I'm really glad everybody had fun at the gathering or just derping in cosplay! I helped set it up so it's really great that it went so well. I was the Prussia who proposed and it was a wonderful time. If there are pictures, so give links from the gathering so we can share the awesomeness of Hetalia.

Ahh! Afterschool Charisma is an official gathering now. I'm so excited! I'm also pretty darn sure it's the first ASC gathering (in the US at least). =D

I'll be there as clone Freud! :D

Hello~! I have a question for the age requirement of the Masquerade. My girlfriend is going to be in my skit and she's currently 17, but she turns 18 May 25. Do I put her down as 18 in the performer list or as 17?

That's fine. If a person is listed as under 18, I just ask for a Minor Permission form. That's about it :)

It is also used to track people who qualify for the Junior Achivement Award.

Thanks,
Marisa

Okay. Thank you, both of you~

Sadly enough, it turns out that I cannot go to the gathering. D: I have to leave early on Sunday morning. T_T

I agree; definitely a lot of Russia's...but look how many HEROES there are~ there's like, 10. o w o
Haha~ I'm not sure if I should be glad I'm not going as America on Sunday or saddened that I won't be able to hang out with my "twins." XD At least my China cosplay is vaguely unique and not the usual thing everybody sees. LOL I'll feel a LITTLE unique.

lol~ There will always be more Russias than anything-- Russia is too popular to not have three million of. I went to a very small local con about two weeks ago, and keep in mind that where I live, there has never EVER been a con, and there were three Russias. -laughs-

I will be America Saturday (and in the Masquerade, hopefully!) and China Sunday. Not military uniform China or the usual casual China, but based off of http://aph.starry-sky.com/files/kan_kan2.gif there. :3

I have a GIANT America flag that I might bring. It's really big, like, it's a parade flag, and I use it for a blanket and it's still got plenty of room, so I might bring it... Maybe... I really don't want it ruined.

Yeah! I'm going to be going as China (The China from http://aph.starry-sky.com/files/kan_kan2.gif there specifically) on the day of the Hetalia gathering. Don't know where it is? It's at noon on Sunday in front of the building on the right side of the fountain (I THINK, don't kill me if I'm wrong! T_T). But, back to what I was trying to do.

I want to gather as many Asian nation cosplayers (Hong Kong, you can come too!) as possible. I'm making a cosplay video, and it requires Asian nations, but I'm the only Asian nation cosplayer of my group going to Fanime. >_>; It doesn't matter if there are repeats, like, four Japans, I don't care. Any Asian nation who wants to join me is more than welcome.

My idea probably isn't wise to divulge, considering there isn't one out there (in cosplay, at any rate, haha!), but I should tell those who think of coming... others, please, please, please don't take this idea and make your own. Thank you! I'm going to do a cosplay video with China singing "Lesson Number One" from Mulan (Two?), and for the kids in the background and such, I'd like the Asian nations. :3

Ah, I'm pretty open to almost any time that day, though the earlier the better. I'm not sure what time I will have to leave, but I'm assuming it isn't going to be later than 6 PM, maximum, so, if it's alright with anybody who cares to join, can we possibly meet at, say, 9AM or 10AM? We could go anywhere for this (within reason), so just give me suggestions. If you know a place, do tell me, or a time that would fit, tell that too. But it HAS to be Sunday. I'm going to cosplay America Saturday, and Sasori or Hidan on Friday, and I just won't be there Thursday. If I have enough people (which really means three at the least), I will be happy. Thank you for at least thinking it over, and I hope to hear from some people!!

Have a good day, aru!

I'm going to be cosplaying China from Axis Powers Hetalia, and I'm wondering if his wok and ladle thing is alright. They're basic items and have NO sharp edges at all, but they are made of metal. Are they alright? The wok is a little over a foot wide in the actual round part and the ladle, I believe, is somewhere between one and two feet (I don't have it yet, but that's the one I want to get).

If they aren't okay because they're metal, can I put something on the edges of the wok and the ladle so it's soft and even duller to make it safer?

Here's a picture to show what it's going to be. China is the one on the left with the wok and ladle, obviously, but... yeah. And no, I don't plan on beating people up with them like China. LOL I'm sorry they're chibi in the picture-- it's the only way you see both items in the anime.

Thank you~

You can enter craftsmanship as a walk-on. No need to do a skit unless you want to do one.  (Although without a skit, you're unlikely to win for performance, and it probably does lower the chances of a grand prize.)

If you received help on the costume, it can still qualify for craftsmanship, but please, please, please let the judges know what you did and did not do on your own.  It is highly probable that if you present a costume that you did not entirely make and therefore can't explain how you made certain parts to the judges that they will assume that it was entirely bought (and therefore not eligible for craftsmanship) if you don't  let them know that the reason, for instance, that you can't explain how the tunic was made was that your Mom made it.  Parts of the costume made entirely by people not in the group, I believe, are not eligible for craftsmanship judging, but you can be judged on the parts that you did make.

Okay. Thank you, I appreciate it. :3

Assuming I am reading correctly, it seems fine to me. Your mom was a resource and told you what you needed to do, but as long as you did the actual work itself, it still counts as made by you. You may have been told how it was to be done, but it was up to you to interpret those instructions and execute them.

Many people go on line to find out how to do something, others follow tutorials in books, or go to friends or family who may have creative knowledge (the aunt who quilts, etc). You went to Mom..that's not horribly different, I'd think :).  Essentially, it's still you that did the work to take that advice and make it into a garment :)

Yeah. =] Thank you for that.

Hi. :]

I plan on entering a costume for craftsmanship, but I don't quite understand something. It said I use the same name and such as from the Masquerade, but I don't have the ability to do a skit due to the fact that my friends who were to do it with me may not be able to come. So, I was wondering, how does craftsmanship registration work? Do I have to be in a skit to try and enter my costume, because if so, I won't be able to.

Also, regarding the costume itself-- I had a little bit of help making it. I'm eighteen, but I still had my mother help me (^-^;; Nothing mothers can't do, eh?) by telling me how to do it, but I did the actual sewing and such by myself. Does that still count as made by me? I don't want to get disqualified for not knowing... >__>;

Thank you, whoever chooses to help me out. I appreciate it.
