Question:
What genre of music would you like to hear besides trance in '09?
Option 1: Rap/Hip-Hop/RnB
Option 2: Drum'n'Bass
Option 3: House/Electro
Option 4: 80's/90's
Option 5: Happy Hardcore/Speedcore
Option 6: Other
Hi folks!
I made this thread for the purpose of seeing what other genres people would like to hear at Dance this time around. Also, if anyone has any questions or comments concerning Dance, please post them here!
Now is the time for you to be heard! If there is a big push for either one of these genres, the better chance of that particular genre to be played at this year's Dance.
I would like to see a Mix of everything... But happyhardcore works well =D Scott Brown FTW.
Bump for more White Lights and Strobes? :D

I would if I could. It's still early though, so I may be able to get some. No promises though.
I really enjoy something you can feel with your heart.
I'm not being cheesy. I mean when the bass is so loud, that you can feel it pumping through you.
Something fast, furious, and with serious bass would be awesome.
But a little of everything is cool too. :)

Ah, you mean like the pretty, fluffy trance? Haha, I got plenty of that! However, to be fair, I need to know what everyone else wants to hear, and it is really hard when no one says anything except for a small handful of people which is not enough. Hence, making this thread so people can talk directly to me so we can have at little something at Dance that will appeal to everyone, not just a small group.
fffff something danceable this year please =\ I felt a little sad at the choice of music more hiphop and rap some hyphy too
Forgot to add:
If you vote for "Other" please leave a post stating what that "Other" is so that I'll know.
Thanks

I agree with Dominium, a good bass, and lots of fast crazy stuff XD
I liked alot of last years
but pretty much any music pleases me
With Fanime now getting over 15,000 people for the weekend-long party, it would be nice to expand the listening profile. Not everyone is into Happy Hardcore just like not everyone is into Rap or any other specifically styled music type / genre. Since the '09 theme is Music, however, I would hope that the dance coordinator will work hard to find DJ's to fit more than just a handful of music styles -- that harkens back to the earlier days of Fanime when this con was the only one with a real nightclub-style dance over more than one night. Bring back some of the old-schoolers if possible (I used to be one, by the way) such as DJ Mod (who's still on the Fanime staff) or DJ Socket or DJ Jinnai. I know that Muteki will be lurking and he might be able to pull Magic Mike out of his semi-retirement for some old-school B-Boy beats. You might also want to holler at DJ Hanzo Strider over at Stage Zero as he may be able to drop some beats or cross collaborate on a music presentation from his spot at SZ... (maybe we can even spread the dance out over more than one floor (the concourse at the SJCC after hours?) Just thinking out loud...)

This. Besides, this is the Bay Area, home of the hyphy movement. I would be awesome for a night of homage to rap & hip-hop, both old school and new school, ranging from Run DMC to Lil' Wayne to E-40 to all the club bangers and everything in between.
Reign: Remind me to totally send you Kokujin Tensai stuff, it's so horribly bad that you'll love it.
I bet people would love songs that my sister and I define as "songs that are meant to be blasted on speakers".
I'd suggest specific songs but, I want to make sure everyone would agree. ^^;
I'm sure we all have our own preferences for music, but to accomodate everyone else that will want to enjoy the dance, i guess maybe we should spread out to a little bit of everything?

Thank you very much for the mention. I didn't realize how much of an impact I have put upon the Fanime con organization.

Hip-hop definite but not too much hyphy. Sorry. This might be the bay but as the we like to say: "Old school > Hyphy" LOL
I heard no J-Anything.
Maybe there was some when I was not in there (there Friday from 12:30-1:30, and Sunday from the beginning to 30min later), but I don't know so ¯\(°_°)/¯.

Hrm... the rock/90s guitar stuff last year was kind of weird & hard to dance to. xD;;
I agree with the comment about having more Japanese music -- not just anime & OSTs, but also what's currently popular there. Also, I highly recommend expanding to other Asian music -- for example, Korea has a HUGE music/entertainment industry, and you should definitely look into Big Bang, DBSK, Epik High, Wonder Girls, BoA, Lee Hyori etc. A lot of people have made excellent remixes and mash-ups online like Aliks089 (here (http://www.youtube.com/user/aliks089)). I know a lot of people/my friends/I would totally flip out if 'Mirotic' or 'With U' (or other songs obv) was played at a rave. There's an entire world of kpop that has a ridiculously huge fanbase (see soompi's music section (http://www.soompi.com/forums/index.php?s=4738cae9aaedf4b4df1c7da85aebc4e0&showforum=14) -- just look at the number of members online atm in the music section alone o_o) -- I'm surprised Fanime hasn't tapped into that genre of music since it's so popular.
At the same time, you guys should definitely have mainstream (aka typical high school dance stuff) too. Some congoers may hate mainstream, but there are a lot of us that enjoy it too.
So basically, variety in Asian music + Western music as well -- as long as it's danceable.
Just putting in my two cents! :3 Sorry for rambling~
80's/90's ftw!
Nu disco would be fun.

