Okay, so interesting thing I heard from my college and Fanime buddy. One of my old college friends, who also happens to be a rover for Fanime, is now training officially for UFC as a fighter. He was given a match and guess who his opponent was?

One of the protesters.  And they recognized each other.

So while the protester guy is mouthing off on how his crew wants to get rid of Fanime, my other friend is just pumped to beat him (legally of course). I have yet to hear the outcome of the match.

Wearing flashy costumes makes you a sinner, yet beating the snot out of someone for sport is a-okay?

I don't remember learning this at my Church's Sunday school. Goes to show that some people don't really do things in the name of their faith, but for selfish personal reasons.

Holy crap! is there a video of this? I wanna see the protester get the crap beat out of him.

and how stupid is the protester, I highly doubt that San Jose will get rid of Fanime just cuz some small christian group protest. San Jose makes lots of money because of Fanime, with all the fanime goers buying food and other things. These protesters are just dumb sometimes, Fanime helps local business!!! (I know I love that little cake shop right next to the fairmont, expensive but oh so worth it!!!)

I agree. It would be nice to hear rapping about Inuyasha or Ichigo.

"Yo, I go Hollow up on you're back side.
Mess with me, i'll show you my saiyan pride!
You're Kenpachi cosplay makes me laugh.
My Death the Kid powers will cut you in half!"

Word to you're mother 8)

*waves 2 fingers at you*

>_>

lmao XD awesome. I have to agree with Jirekianu about this, I do see it being VERY awkward when the weeding out process begins but just think about all the great and possible hilarious raps we could hear once we get to the GOOD rappers.

I ran into Chief Pikachu and charlie the charmander while shopping and got a picture with them! also I saw Pedobear molest some random guy. (though I think that probably happened a lot.)

This year I felt like there wasnt much for me to buy I only bought a
Hibi bird pen-$7
American Keychain$7
some kind of cat pin from artist alley-$2
a dango ball from artist alley-$2
a bunny ring-$3
a princess tutu keychain-$3
a bamboo sword-$15

that's it, there was a Lacus figure I wanted but someone grabbed it b4 I could, I was on the look out for Little busters! things too. I couldn't find anything of meganeko, all I kept seeing was kud, komari, and rin figures (I was looking for Yui, did anyone see anything of her?)

There were a few things I disliked about Fanime, but nothing major.

The biggest problem was the elevators in the Marriot. My friend's in a wheelchair, so we had to wait ages for one empty enough to jump into. Some people were really rude about it to, like when we had been waiting longer that they had, and there was room but they jumped in anyway!
My friend got so irritated he shouted at some people which was kinda embarrassing. >_> Hopefully next year he'll learn to keep his cool.

Second was the evening me and my friend decided to go to the gaming hall one evening (I think it was Saturday?), we got into an elevator and some random guy put his arm around me, commented on my costume. This wasn't the problem, except the fact you could smell the alcohol on his breath and we were crammed in the elevator with him all the way down.
Then as we were walking to the gaming hall, I was dressed up as Cats inspired Mr.Cat/Neko Sensei from Princess Tutu, someone yelled out "FURRY!" to me as we passed them. I guess it wasn't that bad, but it did make me feel really self conscious.

So nothing too bad, but the elevator situation could have been so much better.

that was horribly rude of them to do that to your friend! where the hell are their manners! when I waited for my elevator last year I always made sure I was one of the last people on, I let everyone go ahead of me! Geez someone needs to take some manners lessons. As for your drunken experience, I feel very sorry for you and hope it never happens to you again.

Anyone get it? A couple of my friends and I did, I think it's just from being around all the people at con, then sharing food/drink and squishing together to sleep.

If you did get sick, my sympathies.

Sore throat Monday night and then full blown sickness from there. Still kind of fighting off the cough and sniffles. Was funny though, because I never came across anyone else who was sick, that I had noticed. >.<

I had the exact same symptoms. I too am still coughing and sniffling. Whatever this is has also been exacerbating my asthma. I think a number of staff got the plague from the Con- even one of the Chairs.
I got the exact same symptoms! I had a sore throat on Saturday which I thought I had gotten from screaming so much during the FLOW concert but then Sunday I was completely bed ridden until Wednesday! maybe it had to do something with the food, I didn't see any sick people around. I've never gotten sick at Fanime before and this year was my first time eating food from the convention center.

It's a little article that we did on the show at Fanime.  Yay for concert photos.  I had a lot of fun shooting this show.

Omg those pictures are awesome and amazing!

What the heck?! that's not exactly nice for them to call us names like that! btw isn't that megaphone they had a noise violation? those guys are so rude, I'm sure god wouldn't be so drastic to kill us/send us to hell for liking anime...god people like the protesters give Christians a bad name. lol thank god I'm catholic! XD

what made the protest start up anyways? I don't remember any protesters back when I came to Fanime in 04, though I have no clue if I would even remember I was only 13 back then and I can't even remember what I saw yesterday much less 6 years ago...

I agree this fanime seemed very meh (well except for the FLOW concert that was awesome!) I was very bored with all the cosplayers this year, too many vocaloids!!!! omg I cant stand vocaloids (no offense to anyone who cosplayed as one) but there was one really awesome Isshin cosplayer on friday! omg he's on the forums contact me mr. hotness! lmao j/k
another thing that bothered me was NO FLOW MERCHANDISE!!! WTH is up with that!
#53
Is it true that one of the protesters got punch for calling one of the girl cosplayers a whore?
#54
I forgot my bamboo sword in the girl's bathroom on the bottom floor of the convention center nearest to the marriot, I left it in there for maybe 5-10 mins and when I went back to get it the sword was gone. I would very much appreciate it if the girl who took it would give it back, the sword was meant to be my little brother's b-day present, if the girl who found it reads this please email me at [email protected]
Please return the sword, my brother was heart broken when he did not receive it

I'm only going to be there Friday and I'm going to be wiped out, I have work in the morning hours and I'm heading straight to the con after work and then i have to stay up all day until the Flow concert....5 hour energy=friend

They're giving Christians a bad image, my friend who was with me is a very devoted Christian and said it was horribly wrong for them to be spewing such non-scene.

She was going to beat the crap out of them but I was able to pull her away from them before she could do anything.

So does anyone want to buy the figures/posters from me? I'll give you all of it for 30 dollars. XD
