THANKS OTAKU! I'll probably change the photo rundown to make it easier for everyone:

ALL RIDERS

  • Series
ALL SENTAI/MMPR

  • Teams
  • Colors
Metal Heroes(?) Gatchaman crashed the party last year, so if they show up they're invited too.
SUPER HERO TAISEN (that's everyone)
REQUESTS

but I figure we're all gonna figure this all out on the fly when it actually comes down to the day. I'll look forward to seeing you all there again! I'll be moderating, so look for someone dressed as Joujima Yuuki!
Sounds good to me. And we can just adjust for anyone new coming or not showing up.

Can't make it again, so I need someone there to run it.
My friends might be interested in running it since they are now going to Fanime. Is the gathering department notified of the time/date/location of this gathering yet? Before another gathering takes our place.

I'll be going as Joujima Yuuki from Kamen Rider Fourze!
Make sure you bring my space ticket!

Hi, this is the Ikari Gai from the gathering. The gathering was a lot of fun! Thanks to those who organized it, ran it, and participated in it! It is always great to meet other Tokusatsu fans in the con community!

I am going to AX as Gai again, so hit me up if anyone's going in July as well!

Hi,

I was Ikari Gai/GokaiSilver for most of the convention.

On Sunday morning through early afternoon, I was the Lucas, the Pokemon Diamond/Pearl trainer.

Send me a PM if you took a picture! Thanks in advance!

Quick news bump: location has changed....we are now at the flowerbeds on the marriott side, sot we have the construction in the background. YAY!

no more changes. that is all.

P.S. For those that have friends coming with you, I need an exact number for an accurate cosplayer count for the first page.

P.P.S. For those confirmed and are still undecided on what you are wearing, please post your final choice as well.

THANKIES!

Confirm my friends for Joe and Luka. Once again, thanks for organizing!

So after wearing Basco to Sakuracon and nearly roasting in chilly Pacific Northwest weather, I don't think San Jose in May is a very good idea when it comes to that costume. It kills me to say I won't be able to be all the Gokaigers' sassy villain D:

I'm also being a bit wishy-washy about making Zeronos because all of my attempts at pepakura look like something that's been chewed up by a MOTW and spat back out again. I'll still be D.Yuuto and I'll have a R.Ryotaro with me, but we'll have to see about the suit :\

Backup plans currently include some form of Hino Eiji (WITH PANTSU ON A STICK!) or possibly someone from W (still flip-flopping between two characters). Still going to see everyone there though!

Awww that's too bad. And I had several more 6th ranger keys you could pose with too!

I'll be there as Ikari Gai, provided that the gathering isn't Friday morning. I should be in this cosplay for most of the weekend.

My friends will also be at the con as Joe and Luka, so they may post here to confirm their attendance.

However effective the waiver would've been, I'm at least glad they had something to warn people at the Hilton. One night I was visiting some friends at the Marriott. When the elevator opened up, it was packed with crazy idiots screaming and cheering, encouraging people to get on (the 5% free space they actually had). The worst thing was that they were really jumping up and down; the elevator moved up and down at least 2-3 feet with each jump.

As soon as I got a safe elevator and got to my friend's room, I immediately called the lobby to inform them of the problem. It's one thing to have fun, but when you're putting others in danger (for people, physical danger. For Fanime and the Marriott, legal & financial danger), that's a serious problem. How effective the waivers will be or how they'll be enforced can be debated, but I think it's good to give an advance (and reasonable) warning to con-goers.

Hotel and Facilities / Re: Parking?

Several parking lots are free on weekends and that Monday (Memorial Day) from 6am-6pm, and most are $3 after that.

Make sure you get your ticket validated for a huge savings on parking.
If you park at the convention center itself or the 3rd St. Garage (aka the one across the McDonalds) get your ticket validated at the Tech Museum to make your ticket $5 flat rate instead of hourly.
If you park at the Market Safeway, buy something at Safeway and get your ticket validated for 2 hours free.
If you park at the Pavilion movie theater parking, validate it by buying a ticket at the Camera 12 theaters.

Other good parking lot tips:
-behind the convention center at the big blue tent and the lot along Almaden Ave at the old Ernst & Young building is $7 flat all day
-next door to McDonald's $6 flat (cash only)
-SJSU's 4th street garage $8 day but may be free on some days because of graduation ceremonies

For parking in these lots, do people leave their cars there overnight for the duration of the con or do they have to go in and out every day?

I'll be going as Diamond/Lucas, either DP or Platinum version.
