I wasn't able to get the Hilton like my group and I planned this year, but I managed to book the Hyatt place which is our second choice. I've been to this hotel once back when it was the Crowne Plaza, and was wondering how much has changed since their renovation. Can anyone tell me their experience and if they want to book their again at all?

Last year, my friends and I stayed at the Marriott where we got a junior suite and we loved it. I was wondering if any other hotels offered this service at all?

For the past 2 years, my friends and I have stayed at the Marriott hotel. A year before that we stayed at the Hilton and loved it, but due to some circumstances we couldn't stay at the hotel anymore(Apparently, the air vents weren't cleaned out very well and it was causing problems for my friend who has respiratory problems). So we're willing to give Hilton another shot, because Marriot is getting too expensive and they don't provide as much amenities compared to Hilton. However, my concern is whether anything about the Hilton has changed?

I remember at check-in they didn't charge us a deposit. They just held onto my card number, then when it was time to check out I paid the full amount in cash. When I was at Marriot it was different. Not only did I pay a deposit, but they also had me pay in full at check-in. For anyone who frequently stays at Hilton, especially ones who booked this year, can you tell me if their policies have stayed the same? Because I'm not sure if all hotels are doing the same thing marriot is.

I'm getting a lot of friends who want to room with me this year, so I was wondering if the suites will be available at all? Specifically for the Marriott? I know they're usually reserved for staff members and guests of honor, but will they be open to regular con goers? Otherwise I may have to book two rooms.

Dearest Fanime con goers, please help me with a dilemma. For the past 4 years I have stayed in 3 different hotel rooms. Crown Plaza, Marriot, and Hilton. I no longer go to cons alone, but my roommates tend to be pretty nitpicky when it comes to hotels. Staying at the Hilton has been crossed out, due to some of my friends having respiratory problems from their poor air ventilation. Don't remember much from my experience at Crown Plaza, except the rooms being kinda small so that's out too.

Which leaves Marriot and Fairmont.This year, I was thinking about staying at the Fairmont hotel. The reasons; because it's roomier. Also the B&W Ball is there, so we can get an early place in line. The downside is that it's a few blocks away from the main convention, which requires some walking even at night. Hence, why I try to reserve for Marriot and Hilton because they're directly connected to the con. But the walking isn't that big of a deal, so long as we stick with a buddy system. Our stay at the Marriot was okay, but there have been some issues concerning their deposit policy. Not to mention how expensive it can be, and the lack of room for our stuff. But whenever we were exhausted and needed to dump our things, it was always there.

So if any of you have stayed at both of these hotels, give me a little feedback.

So sorry for the late set up fellow mafiosos! Now that another year has gone, let's make plans for our Katekyo Hitman Reborn gathering!

Update: Since too many gatherings are clashing with our own, we may have to move the time to 2:00 pm and hold our gathering INSIDE the con where the little stages are. I will finalize our schedule by the end of the week so hope everyone can still make it!

Rules for Hot Nappo:

If you're familiar with the game Hot Potato or musical chairs you should be able to understand how the game works. First, all the participants must form a wide circle. Next, one player will be handed a pineapple. Once the music plays, the pineapple is passed down from player to player. Once the music STOPS, the person still holding the pineapple will be booted out from the game. The process is repeated until one person remains.

Haven't seen a thread for this yet. For the cosplay newbies, I think it would be a nice idea to have a panel on how to care/style wigs. There could be a demonstration on how to style a wig in a certain way, what you have to do to keep it in good condition, detangling a wig, the type of tools you need, how to put it on, and what you shouldn't do when handling a wig. I have some wigs, both short and long, which can be used for the demo. My knowledge of wigs is exceptional, but not perfect, and I'm a poor speaker(I still twist my tongue, even at my adult age. D:). Would be nice to have someone with greater knowledge than me to help run it.

 Have you done it before? Is it really all right to sneak in extra roommates into your hotel room, despite the reserve being limited to a party of four? Do you feel like it's cheating the hotel staff? Will it cause a disturbance? Will the hotel not allow it? Or will they just not care, since you're paying for it anyway?

EDIT: And no, I'm not going to be stuffing my own room (better safe than sorry). However, one of my buddiess might bring another person, but that's because her friend has some handicaps which makes it hard to move around by herself. Sorry about that misunderstanding.

