Yes .hack//Gift is on the DVD that comes with the 4th game. It's under the DATA section (extras).

No one plays the card game up where I live. They dont even carry the cards in the local comic book shop. I have to drive an hour south to find the cards. So needless to say, I havent played the game much and really suck at it right now.

I am pretty sure that .Hack//Gift is on the Quarantine Liminality DVD. Its under the bonus material. I know I have watched it. I will double check when I get home.

The story line has been improving lately in my opinion. He seemed like he sorta stalled out there for a bit. But I have been reading it for several years now.

He was at Fanime last year. I dont think he will be back this year, as he has stated they are cutting back on going to cons.

Luckily I got him and his wife to sign my MegaTokyo books in the dealer room last year.

Quote from: "ZJCitrusGraffiti"I love Tsukasa's english voice actor/actress... I still don't know who it is. Does anyone know? (a list of other works by the same VA would be appreciated) ^^;;

Here is a cool web site that lists many voice actors:

http://www.crystalacids.com/database/

And here is the info on the actress who did Tsukasa's voice.

I agree, the music was the best part of the series. I thought the english dub was bad as far as voice talent went, but the english dub script wasn't as good as the subtitles. And the japanese seiyuu were great.

So I prefere to watch it subbed. And yeah it was a sloooow moving character driven piece. But it one of my favs.

Actually it's called necroing (bring back from the dead), and is considered bad form and can get you banned on some boards (although probably not this one.)

If you have something to add to a Topic that is old, it is better to Start a new topic with your comment /question and then post a link to the old thread. You may even want to summerize a bit what was said before so your post has some context.

Why is necroing bad if you have something to add? Well for example this topic was last posted on in January, which means everyone was done with the topic at the time. Now you go and post on it, so it pops back up, but since its not current everyone has to go back through and read all the posts to know what the heck is going on.

Just so you know.  :D

BWAHAHAHA...

I can so see people like that.

Thankfully now I can recognize the symptoms before I succumb to the disease. I mean I already own one of the headbands.    But I don't wear it... much.

Quote from: "ZJCitrusGraffiti"...you mean the bonus disk has Kite and Black Rose before their own story even chronologically happens!? That's odd. Or is the bonus disk meant to be seen after the PS2 games? And btw, thank you for the info.

The bonus episode takes place after the games' timeline.

Quote from: "ZJCitrusGraffiti"Ditto. $50 per game!? C'mon! I'm hoping for a GH series or a box set in the future. ANYTHING! (father always says: Never pay full price.)

Buy the games used for the best deal. However all the previous edition have gone down in price to 29.95 each. I would expect the last game (vol. 4) to go down in price soon as well.

I am almost finished with the last game. I have beaten Cubia (for the last time) and the last 'wave' boss. I have one more dugeon to go through and then it's the Item collection event.

...Since I haven't played any of the PS2 games, I felt out of the loop with whatever the "legendary Dot Hackers" did and why they're soo important. Do the "legendary Dot Hackers" appear anywhere else other than the games? And is there any truth to all 4 volumes coming back in a box set?

Other than being mentioned in Legends, they make an appearance in the bonus episode called .hack//integration it was included in the limited edition volume 6 DVD of .hack//sign.

All the characters (from //sign and the video game that is) gather for a party and it wraps up a few loose ends. It was kinda cool.

Quote from: "Touya no Miko"I just saw on foxkids that they're gonna dub one piece!!!! Nooooooo!!!! They'll probably butcher it like they did to Shamn King!!!

I just read in Anime Insider that Shaman King is going to be re-released on DVD uncut/unedited with an all new subtitle script to match the Japanses Audio.

However the English is not getting re-dubbed so there will be blank spots in the dialogue.

Quote from: "Chloe"Oh, yeah!  .Hack is in my veins!  I'm absolutely crazy about it!

And lots more!  Oh, oh!  And has everyone heard of the new game .Hack//ANOTHER BIRTH?  If not, you guys should check it out at:

http://www.cyberconnect2.jp/hack/frame.html
(Offical Japanese Website)

Are you sure its a game? I googled it and it was listed as a novellization.

I love the .Hack series. The music is awesome too. I got all of the special edition CDs that came with the DVDs.

And I am currently finishing the 4th game. I think the game is awesome, though the game play can get repetetive. The secret I think is to take a break from it periodically.

I think "ne" is roughly translated as "isn't it" or "is it not"

So when saying how nice the weather is it would be:

Ee otenkey des ne?  (Roughly: good weather it is isn't it?

So des ne. (Roughly: So it is inst it.)

(yes my spelliing is bad  :P )

"ne" also can be used when talking to about someone sorta like "aren't you" but I don't have an example (that I can spell anyways) off the top of my head.

General Anime Chat / What's your first Anime?
April 29, 2004, 07:49:06 AM
Yeah growing up with old school anime on TV was great.  I loved Voltron. Then I remember when we started passing around copies of anime on VHS. Some of it wasn't even subtitled! It was so counter culture/underground. hehehe

Thank god for DVDs! The first DVDs i bought were Cowboy Bebop and Tenchi Muyo!

We have "what's you favorite anime?" topic. I was wondering what was the first anime you ever saw?

Also, a similar thread,  what is the anime that turned you into a full blooded otaku?

The first anime I ever watched when I was a young kid was Battle of the Planets (Gatchaman). Robotech was what got my hooked on anime though.

Akira is a classic. But its not everyone's cup of tea. *mmmm... Thai iced tea* If I had to choose between Bebop and Akira, I would pick Bebop. I own both ofcourse.

My friend had a dream that she completely understood what Akira was about. She was so excited when she woke up.  About an hour later she forgot it all!
