Processing registration is the same as checking in right? I'm just reading what is in the Swap Meet Rules and want to reconfirm.

Last year (or was it the year before? I forgot), I brought in a suitcase with two wheels on the bottom. Am I not allowed to this year? I just saw this:
QuoteAll displays must be crafted out of the cardboard boxes / plastic boxes you bring your goods in
so I figured I'd ask. Last time I sold stuff, I used the suitcase to hold my manga to show the spines.

For others: Anyone want to split a space with me? I don't need the full space and if someone else also doesn't need the full space but still wants to sell stuff, let me know via PM, in this thread, or via email (redroses3164ATgmailDOTcom). :]

A tad late on posting but I'll see everyone there! Have an awesome Fanime time folks~

(the op post will be updated in a minute or two despite being...fairly late in the game haha)

List updated.
I'm trying to find my portable speakers to attach my phone. I was thinking of playing the OST and singles while the gathering is happening but I cannot find them for the life of me.

@chibibuie: Sorry. I just picked Saturday since it was like last year's gathering.

No idea: redroses3164

I won't be able to go to the gathering this year so you could take me off that list.

I'm looking for a good hoodie pattern. I could examine my own but I don't really understand the hood part.
Before trying to make one, I'd check out some local thrift stores to see if it would be possible to modify one instead.

It's a bit of an odd colored one so I doubt I could find one but it's worth a shot.

A heads up on a spelling mistake, it's melancholy not meloncholy.

Is this gathering on both days or one day now? If so, I can only make the Sunday one (that is if I even finish Mugi on time...crunch time!).

You can cosplay anything you want (as long as it follows the rules of course). It is never exclusively just anime cosplays out there. Elphaba is fine, I would encourage it actually because Wicked is a great place.

The Masquerade is a place where groups perform skits.

I'm quite sorry that I haven't been on in so long. I could go on a long detailed thing but I won't because that's just random personal reasons.

Having it at an earlier time is fine by me. I sent the PM to BS for 3 (for now). If there is objections to this time, we can gladly talk about it. I just wanted to make it official ASAP.

Sorry again everyone!

Awesome, welcome aboard Vensy! Are you cosplaying the normal Yoko outfit?

My Mugi wig arrived and I think I don't make a good blonde. Oh well. I still like Mugi and shall cosplay her anyway:

Oh! *facepalm* I've forgotten the song title. My mistake! haha XD

Fuwa Fuwa? I never heard of that. I assumed it was an imagined Budokan concert because the fliers in the scene said Budokan. But okay :D

I bought my fabric and white hoop earrings already. All I have left to buy is green shoes and a wig while working on the dress. :)

gah finally on again lol....are u talking about the loli outfits?
Is this question directed at me?

I'm gonna be cosplaying as this one:

Well I ended up picking that imagined Budokan concert outfit (which I dub "retro") over the uniformed one. I took a poll on my Anime Vice blog heh. I didn't really particularly mind which one I would do so I asked others.

What if I buy something for Halloween, but also wear it casually for Fanime? (not for competing)

Well that's fine too. The only thing about Halloween costumes though is that they tend to be very cheaply made and are highly expensive for the materials put into Halloween stuff. I remember browsing a Halloween store before the holiday itself and things cost $35 when it could easily be made with $15 or something. Halloween costumes have really crappy fabric.

I'm almost for certain that I'll be making Mugi's retro concert outfit from episode 6 (first school festival performance with the imagined scenes) if I can't find a good jacket to modify for the uniform one. But since Fanime is so far away, there are no guarantees to that. I could change my mind once again.

I'm wondering how much material/supplies will be to make a prop keytar... I want to hold at least a fake one for Fanime next year hehe.
#78
If next year's gathering doesn't conflict with my other Fanime plans, I'll probably be cosplaying as Mugi. :) Not sure which version yet but I'm leaning towards the retro music looking one from episode 6 (school festival).

You can't find jacquard textile paint offline? Shouldn't your local craft store have it (or off chance maybe a home improvement store)?

I've wanted to get into custom making t-shirts for a long time now though I'm more into the graphic design stuff than text. I'm not clever enough to make a witty t-shirt design like the ones I see online.

The only time I believe it matters when someone buys a costume is if that person tries to enter a contest and pretends that they made it. Other than that, I see no problem buying cosplay outfits because cosplaying is for fun. It's just a hobby after all. Some people are more dedicated to the hobby and make everything under the sun but that shouldn't stop someone from buying/commissioning a costume.