HOW DO YOU PLAY HOT NAPPO?: If you're familiar with the game hot potato or musical chairs, you'll get this game just fine. The game begins with of course, a pineapple. All players will form into a giant circle, once the music starts you must pass the pineapple down to the next person. When the music stops, whoever is still holding the pineapple is out and must leave the circle. We then continue with the game once the music starts up again. THERE WILL BE PRIZES!

NOTE: It would be nice if someone could provide music for Hot Nappo. I'm not confident that my speakers will be loud enough to hear when we go outside. If you got a boom box or some loud speakers, please bring them.

UPDATE: HOLY GIOTTO! I just discovered that LM.C, will be coming to Fanime for Musicfest! In case you're not aware who they are, they are the ones who sung the opening songs "BOYS & GIRLS" and "88" for KHR!

Hey everyone, you might remember me as the Hibari from fanime! First of all, I would like to say thank you for coming to our first fanime KHR gathering. It was a surprisingly huge success. Forgive me for being disorganized, it was my first time running a gathering and I didn't know what to do >_<;;. I wasn't expecting so many KHR characters to show up either. Therefore, I hope it will be twice as big as next year! Be on the lookout for updates!

Hey everyone! I'm sure you're all thrilled about fanime and it's gatherings. Therefore, I decided to create my own.

The frist Kateikyoshi Hitman Reborn gathering! Those who are not familiar with it, look it up, because it's a great shounen anime that's starting to become a big hit. Now, anyone planning to come to the gathering dressed as a Reborn character? I'm not too sure on the date, but I'll see to it soon.

Here's mine.

Monday: I entered for prizes on Stage Zero, but I had no idea it would be a dance off!! It was my first one ever and I felt WRONG, VERY WRONG. I can't dance for crap.

Saturday: Nothing too unusual, except my gothic oujisama helped me stood out more than the last couple of years. Thanks to my nifty card parasol, I became quite popular for once.

Sunday: Dressed as Allen Walker from D Gray Man, scared some people on the bus ride to the Con. Played frisbee with Bleach characters and glomped rather painfully. After the convention, while waiting for the bus, a creepy Mexican old guy (I think he might have been drunk) came up to out of the blue and started saying stuff in broken english, like I was pretty and he started holding my hand o_o. Luckily, someone was nearby to save me. Downtown San Jose is creepy at night.

Monday: Dressed as Zombie L. Successfully got sweets from random people. Also met some Naruto cosplayers and hanged out with them. Eventually they started having a little too much fun and had team 7 do a erm...well look for yourself

I'm thinking about using bart to get to fanime. But I'm rather new to it. I'll take the Fremont Bart, but where the heck do I stop at?

I was thinking that there should be a how to wear a kimono panel. Putting on a kimono might be a bit difficult for begginers, so maybe we should have one. Though I don't know anyone who would be able to host it.

Okay, I want to know if there are any Ouran cosplayers coming to Fanime 2007? I will be going as nerdy Haruhi, before she changed her look. Anyone else?

I saw my friend Sean, dressed up as a lolita on Saturday, even though he's a boy. He had fake boobs and everything. O_o. I was randomly glomped by a purple haired girl. I kept getting hugged by the same person. On monday I was repeatedly getting hugged by three girls, because I was dressed up as L from Death note(And a Zombie L FYI). During the Naruto gathering an Ebisu cosplayer went face first into my boobs, when I pretended to flash her. I played ninja twister with my friends...and lost. A storm trooper played with the giant snake plushie I carried with me. XD

Kyaaa! Such an honor to meet the wonderful Kamijo-san!! Now, I know tons of you people took pictures with him, so go ahead and post them up!

Saturday:

My first meeting with Kamijo-san! He spoke such cute english! See the little doll I'm holding? It actually belongs to my friend, but he let me borrow it for awhile. If you look closely, you can see a green box on the doll's lap, which is actually a present for Kamijo-san! When I presented it to him, Kamijo nearly took the doll too, but then realized the box was his gift! It was so cute!!!

There's to be a special dinner with Lareine's lead singer Kamijo-san. Much to a whole bunch of people's disappointment, there will be an auction for the six slots available for the dinner with Kamijo. Does anyone have any clue where this is being auctioned?

So, how about another dollfie panel this year for 2008? This year I will finally have my girl ready for the convention. We need someone to help run this panel, since I'm still not an expert. I could, however, show everyone a live special effect makeup for dollfies. Like on how to make a scar.

I just saw on foxkids that they're gonna dub one piece!!!! Nooooooo!!!! They'll probably butcher it like they did to Shamn King!!!
