General Anime Chat / If ur going to japan town CON
September 12, 2003, 10:32:58 PM
I'll be cosplaying as a Blacksmith from Ragnarok Online. Since I was sick all day today, I didn't even finish the costume(The gloves on Saturday will be really half-assed because I don't have time in the morning to sew them or even glue them together properly, so we'll use the wonder of safety pins!), but I'll still wear it.

MFA was definitely worth my $5!(I didn't see bebop. It was worth my $15 for the first year, it was more expensive then...and I only went to one day of it, and it was the day where not all the fun was. if that makes sense. ^^;) You should go this year, Aiko(or wen, as you are known here. ^^). GO WITH ME!! GO WITH ME!! :D

I totally forgot about MFA~! Yay, two more chances to cosplay before Fanime! Well, three if you include cosplay party at halloween. Cosplaying is so fun and I want more chances to do it. ^^

As for JTAF...I'll DEFINITELY be there! I've started my costume for it, too. I'm really sad that my Lum costume didn't work out at Fanime(I had wig problems. I plan on doing Lum sometime in the future, such as Halloween or something, but I'm undecided right now ^^)...But I'm starting new and doing an Acolyte from Ragnarok Online. I just need some fabric for the skirt, gold lining, a bit of fabric for the belt, tights, and a pattern. Yay!

Panels and Workshops / How To Sew/Cosplay Panel
March 30, 2003, 06:54:37 PM
Actually, about a fourth of my clothes are clothes I either edited from clothes(such as making a shirt from a skirt, or vice versa, or skirt from pants), or that I made from stratch.

Panels and Workshops / How To Sew/Cosplay Panel

If this panel goes through and you need more sewing machines, I have one I can lend out for the panel. The only thing is, mine is VERY VERY basic. No fancy stitches. straight stitching but you can change the width and tightness, go backwards...Easy stuff. However, that's probably best for people just learning right?^^;; And it's all you really need.

However, I am too much of a beginner to host any sort of panel like this. It sounds like this panel has lots of potential of someone will host it, and if they could do a good job. Like astroboy said, there are a lot of people wanting to cosplay but don't know how to sew(it IS tricky)
