Registration / Free Badge for FMVs?
May 04, 2008, 09:43:08 AM
I remember last year that badges were free last year for people who made amvs. Is it true for this year? Cause I haven't pre register yet, and I really would like to know, before I am too late.

Panels and Workshops / Re: How to wear a kimono
April 10, 2008, 06:42:57 PM
I wore a kimono once, but I feel too unfit for it. I think the point of some kimonos is to sit up straight. It was like killin my stomach. This particular kimono came with a sash (I don't know if every one has one) and they tied really tight.

Incredible Stuff I can Make / Re: critique please?
April 10, 2008, 06:22:52 PM
For me the face feels too wide. But thats just me. Even though I like the lineart, It needs to be a little neater. My suggestion is to get an actual picture of the character and to trace it over and over again. Or just look and copy it on another piece of paper. That usually helps so you can memorize whats there. Probably helps with your line art. But most important is practice.

I am struggling with hands, I can do the face fine, sort of. I kind of struggling too. I don't really like to color either. Sometimes, I can't get some things to match the same way as the other side. An example would be the eyes.

Here is my deviant art account if you want to crtique:

The easiest place to actually learn is first using windows movie maker. It does get frustrating, but it easy.

First you need to get your footage. Then you need to get your song. Then you import your song and videos. Then drag the song to the timeline. Then drag a clip in the time line. Then mute it. Then repeat dragging clips in, using a variety of effects. Repeat adding clip until you reach the end of the song. Then save your project and then save your movie file. Then if your uploading to youtube, click next twice, then save it as High Quality video NTSC, and then click next. Then wait for the video to finish. Then upload to youtube. If your submitting it, use  DV -AVI for highest quality or leave it as High quality video NTSC for high quality but smaller disc space.

That is the basic. If you really want to know how to use effect, play around with them. Consult animemusicvideos.org for help.

Once you mastered movie maker, start buying other editing program or use virtual dub and consult this guild:

I even hear that sony vegas is used alot by people. Cause its got layers so you can do different effects, and pletty more effects.

THis reminds me of two kids who decide to play naruto and burry the kid in sand. He died of suffucation.
#28
obviously sony vegas, but I don't really know about those.

I don't live oakland, but I live about an hour away from there. I am actually closer to fanime. I probably wont meet up though.

Eh theres already a smash bro gathering topic, but yea, I would go, if you count some anime games XD. I could also be pit.
#31
Hehehe. I be cosplaying as Sakura, but its from naruto. Ill just wear a black shirt over my head and costume. XD. Ill make alot of paper shurikens, and I don't know about kunai though.
#32
I am going as sakura. No doubt. I am bring my yodanime plushie.

If could know how to sew, I would be either pit or zelda. I just love those two in brawl. But, i have to find away to make my self look like pit, cause I am a girl.

Hi, I am a second time con goer. I usually just go on saturday cause that day where there are alot of people and events, alot there are probably more cosplayers on sunday cause of the anime skits. I didn't have any friend, but this year I might be meeting someone there. But I might bring someone there.

Theres some tips on this board if you need help:

Umm getting kicked out. (unlikely for me though)
Having my nin shoes riped or some costume riped.
A staff that has to come talk to me. I don't like to get in trouble.
Geting dehydrated.
Forgetting your money (I did that once and my friend put a post it note as me for being forgetful)
On Hugglalot's comment letter a. except if its on my 2nd-3rd day.
You amv goes wrong and never get in on time.

If I started to get white hair, I start cosplaying as chiyo from Naruto. I mean she old and awsome. She controls puppets, and can do medical stuff. Too bad shes dead.

I am a second time Fanime goer this year. Here are my tips:

One follow the rules of fanime. Really or else they get to you. Don't bring signs unless It doesn't really bring to much akward attentions

Two bring lots of money, cause they have a huge dealer's room. Bigger than any in the Bay area. (of course, cause its the biggest con in the bay area).

Three, beware of fangirls or people who randomly glomp you.

Four, bring pleaty of water or you will dehydrate because u will be walking alot. Even eat too.

Five, Please bath so people wont get sick from you. Even though you are sick, you may have something that some else can get really sick from.

Six, Plushie really attrach people and make you popular. Bring your plushies.

Seven, Bring your camera. It fun when you share memories with other that didn't go.

Eight, of course bring a backpack to put everything in. You will drop alot of things

Nine, print out schedules on your computer couple days before the con, plan your day out, and put em on a clipboard. It will help, cause you may miss out on somethings if you don't really plan ahead.

Ten, if your talented at something thats anime related, bring it with you. People will like you. Make sure that its an anime everyone knows about.

Eleven, if you see something that related to what you like go for it. Whether its gatherings, or shopping. Although, I reccommend going to a variety of events to make more of your experiences at a con.

Twelve, If anything random goes on such as someone hiding behind your back, video tape it.

Thirteen, Pre register always. Last year the line was huge, but if your amvist, you can get it faster. I am in fact an amvist. Last year, I got in with a free badge, but I am not sure about this year.

Fourteen, always cosplay. Its part of the fun at anime cons. Even though your not part of a contest, you can still do alot of things. It does not have to be anime related, but I don't reccommend everyone to nonanime cosplay. You can even be elmo to scare everyone off.

And lastly fifteen, Have Fun!!

Nope. I can't miss school for day one. I may miss something important because right after fanime is finals. But on the other hand I think if you make an amv you get in for free.

Quote from: "milkmandan"i did see a naruto video...dont remember the song though..
SO many videos made it into the Finals that I cannot remember all of them -_-

I saw one too.  It looked like filler episodes were use mostly. Thats the one I saw.
