General Convention Discussion / Attenance Numbers
June 03, 2015, 08:37:01 AM
When people ask me how many people go to Fanime, I tell them "around 40,000". Is my guesstimation anywhere near accurate?

I know there are many ways to look at numbers:
- How many are actually Clockwork Academy attendees
- People who buy badges more than once (like on Friday and then on Sunday)
- People who don't buy badges

Can someone shed some light here beyond the cookie cutter response in the past that used to be, "no way to know"?

Registration / Attendance Count
July 06, 2012, 04:04:29 PM
I have been wondering how many people go to Fanime (and how many registrations). I think somebody said that the number doesn't get released until the following year's Fanime, but I still don't know how many attendees or registrations there were for 2011. Does the public get to know or is this insider-information?

Registration / Fanime date on hotel page
January 15, 2011, 12:20:50 AM
So is it May 27-30 or 28-31? I'm guessing it's going to be what it always was: Friday to Monday, but just want to make sure I booked my hotel for the right days. See the inconsistencies below?

I found out about this gathering at UC Davis from the cosplay.com forum and thought you guys would be interested too. I'm very excited about this gathering since I graduated from here and know the place well. Hope posting this here is appropriate.

Date: TBA (likely late March or some time April)
Location: UC Davis Arboretum

Since the event is outdoors at a public place, the first thing that comes to my mind is a LACK OF WEAPONS POLICY! You get to be respected like an adult and be responsible for your own actions, assuming that you are an adult. Bring your "LIVE" steel and cool-looking weapons and don't do anything stupid.  ;) Pray that it won't rain (it's raining right now).

Ideas and Suggestions / Check-in
March 02, 2009, 10:06:26 PM
Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but how about a place where people can check in or out their personal belongings? For example, if I'm carrying five costumes and some props, I can take some to the check-in desk and have it stored for me until I need to get it again. I'm kind of assuming that there aren't lockers for us to use there. Yes, and some people aren't doing the hotel deal.  ;)

Dealers Room / Do Dealers Accept Credit Cards?
December 22, 2008, 06:36:18 PM
Just wondering... do dealers generally accept credit cards there? I hate carrying cash.
