Dude, there are no words to describe just how AWESOME this series is! I've a huge crush on Lelouch. X.D Fukuyama sounds so damn good as him. (He usually plays genki/dorky characters, eg. Watanuki in xxxHOLiC.)
Is the series really going to be only 25 or so episodes?? I feel like it should be longer, and I hope it will be.
This is a real edge-of-your-seat kind of series. The producers know how to effectively use cliffhangers. I download the raws every week to stay up-to-date. It's just SO GOOD. Episode 18 is going to be great!

I can see that the visuals are reused and it's pretty sub-par.
As for the band Jinn, the song is decent and catchy, but lacks depth overall on lyrics and skill.
So, yea, i agree, 2nd OP sucks.
As for Flow, I don't why they can only create good music once every 5 or so singles. Majority of their stuff is crap IMO, but colors is a good song.

For example: whose room does CC sleep in? And does that mean Lelouch really sleeps on the floor? I wouldn't think he'd take that kind of shit.
Also, are people noticing the Death Note influence here? I feel like they're setting Lelouch and Suzaku up to be Light and L, in a way. It's still a great setup for a series.

A recent character interview revealed the Lelouch "Had a dream of a giant meteor crushing him", only to find it was C.C.'s doing. Which is safe to assume Lelouch goes to bed as normal.

Kallen is pretty hot, too. I haven't yet decided between C.C., Kallen, and Euphie, though I'm leaning toward C.C. at the moment. Earlier on in the series I was more in favor of Kallen. And I was just starting to really like and respect Euphie when episode 22 happened. =( What's-her-name, that other girl, is just too useless (and resembles Inoue too much)
Furthermore, I have a hunch that Spiritsnare is gonna <3 Kaguya in ep 23 when he gets there.
And that scene makes me realize the how C.C.'s relationship to Lelouche works. The look on her face says it all. They treat each other terribly but they really need each other. There's something both sexy and terribly unappealing about that.

With all of this going on, what the hell will the second season be about?!
Epic is the only word I have for those two episodes. Every character got their moment. Some characters just got better moments than others.

Ok. episode 1 of Code Geass season 2 is out. My thoughts on this:
1st episode is almost the same parallel as episode 1 of season 1, i'll leave it at that since most people haven't watched it yet. They are some mysteries here as well on who Rolo is and the resurgence of the black knights, what happened to Suzaku, the emperor having a geass and the absence of memories that Lelouch has and the attitude he shows to the japanese, the reason why Kallen is working as a bunny girl and C.C's plan to bring back Lelouch, reawaken the geass and let him become Zero once more. \\citizens..
Overall, a good beginning to the 2nd season, despite that they are some questions on what happened to Nunnally. I'm not going to say anymore until you guys watch it. But yea, i'm psyched already for the next episode. :3
I've finished the first series, and I found out the second was out a while ago, but yeah this is a very VERY good series.
Its one of those animes that were well planned and executed.
It's on my to watch list.
First episode of Code Geass R2 has not disappointed. Glad to see the writers aren't pulling any punches.

I think some Flow songs are extremely catchy and oddly, their anime OPs are some of their best work... I still give them respect for their song "colors" for their simple positive lyrics and catchy tunes. Their older works like "okuru kotoba" which was a cover song for Kaientai gave them some mass exposure but I always though they were mediocre at best, especially their older more hiphop influenced works. And I still think bands like Uverworld and Flow should leave rapping out entirely, they really can't do it right. Leave the mainsteam pop rap to groups like Ketsumeishi. I mean come on, even HY's drummer does it better.
Jinn may be young, but I believe they are a solid band, but Hii-tan's vocals as a frontwoman and their sound as a whole may not suit everyone. I really don't think "Kaidoku Funou" showed their potential at all either. But yeah, they could've picked a better artist for the 2nd op, especially when they didn't even bother making new visuals for the 2nd op.
As for something like Ali project? I wouldn't know, it's not music.

Colors was the only song I considered an exception to their awful taste. My comment about "the last two OPs" was referring to Kaidoku Funou by Jinn and Hitomi no Tsubasa by Access (from eps 24-25). And Hitomi no Tsubasa isn't a great song, but it shows potential. It's kind of catchy.
They were really fucking lazy about the visuals for the first-season OPs, though.

I'm reminded why I like Lelouch as a character. Unlike most people, it's not because he's the cool and intelligent anti-hero. Although that certainly helps. It's because, deep down, he's just a guy with an enormous sister complex.
This episode mostly just reminded me why I like Lloyd as a character.
This ep just reminded me on how ugly some of the new KMFs really are, Lancelot looks hideous as always but jesus christ Gino has like the worst looking one ever. But it doesn't matter, it's not like Geass is a mech series.

I'm starting to believe that Lelouch is becoming much too arrogant in his actions. Understandingly taking over the government though those means at the end can create more opportunities for Japan, but the tension of the Chinese Federation itself combined with Britainnia's forces means for a double culture war, with limited strategy. Given How Schniezel can now read Zero's heart in his actions, I can't help but think this is headed for a downward spiral. This episode really jump-started my disdain for Lelouch's new philosophy/strategy.

No, in one of the previous episodes Tian Ze did converse with Kaguya for a brief minute or two, something like episode 5, when Zero "accepts" Governor Nunally's proposition.

Anyway, after last episode with the return of spoiler(highlight to read] Jeremiah aka Orange-kun and the now failed Coup, Lelouch gets his ass handed down by the Chinese Federation forces and Xing-Ke fighting for his empress, the tables are slowly getting turned to Lelouch. Kallen gets captured, and he promises to rescue her. Heh, I can't wait to see what goes from here. I also liked the window decorations that C.C put in the cabin and the cabin windows of the trucks. That was hilarious to see.