There were some kpop played at this year's Dance.
I believe the statement 'something to shake your ass to?'
Little bit of the club bangers, touch of the eighties, some of the R and B, touch of the happy hardcore, and a little bit of Drum n' Bass for those of us that like to feel it in the ribcage.
Earlier in the thread I saw requests for Asian music in general, and I bump that! Rain's good, the Ayu-mixes are always quite nice and could be a lot of fun to play with. There's all sorts of stuff. I think what'll make a floor fun for the mass populace is variety, or else sections broken up and specified on the program.
Like, 8-9 is happy hardcore... or x hour to X hour is this. That way people know what to expect. XD Personally, I have a hard time dancing to happy hardcore. It all kinda sounds the same, but I know there are some people that passionately love it. So. *GRIN*
As long as everyone's got something to dance to, right?
The main thin I'd request is variety. I like trance and heavy beat raver music but last year that was almost all they played. I'd love for them to mix it up with some hip-hop, rock and j-pop. And whatever else that could be fun to dance to.
Im more on hip hop, but anything else i think is fine. BTW do anyone know where it is going to be? I had been missing it twice already. I dont want to miss it this year. I want to all out this year. After all i dont know if my friends are going anymore after this year. So let me know please. O yea. any rules on clothing and what time till what time. thx.
I want to hear as little rap as possible please. Sorry to those who might enjoy the genre but you can't dance to it and it's not even technically music. It's just glorified beat poetry and doesn't belong at a dance.
Trance, techno, drum'n'bass and happy hardcore are what belong at dances. Anything you would have found in the "Dance/Techno" section at a record store.
I'll bring the glowsticks, you provide the music.

I believe you have the wrong idea here. Hip-Hop/Rap are often heard at dances all over. High school dances come to mind as well as some raves, and I think I speak for the majority when I say that it is one of the easiest genres to dance to, not to mention one of the easiest genres to mix.
Dance is not limited to EDM. As much as I would like to have all of these genres at Dance, I can't. There is a push for more Hip-Hop, and since I am for the people, there will get more of it. EDM is not going anywhere as long as I am here, but that doesn't mean I won't listen to the public.
So don't worry, there will be enough music to go around for everyone to enjoy.
I'm one of those lame people who can't figure out how to dance to hip-hop/rap. I really don't get it. (Though, if I can't do the Charlston to it, I can't dance to it, so I'm not really the best authroity on this... ;P)
I'm still in for all of the worst, most ear-bleeding J-pop I can hear. Eurobeat is good too. I would actually love more jazz and funk and whatever else (I'm so bad with musical genres...), but I doubt many others would.
Will there ever be a dance schedule with the DJ and the general genre that they will be spinning/prefer to spin? I think I have seen schedules of DJs in the past, but I don't remember if there was ever a list of genres, or do the DJs go between genres and I'll just have to take my chances?

There was a schedule last year outside the door, it listed the DJs in order of Appearance and the Genres plus Websites next to their names. Im sure details will be posted and everything just keep a eye out for them.

I've expanded my music genre selection. I was known for just playing Anime Remixes (hardcore/jungle/dnb style).
I now can also mix Super Eurobeat and Internet Memes (yes, you can have your "over 9000/longcat/desudesudesu" internets dance party.) xD

yo lady, what's up?
My plan is to try to have enough music on hand for a different genre per night. (since i'm a little new at this whole DJ thing, i'm trying to plan carefully) Since i'll be doubling up at Stage Zero, The idea is to make the show happen where ever it may take us. People keep those requests coming so we can fulfill the majority of requests. So far, i plan for, some electro, some house, some trance, and a birthday set filled of hard bass power, most of which will have some sort of japanese vocal spin on it, hopefully everyone will enjoy themselves.
We have plenty of people who will seduce those ones and twos to make it rockin for all, Yours Truly included.
So keep the good feedback comin!

i have those CDs, and yes they are great, but the style we're trying to put out is live mixing. so even though this mix cd is great (and makes well for driving distances), its something we aren't going to play, since its a pre-mixed cd.

