Things in the Universe / Be afraid. Be very afraid.
December 23, 2007, 08:18:02 AM
(Wow... I never post in this section anymore. Hopefully people remember who I am.  ;D)

So, today, everyone's favourite Neeners turns 18 years of age. Yep. I'm finally legal!

Anyone underage out there want some porn and cigarettes? ;D;D (Just kidding... I hope. XD)

I realize that skates, skateboards, rollerblades, etc. are typically agains tthe rule sin hte convention center due to safety and property issues. However, one of my planned costumes (Ryth, Jet Set Radio Future) pretty much needs skates of some sort. Since I would fall and die on anything that rolls anyway, I was thinking of locking the wheels on rollerskates (so I would have a 'platform' to walk on) and wearing them like shoes. Would this be against the rules? Would I have to get them inspected and/or tagged somehow? Would the staff feel better if I locked the wheels by tightening and by filling in the space between the wheels somehow? Or would I be better off with just plain shoes?

Thank you!

(One last thing for the more prop-inclined among us- her skates have large spikes on the backs, and since con-goers have a tendency to ruin or nearly ruin anything down low on my costumes, what types of materials should I use to make sure that the spikes do not get broken and/or injure someone? Thanks.)

i am planning on being in the masquerade (again) this year. the thing is, i am not sure what to do while on stage.

see, i am cosplaying from a j-rock video. it is a bit obscure (bodaiju PV amano tsukiko), and i will be by myself. it is rather difficult to do a skit by oneself, especially for j-rock, and j-rock that many people are not familiar with makes it even tougher.

i was planning on doing the same as i did last year- sing a portion of the song. however, last year the song was fairly easy to sing. but this song is very difficult to sing. i am afraid that i will not be able to pull it off. i do not want to have to do a walk-on, but i also do not want to be stuck singing a song that i am not sure if i even can sing.

what would my best course of action be? try to some up with another idea for a skit of some sort, do a walk-on (one of my main reasons against this is that because of a 10 foot train, i will need help getting on and off stage as to not ruin my train or fall to my death, and also, i am not comfortable with jsut doing this, i would rather do SOMETHING.), or attempt the song with lots of practice?

thank you. :D

i am planning on selling things at fanime at the artist's row, in case you guys did not know this.

i would like to know a few things. i would like to know them now so i have time to deal with them before next may.

well, i am going to be selling plenty of lolita acessories, but i am also planning on selling art prints. i have a few questions about said art prints that i would like to ask you all and get opinions on.

what sizes would you buy? (i was thinking 4x6 and 8x10, but maybe one smaller size)

how much would you pay for each size? (i was thinking maybe $1~2 for 4x6 and $4~5 for 8x10, because that seems to be about the average if i remeber correctly, help me out here.)

would you buy them if they were printed on photographic paper (so its developed just as a photograph would be, on the same paper, either glossy or matte (i need opions on that, too), only they woudl be drawings) or would you prefer an actual printed (not developed like photo paper would be) piece of paper of medium thickness (such as an unlaminated poster)? (i ask this because i know that costco does pretty cheap digital developing, and i have not looked into kinkos or anything for an actual printed piece of paper.)

do i have enough to too many pictures, and which ones (if you can remember, i should get links of the candidates) should i use? (i was thinking my new year's one, hakoniwa, satoumizu, BCL contest, nurse, rie's birthday/masquerade contest, and maybe bodaiju)

should i do more cutesy fanservicy ones (nurse, new year's, etc.), more serious ones (hakoniwa, BCL contest, etc.), or have an equal mix of both? (it is not very equal now. i was thinking i need more fanservice! xD)

how many should be printed up of each size? obviously more 4x6 ones then 8x10, but i have no idea how popular these would be. give me a random estimate, keeping in mind the attendance figures for fanimecon (look on wikipedia). (besides, i can always sell excess on under the banyan once i get it up (the webpage portion), but i do not want TOO many)

thank you very much. ^-^;; sorry for having so much. XD

so~ D:

i wanna get a group together. this means that all your crazy people that have ever expressed any intrest in doing an amano cosplay with me, here is your chance~

now, to decide on a PV or theme~ we have two basic choices, and about two choices within those. either have a group that is the band, or have a group of a bunch of "themed" amanos.

the band itself would either be IDEA or same, as her band is featured quite a bit in those (and yes, we can add rie to the same mix, as she was there for the fimlming, in an oragne kimono). i rashter like the IDEA PV idea, but~

its a terrible ppicture, but you can see each member. o-o; i dont have a group picture for same, sorry~

either that or a group of "themed" amanos. or two basic and most logical options (unless we just have a ranodm bunch of amanos... >>) are either a five singles group or a meg & lion group, pictures coming in a couple mintues. i like both ideas myself.

so~ anyone intrested?
