Quote from: JohnnyAR on November 10, 2007, 05:59:04 PMI just got back from it! ... Who went?
Thanks for joining us! I was there. I did most (all?) of the show introductions, called ticket numbers from our free raffle and wore an S.O.S-dan armband for the later part of the showing.

Sweet! I might be able to come even though I don't know some of these anime series and haven't watched any of the episodes of them, but hell it'll still be awsome. I don't really know what you mean by the time, 14:15? do you mean by 2:15 PM?
"14:15" meaning "2:15 PM" is just one of the many secrets of the No-Name anime "in-crowd" -- please join us Saturday and learn more! If you'd like to know more about the shows with continuing stories, hopefully the little blurbs at http://www.nnanime.com/flyers/2007/sch07_11.html will give you an idea of who the main characters are and what is happening in the story without spoiling it. Hope to see you!

With Thanksgiving coming up, we'd like to express appreciation for all the people and all the resources that help make this club successful, including those who create anime, the licensing companies that bring anime over and support anime clubs, the library that hosts us, and all of you who attend meetings and continue to give us a reason to still be here. Thank you!

Assuming I have the right maid -- the one who was first to try the Wii Bleach game -- it was nice to meet you! I made the first post on the back-up boards and I'm glad you and others made this a lively topic.

Ideas and Suggestions / Girls T-shirts PLEASE
July 29, 2007, 10:10:16 AM
Quote from: "Chiri Kcrinh"Yes, please for staff shirts as well.
And for people who support musical guests. One year I tried to negotiate a volume discount for buying more than one copy of a musical guest's album and couldn't get a discount on price. But the seller gave me her new "didn't fit, she wasn't ever going to wear" Fanime T-shirt as a bonus.

I went Saturday night with some people after the No-Name showing. Had some good food. Saw some of the Obon Odori  (festival dancing). Saw a walking advertisement for the maid cafe.  Go today if you can!

Ideas and Suggestions / Mail out the Program Guides
June 15, 2007, 07:30:18 PM
Quote from: "Tony"
Quote from: "Spiritsnare"Looking at the guide, I became a bit irked that No-Name was limiting the release of the program guides...
Were they asking for you to sign in? Tenba (2007 publications 2nd) asked even me to.  :P She wants to make sure as many people as possible get it, that's all.

Just to state the obvious, No-Name Anime doesn't have any supply of or control over the program guides. Tenba was at the No-Name meeting with a box of program guides, controlled how they were given out  and did require people to sign.  I hope there are no hard feelings that some people got programs at this meeting. I'm sure the Fanime staff is working hard to see what they can do for everyone.

PS. For everyone who's in the San Jose/Santa Clara area on the 2nd Saturday of the month, please come and join us.  We can't promise that you'll get something cool or learn something useful or make a friend or ... but you never know. http://www.nnanime.com

The 2k7 panel was fun, thanks for organizing it!

I talked to Jerry, head of video, the next day. If anyone has wants to help with showing old school anime and promoting it so there's actually people in the video rooms watching when it's shown, he's a good person to talk to.

Gaming / BUMP

BUMP

I'm still playing, and more of No-Name's staff have been convinced to play. I've even played a little PvP. I know there are some people out there who are interested, I even met a Guild Wars cosplayer at Fanime, http://www.nnanime.com/events/0705fanime/day2a.html . If you're interested, check out our Guild Wars page that has some fan art by some people you might know from these boards http://www.nnanime.com/hotlinks/guild_wars.html and send a PM if you ever want to meet in game.

There's a few pictures that have nothing to do with cosplay at http://www.nnanime.com/events/0705fanime/index.html (and a lot of cosplay pictures).

EDIT: More pictures from other days added Tue 5/29/2007.

Quote from: "gmontem"Did any guests attend the Saturday one?

No. If any people involved with making the movie were there, they were incognito. We did sit near someone involved with the film festival who also helped with the distribution of one of the local films that was promoted in the ads before the movie.

Quote from: "Appu"Gah, I'll be missing eet. Class till 8:30 =(

Just ask Makoto for help ... finish class *FLIP* sing Karaoke *FLIP* goto the movie  ...

The Girl Who Lept through Time (Toki Wo Kakeru Shoujo) is showing at the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival with showings on Saturday March 17 and Thurday  March 22. It's pretty likely that some of the No-Name Anime folks will make the Saturday showing.

I have no idea if any of the movie makers will attend, but the last time we saw an anime movie at this festival the Q&A after with the producer afterwards was a very nice bonus!
