Messages - Kandybar

Oh man, are tickets really going to be $100 for 2010?  Ugh, indecision.  I wish I knew if I was going to get laid off, that will factor heavily into planning.

My pics from this year:

I felt like I spent a lot more time in line this year than I have in the past.
Ideas and Suggestions / Re: The hug line

It was Sunday afternoon that the hug line by the dealer's room started to get a little out of hand.  I didn't have issues myself, but I was in costume with props (and with the shoes I had on, I was almost 6'3"), but the friend I was with kept having people jump out in her way to demand hugs.  And they were occasionally yelling mean comments if you passed them by without hugging them.

It would be nice if you could in and out both sides of the Dealers' Room so you could avoid them if necessary.

Waaaay bigger than I was expecting.  ;D
Wow, is it that late this year?

Those Totoros are adorable.  What booth was selling them?

I bought:
Part 2 of Ouran
Fire Emblem print from the AA
D: button from the AA

Not much appealed to me this year.
I was downstairs working in registration, and it sounded pretty exciting from our end. :P
Same here - I managed to completely miss the badges.

If it happens, it'll be on Monday.

If you pre-regged/early-regged, there will be a separate line at-con to pick up your badge.  There are two lines.  If you didn't pre/early register you will need to stand in the line to purchase badges.  If you're confused, there should be a staff member in the general line vicinity who can help you out.

It was my understanding that we don't have lanyards this year.  Did you get a badge clip?
::waves a tiny registration flag::
Yay!  Awesome, I'm so looking forward to this.  Thanks for organizing, K-ayu. :)

I wasn't quite done discussing the evils of pie...
What still needs to be done?  ???

I have tentative plans to see it next weekend (i.e. the weekend after Fanime).  The book was certainly the better of the two.
Starting a new costume a week and a half before con is a bad idea.  For the record.

When I lived in Santa Clara, I used to ride the lightrail downtown all the time.  I've never had any issues with it or seen anything that would worry me.  (But do pay for your ticket - Kaura's right, they bust people all the time for that.)
You might want to email the masquerade people and ask them directly.  I believe their email is [email protected].  (You might check the cosplay section on the main website to make sure.)
