Ideas and Suggestions / Re: A fanime Iphone/Android app?
December 18, 2010, 02:18:42 AM
hmm,  I think the chat would be good to contact the con ops or the lost and found rather than calling and also good for those who are in the artist area selling their art work but besides that, I think people will be paying attention to whats happening around them....I HOPE. I don't mind if we have a chat or not.
Anyways, I am working on one of both designs for both handy device system. I'm going to do the basic features first and then add on some extra stuff. It will be an interesting project to work with both devices and I hope to make it free for everyone!

I guess I'm off the hook! *runs*

Are you guys going to hire somebody to design and program this app or is somebody from the staff going to do it?

a rover app sounds cool, it would prob help the rover be more organize? The rovers seems to be doing well.

I'm not sure how to install an android app but I can find a way to upload it and let you test it!

I downloaded animeexpo's app and it's ok. I really that if you pick an event from the exhibit, it will put a mark on the room it's in and the nearby tells you how many miles a store is.  It cost 1.99 tho.

So far for the app I have:

Twitter update
Schedule *with search* + alarm clock??
IRC chat
Map
Nearby food/stores
games of some sort.

I think I'll include maybe easter eggs....

I did a test on both the android and iPhone and I can get update from fanimecon's twitter. I am also going to add a SQLite data with all the scheduling from the pocket guide (I'm gonna use last's year data as an example). You will be able to search for anything in this schedule. What else would you like to see? I'll try to draw out the app's design and I will try to make the app non phone biast, although I don't have an android to test it on. I will also download comiccon's app and see what they did with theirs. If you have any question or suggestion, feel free to ask. Thank you!

I guess I'll start with the "easy" stuff like the twitter updates. I am looking into it for both the Android and iPhone.

I heard from a friend of mine that a iPhone app is already in the making. I haven't heard anything for the android. I admit that I am more experience with the iPhone since I have an iPhone but I think can do a fanime app for the android if there isn't one. I just need a victim....I mean a tester.

Ideas and Suggestions / A fanime Iphone/Android app?

I'm a programmer and I was thinking of making a fanime iphone/android app. In this app would be information about the con, a map with GPS, a game (in which you have to visit panels or get as many people with iphone/android), and other things. I'm open to suggestions. I'm still not sure if I do want to do it or if it's a good idea or not. What do you guys think?

(please leave the whole iphone vs android argument else where!! I think both phones are great)

I wonder if it's going to be like the live action japanese version. That means Mello and Near will be cut out which cuts out the author message "two minds are better than one".

heh if Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) was still young they would prob cast him as Near.

Well,  Rachmaninoff is from an Anime, Nodame, so at least that would count?
#34
Daniel Radcliffe as Light, Johnny Depp as L, Megan Fox as Misa in....THE DEATH NOTE.

sooooo bad.  :D

yes, because I don't like beer...

Why do people brake up over stupid reasons?

Several components in chocolate have been linked to mood and potential "aphrodisiac" effects. First on the list of "love drugs" is phenyl-ethylamine (PEA), which also occurs naturally in the brain. PEA naturally reaches peak levels during ?r?asm, and administering PEA increases dopamine levels, stimulating the pleasure centers. PEA is chemically similar to amphetamine (leading to its nickname "chocolate amphetamine")

Interesting indeed.

Do you love chocolate? @_@

Piccahoe - classical stuff is great, only concern is V. Waltz and if dancers can hear the beat.  Yes I know this year's BWBall it was hard to hear the beat regardless, :P but we will be remedying that for next year.  Back at One is a good suggestion.

hmm yesh, but don't people prefer lyrical music? And the beat is hard to hear...but we can blast the music louder than so people can hear it >=)...just kidding

I hate reading subtitle while listening to anything japanese because it confuse me so much. The structure of the japanese language seem to be really different from the English language.
