Heh, I suppose I would be interested in a game or 2.
Although the last time I played or even got new cards was a few years ago at this point.  :P

Well, it's all in god fun. Drafting is a good way to pick up new cards =]

tabletop gaming has 200 ft of table space that is open 24/4. I know lots of peeps play there. You may even be able to organize a tournament.

Also you may think of having some sort of panel.

I'm not sure what kind of panel I would host haha. I'm really not good enough at the game to offer sound advice. At least not in my opinion. Though it might be neat if we could get some of the good players in the area to come and chat.

The head of Table Top Gaming told a group of us YuGiOh players that they were going to try and get a Shonen Jump Tournament for Fanime next year. That there could probably attract an extra 500+ people to the convention.

Not sure about MtG, but I am sure if someone contacts the Head that they could see if a official MtG tournament could be organized

Yeah, that's probably a good idea. They would probably know a lot more about doing sanctioned tournaments than myself.

I've been away from the anime community for quite a while, nerding out to other things. One of these things is Magic: The Gathering.

I thought it would be fun to host some events for MtG as well as other card games, most likely Yu Gi Oh. I'm not sure what it takes to sanction them, but I'm sure it's doable at an event so large.

I was just curious to see how many people would want to take part in these sort of gaming events, and what kind of formats you would want to play?

I myself would love to just draft draft draft MtG all day long!

Hey guys, I was looking to make a plug suit for a cosplay and I was curious if anyone has ever made one before and if they have any words of advice for creating one.

Or if you think it's too complicated, but you feel that you are skilled enough to create one, I will gladly pay you for it.

Thanks a ton!

Yes, yes, and yes!!! That would be epic.

But how hard would they be to get to fanime?

yeah right....

In all honesty, they wouldn't be impossible. They tend to come out here quite a bit.

Then let's have at them!

Even if they were the same type of con, you couldn't even compare them because of the sheer size of the two. Fanime is 10,000 people whereas AX is roughly 50,000. Therefor they need a bigger venue, and probably have a little bit more money to throw around get some good stuff there.

Dealers and guests are also more willing to come to a convention of such a large size, it gets them more business.

Ideas and Suggestions / RE: Dance music!
June 02, 2007, 02:56:33 AM
Hey kids. I was curious to see what kind of music you would like to see moreso in the dances.

I was talking to a friend I met at the con and he was telling me that he wanted some lighter, more airy or ambient techno, but all he got was this thumping trance (which I love).

I was thinking that maybe it would be possible to change the room of the dance to have a few rooms next to each other, and all playing different sorts of music. Like hip hop, disco, trance, etc.

I definitely enjoyed it this year.

-Panels were amazing
-I LOVED how the arcade and tabletop gaming got put together
-I liked how all the video rooms were put on one side of the con
-I did not like how the dealers were selling magic: the gathering cards for unbeliveably high prices (that was probably the only thing that I ever got mad at) But this doesnt really count I don't think
-However, I was disappointed with the lack of good comedy AMVs in the AMV contest. Ouran High School with underlying yaoi plots in an AMV =! comedy.

Yep!

I tried to sell them this year in front of the rave, but they told me I couldn't ._.

Next year I plan to get a permit to sell them though and supply my fellow dancers with glowy goodness.

Gaming / Magic: the Gathering Draft tournament?

I was curious to see if anybody would be interested in a MtG draft. I was going to buy a booster box (hopefully of all three sets in the time spiral block), but I figured I'd see who was interested.

And if you guys wanted to pitch in some extra monies, I could buy some booster packs for prizes if you guys wanted to do a constructed competition.

so? what do you guys think?

Hmm, I think I could participate. I could just play constantly. Too bad it's not coming out earlier, I could have been able to oplay it over spring break *sad*

Panels and Workshops / Parapara Workshop!
March 23, 2007, 07:57:07 AM
Quote from: "SohmaYuki"ParaPara has been dead for years though. It was a fad that officially died in Japan last year(though it tried its hardest to last).

There's little secret to para para. It's based on small movements(side stepping is only about 5inches in each direction) and are movements are supposed to be fluid and njot grandiose.

Ah, I never really kept up with fads and whatnot.

It's just fun.

I'm not too worried over what's big in Japan or anything, I heard that disco and Elvis are big over there though XD
