Messages - Yukimi

#1
hello.  i was part of the former Hibiscus and would like to apply as an individual designer under the name Yue Lai Huang (nick: yukimi).  however, seeing as i am very busy with schoolwork this year, i cannot promise that i will stay.  on a brighter happier more positive note of love, I am attempting to finish my 40 sketches in the duration of Christmas vacation.  if i do manage to accomplish this, I will definitely be staying in the fashion show as a designer.   i think that is all for the time being.  the percentage of me participating as a designer is at about 88% right now.  the remaining 12% depends on various scenarios that might or might not happen.

General Convention Discussion / Fanime '07 Promises
July 08, 2005, 02:45:45 PM
I promise to spend my money reasonably.

I promise to eat healthy foods (that weekend was hell without any rice. ;_;)

I promise to at least *attempt* to start and finish one cosplay.

I promise to get good grades to stun my parents into providing me with a little *extra* food money.

I promise not to stalk anyone, no matter how much my friends try to convince me.

I promise to attend Der Cosplay.

I promise to help as many starving artists as possible (myself included).

hmm..  i stayed at the Ramada..  it wasn't bad...  the cost was pretty good, since i roomed with three friends.  the only problem was the light in the bathroom kept flickering when i turned it on..  and the sink got stuck once.  xD;  but the staff was very nice, and they fixed the sink for us.  :]  like the poor nerd that i am, the Ramada provided free breakfast, which was also very within my budget.  other than a few bad points, it was pretty good.  no stealing staff here!

the only REALLY bad thing, if you're picky, is that the TV channels are crap.  but then again, if you spend the whole day at Fanime, do you REALLY want to watch TV?  o__o;

hrm...  question: does Fanime have it's own IRC channel?

Panels and Workshops / Japanese Tea Ceremony
June 27, 2005, 09:12:36 PM
about that...  in a Japanese tea ceremony, don't you have to literally crawl through this door?  how exactly will that be pulled off?

an alteration upon this idea would be a tea panel?  xD;  i am tea-obsessed, so i would definentely go to that.

I lost my calamity.  I actually agreed to walk up to the guy my friends were fangirling over and ask him for his name, AIM, and MSN/e-mail.  i think insanity possessed me for the four days i was there.  because afterwards, i dashed off and hid in the dealer's room after they lunged at me 'coz he autographed the piece of paper.

mm..  then my friend lost her cellphone.  spent a couple of hours trying to find it.

..my friend probably put about $50 in tokens into the Initial D machine.  that was actually kind of funny..  :3

Elfen Lied.

even before i watched the anime, and my guy friend was describing it to me, i already felt pretty nauseated.  still one of my favorite animes though.

Furuba isn't necessarily bad nor good, it just depends on how you look at it.

i mean, if you are known for your short patience span with shoujo animes, it is definentely not something for you.  i haven't watched it yet, but two of my friends have cried at the ending.  so it's got to be somewhat good, right?

personally, i enjoy animes like Cowboy Bebop and Bleach.  however, i happen to love Full Moon wo Sageshite.

i guess it just depends on whether it appeals to you or not.  as usual, i find the manga version of Fruits Basket much better.  read it if you can!

hmm..  depending on whether i have time or not, and whether i can sew...

i've planned out this EGL-style outfit.  After sketching it out, it seems a bit challenging.  however, if i pull it off, then i'll be going with my friends in this EGL cosplay group.  our theme is black and one color of our choice.

i'm black and blue.  my outfit looks kind of like a clown/pierrot girl.  it actually reminds me of Joker from Magna Carta: Phantom of the Avalance.  not done purposely, however.

i want to cosplay...
Soi Fong from Bleach

i've already designed everything, it's just a matter of will and time.  my summer is going to be filled up with school projects...  ><;
