with play chips. You can redeem those chips for prizes. We could play with chips for no reason, but as me and my brother (Jyunishinsho) says, it's more fun when there's something on the line.

 8)  <-----my poker face

General Convention Discussion / History of Fanime?

Test your knowledge of Fanime Con!

Q1. How many divisions does Fanime have? (trick question)

Q2. The anime music video event is a part of what division?

Q3. How many divisions has the info desk been "transfered" to within the last 4 years?

Q4. What is the total number of staff and volunteers who help out Fanime Con for this year or any year? (another trick question)

Q5. In general the founders of Fanime were memebers of what college anime club?

Q6. What is Fanime con's motto?

Q7. What is Fanime Con's "parent" company.

Q8. What year was it that Fanime first experimented with a 4 day venue?

1) 4, I think. Live Programming, Video Programming, Human Resources, Dealers.

2) AMVs are a combination of Live and Video programming. Live, because they use the same theater as cosplay.

3) Maybe 2? I think it's Human Resources now, or it's own department.

4) The usual big-con attendant-to-staff ratio is around 50/1. If there was 8000 attendants at FC 2004, then there would be around 160 staffers. Just a guess.

5) Foothill College in Los Altos=Foothill Anime. Though other Bay Area clubs had a hand in the first Fanime.

6) "By fans, for fans"

7) Anime Resource Group. Popularly known as ARG, hence the pirates theme.

8 ) Fanime 2k was the first advertised 4-day event. The Thursday before the con is usually for advanced registering, but in 2000, it was considered an actual day. However, only 1 video room was open (it was showing trailers and 1st episodes).