You prolly don't wanna know. It's not even aime-related or Japanese.
Just a passing internet song fad made into some bad AMVs.
I vote for anything that is not rap/hip-hop/R&B.
Not only can you not actually dance to that "music" (except smash and grind as if you're having sex on the dancefloor), but most of the songs contain abusive and disrespectful messages and lyrics towards different groups of people.
Honestly, I'm going to the dances in hope that more anime/pop music will be played, since so many dances play nothing but rap.
If rap consists of most of the evening's lineup, you can count on at least one less guest (my companions for the weekend also share this view with me).
i would prefer dance/ electro/ techno style music. to me hip hop does not belong at something like this. i probably would not go IF they were to play that, i mean to me strobe lights, glowsticks, and multi coloured lights do not belong with hip hop but any kind of house/ electronic/ dance... etc
but thats just my opinion-

Your idea of rap seems to consist only of lil' jon, soulja boy, and the like. rap/hip-hop/r&b isn't solely represented by mainstream tools who'll say anything for money. good
mainstreamrepresentatives to me would be jurassic 5 for rap, beyonce for hip hop, alicia keys for r&b.
I'd like some drum&bass or old school funk. just tell me the time frame you'd be playing that kind of music.

The goal is to please everyone. If there's a type of music that's not to your liking, come back a little later. Let the people who like a certain type of genre have their chance to party. It's never fair to hog the dance floor.

I disagree. The goal is NOT to please everyone for it is impossible to please everyone. This has been proven time and time again. Someone requested nerdcore, and I do not even know what nerdcore sounds like nor have I ever heard of that genre. Is that a real genre? And if so, where would you hear it?
The goal is to have a big enough variety that will appeal to everybody of all ages. Last year we had a nice sized variety, and turned out very good. In fact, there were quite a few people that came up to me and said "This year's dance was the best dance in a long time." This time, there will be even more variety, and more...room? And maybe an extra night? I'll leave it at that for you people to wander what I am talking about. :)
And I can't believe I forgot about that video! EVERYBODY who plans on attending Dance, you need to watch that video...Seriously.

Lost me on that one. "Please" and "appeal" are synonyms. I do know about having more genres = more dance attendee satisfaction. But consider this:
This is where the INTERNET mix comes in, where I try to mix MANY GENRES and call it a mix set. One track could be nerdcore, then the next track, a star wars parody tune, the next track Haddaway, the next track Homestar Runner, etc. The only relation that all the tracks have are that they are found as popular tunes from the internet, and as long as the BPM matches.
This is the gap between a dance and a rave. No way in hell would this Internet mix work at a rave, but at an anime con dance, IT IS PURE EPIC WIN.
And yes I have done this at many anime cons from California to Nevada and to Texas, and it has been successful. Time and time again.

Seems this year will have a good mixture of everything, so it will give the young folks some air from the deep clubs tunes XD

Infected Mushroom?
J-pop Remixes?
80's - 90's?
All of that sounds really good.
Stuff that when it comes on everyone will be like "F*ck YEA! THIS SONG! WOOO!!!!"
This IS an Anime/Gaming convention so I am not sure why a lot of the Dances are getting away from playing Anime/J-pop/Gaming music. It makes us really excited to hear the Legend of Zelda themed mashed up with a hard beat behind it, etc... Plz consider getting back to the roots of the entire reason we are at this convention. Anime/Games!

Kevin, the bay areas DnB scene went the way of the Happy Hardcore. Considering Hardcore and DnB usually shared the same parties everyone got just as fed up with it as they did Hardcore lolol
I like the Jungle side more. Early 90's style.
Ahh, this is an awesome thread! I wish they had one like this for my local con. XD
You know what would be amazing in my oppinion? Is if we had some really good quality anime/jpop remixes. Something I'd absolutely love to hear is some Exit Trance. For the heck of it, here's my two favorite Exit Trance songs for example:
From Aquarion:

From Code Geass:

And here's a profile that contains loads of the stuff:

To be honest, I would love to have some more rock tunes. About two years ago on the sunday evening dance, the dj started playing classic rock songs by Queen and Journey, that stuff was fun to dance and rock out to.
we need some, as my relitives would classify it, really annoying J-pop XD such as hinoi team, or guyaruru. and maybe DDR music :D

Lots of Techno would be nice too :D

Please PLEASE don't over play the hip hop pop. Dance is techno. Gah i just came home from my school dance and it FAILED. They didn't play ONE of my song requests. I even brought my ipod and ipod hook up. Maybe high schoolers don't like REAL dance music. IDK they played too many slow songs.