The Kaguya/Tianzi dynamic is amusing though. Kallen reminds me both why I still like her and why I shouldn't.
R2 is getting very interesting. I too am curious to see how this pans out. Also Ryu, I agree..I loved C.C's decorations..haha.
Some interesting musings.
One friend of mine suggested that the entire series is basically a scheme by the Emperor to make sure that Lelouch becomes the best possible heir to Brittania. I think it's plausible.
Another friend and I pondered: given the heavy Death Note influences, what would happen if Code Geass got a Death-Note-like ending?

Tokyo Jihen is pretty solid imo. Shiina Ringo had some great songs in the 90s/early 00s I really liked. "Koko de kiss shite" is the song I really liked in the beginning, although gibusu is pretty awesome and quickly became my favorite when it came out. (although I was already hyped about it watching CDTV). As for Jihen... I liked the Kyouiku album but after like 20 listens, I went on.... then Otona (adult) came out and I liked it a lot more. I always enjoyed their aggressiveness, don't know how else I can put it.

Episode 12 was both more ridiculous and more serious than I expected. Code Geass sure doesn't make joke episodes that can just be ignored for the purposes of the rest of the plot.

One thing you can be sure, Code Geass never ends on a good note. Something bad/ unexpected has to pop up right before the credits. I really didnt see that coming in R2 12, this is going to put an interesting twist

1. Nunnally is the evil mastermind, and she's been manipulating Lelouch all this time, so that she can claim the throne.
2. VV is actually Clovis in disguise (aka "CloVVis").
3. Charles had Marianne killed, because Marianne was having an affair with CC.
4. "CC" is the second version of "C", which stands for CloVVis. So the name that Lelouch whispered in her ear during the cave sequence in R1 would be "CloVVisCloVVis".
5. Sayoko is secretly jealous of Lelouch's relationship with Nunnally.
6. The final confrontation will be between Charles and Diethard. (It's a seiyuu joke.)
7. CC is a "god" whose ultimate plan is to ensure perpetual war, so that either the world is destroyed, or people seek the philosopher's stone.
My crackpot contribution to theory #1:
Nunnally never opens her eyes, because she doesn't want to reveal that she has an always-on double-eye geass, which she got from CC years ago, before she and Lelouch were exiled.

1. Nunnally is the evil mastermind, and she's been manipulating Lelouch all this time, so that she can claim the throne.

4. "CC" is the second version of "C", which stands for CloVVis. So the name that Lelouch whispered in her ear during the cave sequence in R1 would be "CloVVisCloVVis".
5. Sayoko is secretly jealous of Lelouch's relationship with Nunnally.
6. The final confrontation will be between Charles and Diethard. (It's a seiyuu joke.)
7. CC is a "god" whose ultimate plan is to ensure perpetual war, so that either the world is destroyed, or people seek the philosopher's stone.
My crackpot contribution to theory #1:
Nunnally never opens her eyes, because she doesn't want to reveal that she has an always-on double-eye geass, which she got from CC years ago, before she and Lelouch were exiled.

I like how the tragedy in this episode is not easily blamed on a single person. Actually, Code Geass has a lot of interesting moral gray areas like this, but FLEIA's detonation was particularly complex. I mean, you could blame Nina for envisioning it and wanting it to go off, Schneizel for funding its development, Lelouch for haphazardly using a geass with such unpredictable long-term consequences, Suzaku for firing it or even for getting into the situation where he had to, Kallen and Lelouch for threatening Suzaku's life such that he had to fire it, and even people like Lloyd and Cecile for not stopping the bomb from being equipped to Lancelot in the first place.

I mean, this doesn't come as much of a surprise to me, since I knew the show was planned for 50 episodes, then cut to 25, then expanded back to 50, so it's natural that a lot of material would have to change, and it was clear from a lot of aspects of R2 that the show was working its way around R1 events that would be inconvenient for the show to "start over" as its own season... But now we have direct confirmation that R2 wasn't what it was meant to be.
Whatever, I'm still looking forward to seeing how they wrap up the series.

Why the hell did I bother watching R2. Why. Was it because I believed it was going to be made of suck and make no logical sense anymore with a sad attempt to throw more "plot twists" one after another as an excuse analogous to a bread that's molding for way too long on a radiator? Yeah, that must be it.

The ending was awesome. It tied up more of the loose ends. Now to wait for people to make fanfics of Code Geass Season Three.
I have watched one episode, and I do really like it. But, I can't go back right now, because of school and my TP costume.
A few thoughts here and there.
First of all, if Charles was out of the picture and never existed, it would have made CG, in general, more coherent. Charles' ending was a dues ex machina and the script writer finished R2 based on the accumulation of character motivations throughout the series. It is, however, a bit generic. I tend to believe are are no more new " ideas" in animu anymore.
I will have to say that CG is the ultimate example of a tragic hero and legacy of one's alter-ego. When I started episode 23 today, it had been 2-3 weeks since I watched R2 and I could STILL tell it was better than the mess from he previous who knows what.
Overall, CG was literally a roller-coaster ride: it started well, stayed consistent, cliff hanged at the end of season 1, start off weak at R2, stayed weak and incoherent throughout, went in a thousand directions ( if not ridiculously stupid) mid-way through and beyond, and ended with something that made somewhat sense.
Meh Code Geass is probably the only series I know that has a lot of twists.
