OK. First I read the google map for directions on how to get to the convention.
At first I felt lost.Yesterday was my second try and I think I found it.
I drove for 2 hours looking for the streets(I saw the clock so yeah, I was somewhat lost)>_>.
Anyway,I saw a building that said convention so I think I found it.It had a giant Duck on top and had a big field next to it.
So is that the place the Fanimecon is held or am close?I know the street Almaden blv so I think I'm close. I heard its close to SJSU and I did see a big field with Baseball players practicing and big signs saying San Jose Giants. So was the place with the giant duck it or am I way of? Thank You
You are close...the building with the giant Duck is the Children's Museum. The convention center is two blocks east (think of driving towards the hills) of the museum. The biggest landmarks that will help you are the Marriott and Hilton hotels. The convention center is nestled between them. So if you know Almaden Blvd, get familiar with the San Carlos cross street.
You've gone way off course is you see the baseball field with the San Jose Giants sign. That is way South of downtown, that's right across the street from Spartan Stadium (2-3 miles or so away from the convention center).
Hope this helps.

I would skip work and go see them and Rock out with my Death Note in one hand, and my Death Note keychain in the other. ;D
It's probably impossible for the guys in charge to book them but that would be my dream to see them at least once.
Once that happenes, this former gang member turned anime fan can finally be at peace with my past.
It's not really impossible to book them. It's not like they're some huge group or anything, they're pretty small realistically.
Though it's sad that you'd bring your "Death Note" and keychain like that. You act as if those are the only songs they've done. I feel sorry for bands that are "only popular because they did an anime op". Because it's proof of their failure.

There are plenty of cons in other states that let you carry live steel as long as its peace bonded, but since California seems to be full of show-off idiots its best to not allow them at all.

wHAT? HOW CAN IT BE? I said I can keep it in my shealth so can I do that and not pull it out?
Are you asking why we have this policy? Because, people in the past have been irresponsible with their weapons.
It only takes one incident to ruin the fun for everyone. There have been several incidents in the past that the police have come out in force because of us...we don't want this to happen.
I said there was a no live steel rule, no exceptions. This includes peace-bonding the weapon so that you can't pull it out.
We are a little stricter on the rules here, because we want to be preventive rather than responsive (I.E. we rather an incident doesn't occur rather than having something occur and dealing with the consequences).
Before you ask why dealers can sell metal weapons, they can because the weapons are boxed up and put away after being sold, thus not in plain sight. CA also has a few rules about live steel being carried around in public (as well as how they are transported), so if you exit con with the weapon, your potentially going to have a run in with the police (Which we don't want to happen either because they will come back to Fanime to have a long talk...).
All in all, we make the rules for your safety and to avoid problems with local law enforcement. We also have to adhere to the laws that California and City of San Jose.
P.S. Having a sharp point metal sword out in public is generally a bad idea. Just saying.
