Umm...how does the thing with the PDF file work? ^^; Am I supposed to print that out and fill it out and send it in or am I supposed to wait till Fanime?

:;sigh:: Well, I'm not sure whether or not I'll be able to attend the picnic anymore. I didn't make the stupid sign-up list for the karaoke contest, which means I'd have to do at-con sign-ups friday night, but because there's like 30 acts (35 if all the at-cons are filled, and there probably will be considering I sent in my submission the morning they opened pre-registration) it could be forever till I get to audition on Sat.

OH okay. Cuz since it just said masquerade I thought you meant masquerade and not the ball. Thanks for clearing that up!

Dealers Room / What are those dolls called?
May 12, 2007, 08:03:26 PM
Well, dollfies and obitsus are different. Dollfie only refers to the BJDs manufactured by the company volks. It's a common mistake to refer to other BJDs as dollfies. Obitsu is a manufactuterer of bjds that rivals Volks. Both companies have customizable dolls where you can change the head, the feet, the hands, and I believe some of the other parts. You can even fit dolls from one company onto bodies from other companies and vice versa. You can buy dollsthat have uprooted hair which means the hair is already on it or you can buy ones that don't have hair, which means you can buy different wigs for it. There are some that have eye holes and you can put in different acrylic eyes using eye puddy or there's the ones where you can either paint on the eyes yourself or stick on Anime-ish eye decals. The bodies can also be bought unpainted where you can paint it yourself or you can buy them already painted with a skin color (they usually come in like 3-4 different colors).

Quote from: "Megumi"I'm hoping someone will be selling volks dollfie. Did anyone see those last year? I'm dying to get a 60cm one but as mentioned by others, they are pretty darned pricey. 27 cm dolls are kinda cheap if you buy the parts seperately, least that's how it was for me. I bought a body for around 45 and a head with face-up for around 45 so my doll ended up being only about 90 bucks altogether. I've considered buying a 60cm head and sepetare body and buy the eyes so I can put them in myself and buy the paint so I could paint it myself. But I dunno.

o.O'' Someone was selling a Volks body for $45?!?! That is an incredible price. Was it new?

Junkyspot is going to be at the con, they sell Obitsus as well as a few resin dolls (DIM, Dollzone, Elfdoll), but they don't stock Volks.

Yeah, it was a new body. The volks EB beauty body. But it's not blushed, it's just natural skin color. It came with a head that you can put eye decals onto or paint on the face and I'm pretty sure that's why it was cheap. The seperate head I bought had eyelashes, blue eyes, and the lips were painted, but nothing more than that. Since it wasn't uprooted, I had to buy a wig.

Quote from: "sykoeent"Ooo ok Bootlegged anime.... or otherwise known as Anime DVD's from Taiwan... You knowI'm an impatient guy and during my lack of internet days of my post college hunt for a job, what better way to conserve money than buy a bootleg, right? Well... After watching Please Teacher! and falling in love with the story and art, Onegai Twins! come own... in bootleg form... I buy it and watch it. Disk 2 goes in and right at a cliffhanger... dvd dies... not the player, the dvd. How much does that suck?

OWNED BY PIRACY.

Karma, Karma.

I once bought a Saiyuki CD that was bootleg. The only reason I found out is because the songs on the CD that were supposed to be the TV sized versions were the full versions, so I had like 4-5 of the same songs on the CD twice -__- So I've now learned that any CD that has EVER ANIME as a logo is bootleg.

Quote from: "Asa_Gohan"do I have to dress up in order to attend? =O

That or bring a good amount of treats so everyone can have some...
Really I'd like everyone to dress 'elegant' like I put in the first post. A bit like what they want for the masquerade.
And because the masquerade is the same day it'a much easier for everyone! <3

Wait, isn't the masquerade on Sunday?

Quote from: "Lizchan33"I say come to the gathering late because pictures are at the end.
Also I want everyone to sign my book so I'll be making people sign as they come.
: D

Okay good! Everything should work out, since I signed up to sing as early as possible.

Ah crap! On Saturday I'm entering the karaoke contest and that's from 1pm-4pm (but you don't have to stay the entire time). Is it okay if I come to the gathering late?

Quote from: "RyannBTW"I've had my two figured out since before the official 2007 rules thread was posted. :P

That's cool. I thought I knew what I was doing at first but...I've changed my mind. I was debating on whether or not I should really do a song from the Anime my cosplay will be from or whatever. It does make me sad that they won't let you take an existing non-karaoke song and make it into a karaoke one, cuz a lot of great songs don't have karaokes. I don't undrestand how come of allt he lacus clyne songs in gumdan seed they chose "mizu no akashi" to make a karaoke for and not "shizuka na yoru ni" or "fields of hope", which are to me the better songs. Sorry, I'm rambling, lol ^^; oops...

Waa you're right! I've been so worried that while I was at work that they'd have posted it and everyone would've filled up all the spaces, and while I'm glad that there's nothing filled up yet, I still wanna know when they're goint to list the sign-ups ><

Crap...I don't even completely know for sure what songs I'm doing so I hope I dont' have to liste those when I sign up...but I bet you have to...I really dont' remember what it was like last year.

Hehe, I have that ^_^

I just shelled out $50 to buy myself Lunar: Silver Star Story COMPLETE with all the extras for my birthday XD
speaking of that, i remember that i have one of the little puppet figures from Lunar: SSS Complete. its sitting under my bed, unopened. i won it some time back playing video games, and its been there ever since.

OMG I've got a Ghaleon punching puppet too! Never use him. He's just so cute! He sits on myw all next to my Sakura Taisen (Sakura) doll andLunamaria figurines. On e-bay once one of the guys from Gaming Designs was trying to sell the Alex prototype punching puppet!

I really want the Japanese version cuz it's got most of my favorite seiyuu in it! XD I got the American one way WAY back...the complete one for Christmas. Believe it or not, I played Lunar backwards, starting from the 2nd game to the first. It didn't ruin anything for me though. The first one pulled me in more, but both are GREAT games. I bought the Japeanse lunar TWICE, because the first one woudl always get stuck after one point -__-. Oh well..it was worth the money! I can read most of the characters since I actually take japanese now. Cept for the Kanji...I can't read too much of it...and even if I don't understand what's being said, it's still cool to be able to read Japanese XD hiragana and katakana anyway..

I'm still not what a lot might consider a "true" lolita. People a lot of the time on the EGL community complain about my lace and ribbon being cheap..and a lot will tell you that cheap lace and ribbon does not equal lolita. But I don't want to be tied down by others standards, ya know? I know there are rules and crap but...I also have my OWN rules that I live by. The reason why I make half my stuff is cuz buying a lot of brand-named items is difficult and not possible for me and you can't wear that stuff much when it always has to be dry-cleaned -__-...but anyway...I look forward to seeing your outfit! :D
