yes, yes you are, but we forgive you. but it's better than being addicted to crack... well REAL crack anyway

I agree, it shall rock.  I'm looking forward to the Gundam made out of boxes.  I wonder which Gundam it'll be, and if we'll see any other mobile suit cosplays.  *fingers crossed*

It's because the Gundams don't run on a nuclear core like everyone thinks, they on fortified Mountain Dew.  Mountain Dew should run everything and everyone.

I just realized that I'm still not listed on the "character sightings" list. XD;;  Would you mind putting me down, please?  I'm going as Duo Maxwell (Gundam Wing).

Thank you so much! ;D

And yay!  Saturday at 10:30am it is.  Woohoo!

yeah I noticed you weren't on the list of characters, thought you might have changed your mind *gives the stinkeye* >:(

General Convention Discussion / Re: To GLOMP someone...

and for me a glomping event usually ends in a bloody something, usually the lip and great pics and videos.  Yet I never get tired of it, do I have a problem?

I've seen and heard about a bunch of "likely" and "preferred' times for the GU Gathering but have we decided on an exact time yet? and I'm just throwing in that I'm actually up for it to be held at anytime.

10:30 a.m, Sunday. That's the confirmed date and time.

Don't you mean Saturday @ 10:30 AM?

Ok my bad, it is saturday. Goof up there :P

Don't worry about it as long everyone sees the first post. XD I know I goofed up last year's gathering by putting March instead of May. Yup.

so Saturday, 10:30am? got it

I've always wanted to meet Lia Sargent. ;D

I know this name but from where??

Lia Sargent provided voices for Mitsuko Komyoji, from "Android Kikaider: The Animation"; Millie Thompson, from "Trigun"; R. Dorothy, from "The Big O"; and Shion Uzuki, from "Xenosaga" (the actual game, not the animated series).

Millie from Trigun, that's where I know the name from.  Thanks, it's been buggin me  ;)

Always the fighter

either a Gundam (Heavy Arms or one from the 08th Gundam Team)  or a Robotech fighter (VeriTech Figher), maybe Voltron.  I'll take any one of the three.

I know the fans are out there, just wondering is anyone is going to do any cosplays from the series.  Should there be a good amount I was going to see if anyone was interested in a Shin Chan gathering.
#57
Awesome idea, I'd so go for that.

Yo everyone, this is a suggestion I had because a group of my friends and I were just spitballng and they figured I should go ahead and just suggest it. I did for the reason that i don't care if people think i'm a perverted freak for it.  I suggested it because I know women that go to anime conventions and they are big yuri fans and no, not all of them are lesbians, they just like women.  A few of my female friends even say they check out something like this.  Yes there will be pervy "fans" there that just want to see skin, and that is why, should it actually happen, i also suggest a code of conduct.  Even though I seriously doubt it'll happen now, there are those that aren't douche-bags and just think the human body, particularly the female body are works of art and just want to have a game where we can appreciate that while having fun with those who enjoy the same thing, and if it doesn't happen it doesn't happen.  I'm just think about having another dimension of fans to the con. I'm sure I've pissed off a few people for this but i don't apologize for what i enjoy.

and anyone who didn't figure it out already, yes I am a guy.  No, I'm a not horny teen who just wants to see boobs.  I'm just a man that thinks women are beautiful and not just eye candy.  To me yuri is are and amazingly beautiful.  In the same way that some yaoi fans appreciate the beauty they find in yaoi, I find that in yuri.

The Yaoi crowd has the YaoiCon strip bingo.  A few friends of mine and I were talking and I got to thinking those that like Yuri should have little something like that, Yuri strip bingo would be awesome.  The Yuri fans are out there, you know who you are.  Just a thought, come on Yuri fans back me up!

if you're gonna back me please be 18+, as minors should not be involved with this like the Yaoi bingo event.

General Convention Discussion / Re: Weapons/props?

Forgive me if this is not in the correct section or if there is already a topic about this already ^^;;

So being that Fanime '09 is going to be my first Fanime experience (YAY) I was wondering about weapons...should I bring some

Peace bonding?

Wooden swords...peace bonded? Allowed? Do they have to be bonded into the sheath itself? What if you don't have a sheath for it?

Metal swords? Even allowed?

Large props? Fake guns? Large fans? etc..

Care to share your experiences with weapons or props? I know there will be information about the weapons policy in the later months, but I just kinda want to know how it was for those who bought 'em to Fanimes past. Going about the con and such.

Any metal weaponry or extra realistic guns are not allowed, toy guns like NERF or foam launcher guns seem to be okay ( I've noticed that orange tipped toy guns are okay if they remain holstered unless you are asked to pose) ,  wooden swords have to be peace bonded to the sheath and/or the costume.   Large props there isn't a whole lot they can do about those so it's best to ask the Staff and Rovers, fans are okay i've seen some very large ones in the past years.  You can always e-mail Fanime from the website after it goes up with any questions and they'll help you out too.