Thats how our high school dances were like. They play what serves the majority of the high school students (Main stream hip hop and ...whatever they play on the radio). We usually hold our mini-dances in our computer lab, thats where we play real dance music. lol geez I miss high school. :-\

I agree 100% with this. They did the same in my high school. We where lucky to get the three minuet Sand Storm but that was it. :'(
Sandstorm was actually one I requested but I got Lady Gaga Just Dance cr** Flo Rida etc
Songs I requested:
Pretty Rave Girl(the theme was rave/neon)
Oh, oh oh sexy vampire
Daft Punk
I was even holding back those were the songs I thought the other people MIGHT like.

Our Dance is not just techno. We try to offer a good variety of genres so everybody can have something to enjoy. Last year there was not much hip hop, but this year I'll have something special for those who like hip hop.
And you should not be so critical on your school dance. They only play what most kids listen to on the radio. You should not say it was a failure because they did not play what YOU wanted to hear or what YOU requested.
I agree that there should be emphasis on techno, jpop etc, but I don't think it's fair for anyone to request a specific genre not to be played at all. Even if you some of you hate mainstream, there's bound to be at least a few at the dance who want to hear it. I for one think Lady GaGa & Flo Rida's music is catchy, and I have friends who go to Fanime who love them just as much as they love trance etc. It's impossible to cater to one person's personal taste bc there'll inevitably be people who hate it. So instead of downplaying certain genres, I think it's best if the DJs just have a lot of variety for dance-able music. =)

Yeah I guess your right. I was pretty upset with it because it was 80s themed and they only played 2 80s songs.
As a dancer and musician I list to everything. But since I am making a rave/dance costume I want it to more rave like. Although I occassionally want to do more than just waving my hands around, and thats when hip hop comes in.
If it were me it would be;
House
Techno
Trance
Jungle
Hip Hop
Jpop
Old School Hip Hop
Happy Hardcore
Hardstyle

every highschool is like that. They had a rave theme and played no rave music, just hip hop like what the fuck is that. My GSA(gay straight alliance) wanted to make our own dance that was just techno/trance/happy hardcore music.

I have this strange feeling that even if Rap gets the highest vote, we'd hear a small amount of it. I've noticed that the DJs last year are reactive towards the crowd's feedback. They play what the crowd seems to like more which is techno-house-anime-rave-dance-etc.-music. :)

For some reason I can't actually vote. If you like playing electronic music then Dance genre music would be good. You should check out some of the music on the Newgrounds audio portal. It has a bunch of start up musicians/djs and there's some pretty good dance and trance music. Look for f-777 in particular and I also like some of syphonmax's stuff.

Alright, here's what's going on:
I kind of dropped the ball for a second, so what I am about to tell you, will not be in the program guide.
First off, Dance this year
WILL HAVE TWO ROOMS! The main room will have some j-pop, k-pop, hardcore, hardstyle maybe, trance, techno and perhaps drum n bass. The second smaller room will have hip hop/ top 40's, house, and electro. The second room will be located in the hilton near where Dance is normally at.
That's not all! There will also be a Dance on Day Zero (Thursday night) for the early birds. This dance will be a pajama jammy jam! For those who wish to participate, come to the dance in your jammys! Pretty simple, huh? The Jammy Jam will start at 8pm till 12am.
AND speaking in which, the hours for Dance have changed once again! Now, Dance will start at 8pm till 4am! The smaller room will shut down at 2pm since it will actually be in the Hilton.
One last surprise...Will have to wait till it has been confirmed. Sorry!

Alright, here's what's going on:
I kind of dropped the ball for a second, so what I am about to tell you, will not be in the program guide.
First off, Dance this year WILL HAVE TWO ROOMS!
Sorry!
IT'S THE MOTHER OF ALL HOUSE PARTIES!!!I don't know what you came to do, but I came to have a good time...
o/~ Ain't gonna hurt nobody... o/~
And strangely enough, it seems that the high top fade is making a comeback.

