Hello everyone~!

I know event info for 2011 hasn't been posted yet, but I'm willing to host Pokemon Cafe again this year, to recap all the events in HeartGold, and to celebrate the release of Black/White!!

Just wanted to throw a board out there to see who else is interested, and what requests for events I can get from the forum. Last year I did a casual open-forum event, where the fans just got together in groups and did whatever, but I want to know if anyone wants more of an organized event, tournaments, etc.

so, i'm not incredibly shy when it comes to asking people for dances- but i think it would be really fun to have some forum members meet up at the dance and partner up! i suggest meeting outside the dance itself because it gets really loud in there, but i just think it would be a cool idea :]

plus i loved the B&W ball last year- i think it was such a great and innovative idea. go fanime :D

is there any way the major gatherings on saturday can get spread out a bit more?? D: i don't know if it was completely logical (though it was probably completely random) to schedule the biggest gatherings (bleach, gurren lagann, and Final Fantasy) on the same day, all within half an hour of each other. i know i'll prolly get a lot of /whine flames... but hell, i go to cons to cosplay and show off.

i guess the point of this is, what's the possibility that any of these gatherings will get spread out a bit more, or am i the only one who has this problem??

SO i know everyone's excited about HG/SS (i carry my pokewalker with me on my shoe at all times... hahahahah) so i thought i'd throw out a little advertisement for the Pokemon Cafe panel~ it's centered around players of any of the DS-version games, and intended to help bring together a large group of people for battles, trades, underground exploration (i still haven't gotten my platinum flag!!), poffin-making, and pokeathlon training (i haven't started with the pokeathlon yet, but i'll get to it lol). little prizes will be provided for best poffin and if i have time, probably a tournament based around either beauty competitions or pokeathlons! so come on down to the pokemon cafe and play your heart out :]

(also if i should be advertising elsewhere... please advise me lol)

So, my friends and I decided that we were going to buy groceries instead of eating out. This was a good idea; I spent over $60 at a three-day con; the idea of eating out for five days was a little daunting. So buying groceries is a really good idea, because I spent instead a total of $30 and was able to feed 2-3 people. Plus I brought a rice cooker and a crock pot.

HOWEVER

if you're going to bring your own food, DO NOT BRING RAMEN ONLY. My friend and I ended up getting very, very sick from eating ramen all weekend. I see a lot of "how to eat at Fanime cheap" posts and threads that focus on eating ramen. DON'T DO IT. Ramen has waaay too much salt, and not enough nutrients, to power you through five days of the very physical demands of con.

Suggestion? Bring bread, peanut butter, bananas, jugs of tea and water, and dry cereals. None of these things need to be refrigerated, they have substance, and most importantly, they have nutrition!

Anyone else have food suggestions/horror stories?