For some reason I can't actually vote. If you like playing electronic music then Dance genre music would be good. You should check out some of the music on the Newgrounds audio portal. It has a bunch of start up musicians/djs and there's some pretty good dance and trance music. Look for f-777 in particular and I also like some of syphonmax's stuff.

fffff something danceable this year please =\ I felt a little sad at the choice of music more hiphop and rap some hyphy too
This. Besides, this is the Bay Area, home of the hyphy movement. I would be awesome for a night of homage to rap & hip-hop, both old school and new school, ranging from Run DMC to Lil' Wayne to E-40 to all the club bangers and everything in between.
I know this is from forever ago and it might not happen this year but I was wondering if there was going to be more rap and hiphop? =( It was a little hard to dance to what was being played for the past two hours. Anyone have DJ listings for the rest of tonight and tomorrow night?
This year's rave was much better than last year's for sure.
The last two sets last night were amazing.
Strobe+Trance=<3

Glad to hear the comments so far about the dances this year. :-* Good times aaaaallllll around, awww yayuh. I know I had a blast...all thanks to the crowds, of course. Much <3.
Let me know if you want any track ID's from my sets (I played electro/nu disco each night, like the I'm On A Boat remix et al ;) ).
I loved the electro/trance/eurobeat (and I loved that remixed Sailor Moon song and I thought I heard a bit of Kanye thrown in) but Mortal Kombat and Sandstorm totally kill the vibe for me.

(sadly) I was only there on Sunday around midnight until closing.
I was there every night last year but I had a few other things to take care of.
Now I can't wait for another bay area rave to come up and next year's fanime.

Hip-hop definite but not too much hyphy. Sorry. This might be the bay but as the we like to say: "Old school > Hyphy" LOL
"Now what's the time? IT'S TIME TO GET ILL!!"
We need Beastie Boys at Fanime 2010!!!!!
Random is what we do to keep EVERYONE entertained, if I had my way I'd stick to one style.. downside is that we'd loose the crowd if we only kept 25% of crowd happy (we stole B&B's clicker :P but only a rough count as it wasn't consistent).
Glad you all liked the Sailor Moon mix, Mortal Kombat, BEPs, Aoki, Samberg (lol) and even all those 80s beats(originals) and remixes we all did. Fanime crowd showed me last year that you guys are a dancing crowd that wants to something dance to something realistic with some here and there classic favorites from all walks of life. That right there is what made my whole weekend this year was that you all were into everything we threw out you left an right to keep you guys moving.
We got some photos + vids compilations we did from our point of view that we'll be posting up very soon. Also we aren't greedy so if you heard something you liked, just ask us if you haven't started already and we'll throw you some links or tell you where to get it for yourselves.
"...its not a tornado, its a sandstorm.."
Yeah i'm sorry to those that couldn't handle the strobes lol, its was a storm in there every time I got going on the lighting effects for the other DJs.
Hey all, Blue here!
WHAT AN AMAAAAAZING WEEKEND!!!
I would just like to say that I've been going to the Fanime raves/dances since 2006 and this is by FAR the best one there ever has been! Don't get me wrong, each one has been pretty amazing, but this year the music was so fantastic and I think the room was bigger and I never had to wait in line to get in or anything! It was so great! Everyone was so hyped up and dancing and it was great! And did I mention the fact that it held on till 4AM is amazing fantastic awesome?!! I always thought that the 2AM ending time was too soon, but 4AM is perfect! I could dance forever, but stopping me at 4AM is probably healthier for me. Haha!
And it was SOOO amazing how EVERY SINGLE DJ UP THERE was ABSOLUTELY brilliant in their music! You guys were so great! I loved all the music played from the hip-hop to the trance to the techno (especially the techno) to the anime-mash-ups and etc.! SOOO good! Props to you all! I bow to your musical greatness! Haha!
I was the girl who was dancing mostly front and center the whole night, if anyone danced with me, shout out! Lets be friends! =) I didn't end up getting people's contact information for future hanging-out-dancing-good-times, so if I danced with you and you remember me (Blue), message me!
Props to my personal fave DJ, Stormy. <3!
See you all next year! <3
Blue
Some hip hop but mainly old school hip hop.
DJ Jinrei: Yeah, I totally understand that now and fully respect that.
The rave also got me into really liking electro.
oh and if any of you guys have a link to that Sailor Moon mix, I'd gladly take that off your hands :D
I dunno if anyone saw but around the last two hours, I was right in the front of the floor with blue/blue nunchucks. I was the first one at the stage when they announced free CDs around 2 or 3am.
Oh poop! I totally forgot other things I wanted to talk about! Haha!
DJ Reign and Stormy's tag team at the end of the night? Nearly blew my mind apart into tiny little pieces. SOOO amazing! SOOO AMAZING! I'm glad to have witnessed and been privy to something that INCREDIBLE! Aaahhhhh!!!
I loved the strobes, Jinrei. Keep the storm goin'!
YES YES YES!!! I couldn't get enough of the strobes.
Especially during the intro to some of those trance songs... the experience is amazing.
I will take some blame in strobe over-kill! I was controlling them for Jinrei during the Storm on Sunday!
Great weekend of dance, thanks to everyone who showed up. Hope to see you next year.
Signed,
The dude in the white hoodie eating and controlling the lights on stage.
one of our guys from random DJs couldn't make it because he was doing a Eastern con the same time Fanime was going on. DJ.Amaya originally mixed the Sailor Moon track and I played it for his fans and the millions-AND THE MILLIONS of the Sailor Scouts (and underage girls that asked us to play something like it).

Haha no prob.
I know they are garbage but I was thinking of getting one of those MP3 USB DJ controllers and a program and messing with mixing this summer.
Those controllers only cost $100 and it is a decent entry amount and if I do end up liking it then I will probably invest in some actual wax setup.
The $100 controller, free time, and a love for electronic music should be enough to see if I really want to commit or not.
don't have to be committed to enjoy playing good music heh.

The ONLY gear in that workshop (sans mixer/sound system) should be 1200's and a stack of vinyl. Real talk.
Ok question who remembers the Saturday night dance when started the chants and even got the girl in the wheel chair into that huge mob? Because my friends and I startedthat and the look on our faces when it caught on was priceless haha.

I want some more pictures from the dance. Particularly one of me. Or many of me.
it be nice to have a workshop for electronica Dance style. something basic and short that people can add on to themselves when the real thing ges down. Also get some of that ParaPara magic in there too, btw there were these 3 girls Sunday or Saturday night up front doing some ot that an it was crazy! I'd do a work shop for that for sure so I can keep up with the ladies.

Dance was awesome. Except can we have some blacklights next year? I got some goggles glows in blacklight and I was hella dissappointed by the fact that were none. I was the foxboy with the blue spiked goggles, the trenchcoat in covered in green duct-tape and the safety-pierced fox hat.

Keep the suggestion rolling.. and just to stop you Welt before you open your mouth, no wet t-shirt contest lol. If I can't get a Driv-Thru KFC in San Jose that is 24hrs, you aien't getting no Wet T-Shirt contest buddy.

Was that the one 18+ or 21+ and on which day. On the first day, Thursday, I went to check the 21+ it was so dead. Nobody was there.
I have guest DJ'ed at Fanime Con 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, and Fanime Con 2009.
Thank you Fanime for all the memories and the opportunities to DJ, Catching my dream of working with Kristine Sa and Nemesis Records, and to meet my mentor, DJ M.O.D. It's time for me to move on to new projects and new musical journeys.
Lord Katsuhiko Jinnai has left the building. Goodbye all.
Quick question for this noob

At the dance will people just dance around you like the clubs or they will just stand around like in Junior High?
Since this will be my first time at Fanime

It gets pretty Insane. depending on the time and who is playing, think around a few 100 people going off =p its legit, nothing like high school =) BTW, this is last years thread..
Don't forget about the random worms that will spawn spontaneously. Some grow to be 15+ people long.
Where and when is Dance? And will there be blacklights? Just so I know if I should wear UV Makeup or not. Thanks!
Sorry no blacklights this year, we have put it on a list of things to get so look for it in the future.
Time to get ill
Anyone know how I can get a opportunity to Spin tracks for this years Fanime dance?
Preferably the EDM room.
Last years dance was awesome and It'd be an honor to spin for you guys. :D
Staff positions for Dance are closed.

Last year there was an 18+ dance and i'm not sure if the forum's broached this topic or not (i haven't seen anything and i can't read all the threads ><) of whether there will be one this year or not.
i liked it, even though i realize there weren't that many people at the dance (maybe like 20) i kinda liked that it was smaller and more exclusive.

I stopped in and saw like 6 people in there, it was pretty meh especially when the big party was poppin' upstairs
yeah but what annoys me the most about the big dances are the constant dance battles that pop out of nowhere, it's like dude. just go dance.
i liked how small and intimate the little 18+ dance was.
plus it kept a lot of the creepers out
the bouncer was AMAZING.
I get ya on how that would be nice but I have a GF and am usually at the big rave with a few groups of friends
The 18+ (or other room) will be downstairs in the Market Room of the Hilton from 9 to 2 Fri, Sat, Sun
Needs some Hardcore =P Who do i talk to if i want to DJ the event or a part of the event ? =)
