The only problem in going to "no name" is that I don't drive, or have the cash to do bus runs. Otherwise, I'd be all for it! =/

So far as Great America, I know where that is. Though that park is more like, around the corner and down a -lot- of blocks from me. I walked over that way once with my fiancee and his friend for in-n-out burger and needless to say I was exhausted by the time we got there. Which I think that's more closer to the Yahoo and Mcafee building. ><;

Hmm. Kinda strange that the fiance and/or friend won't give you a lift to No Name. Yahoo has a weeknight Eurogames group, but that's far from you. What would be the nearest coffee shop or hangout place?

Steve Jackson Games during the break! I'll probably bring Chez Geek, since I OD'ed on Munchnkin Cthulhu over Gamesday. :P

Yep. No excuses to miss out on No Name. Friendly bunch, although you'll have to take the initiative for small talk. I run a Munchkin or other Steve Jackson Games game during the break.

Thanks for the Meetup link!

So was the Obon Festival worth going to? I'm thinking of hitting the Mountain View one this weekend, but if the SJ one was just "okay", I'll pass on the MV one. (Ugh, parking!)

Thanks!

During the break, I'll have Steve Jackson Games' Chez Geek! Free Munchkin card game promos!

Back's finally getting better and Steve Jackson Games sent me some demo stuff so as a *tentative* plan...

Munchkin game during the break (after getting food, of course)!
* Munchkin Classic with six expansions!
* Free Munchkin bookmarks!
* Cthulhu Dice too!

Keep up the good work.

Just got the prize support for this event!

I'll be giving away *two* StarCraft II beta keys during the event. One will be given to the winner of the StarCraft boardgame at 10am (assuming a full game). Another will be randomly given away to anyone who plays a StarCraft or WarCraft boardgame during the event (one chance per game played). Maximum one prize per player.

To plug the upcoming StarCraft II computer game, I'll be hosting a Fantasy Flight Games StarCraft Celebration event at Gamesday, April 17th, at the Los Altos Library. The StarCraft game starts at 10am. We have three seats left.

I'll also have other Blizzard FFG games to play throughout the day:
* World of Warcraft: The Boardgame
* World of Warcraft: The Adventure Game
* Warcraft

The StarCraft boardgame is on the complicated side, but if you can play Munchkin or Magic, you should be able to pick up the Warcraft games.

Send me a PM if you'd like to reserve a seat!

Cedric.

ps. Free random anime for anyone who reminds me to bring 'em. Ditto for the teeny-tiny Fantasy Flight Games Cthlhu mini's.

Another T-Shirt gathering sounds good imo as well, or another gaming night. It can be done before Fanime, it just needs to be planned accordingly.

Well, if you don't mind a Gamesday  ;D I'll be hosting a StarCraft Celebration event at Gamesday on the 17th, in Los Altos. Free random anime. More info in another post in a few days...!

I know quite a few of you play Munchkin, so I figured I'd post here.

MiMV meets every Tuesday at 7:00PM at Red Rock Coffee at 201 Castro St, Mountain View, CA 94041. Join us for Munchkin and other board games! If you like the Munchkin series of card games by Steve Jackson, you should join us! We meet weekly on Tuesdays at Red Rock Cafe in Mountain View. Munchkin is a unique parody card game where you kill monsters, get treasure, and stab your friends in the back. There's a whole lot of sneakiness and fun involved. Experienced players and Newbies alike are welcome.

Myself, I bring along Dominion. If you like Magic, you'll like Dominion. If you like Magic, but had to quit playing it, you'll may like it even more... :D

Hmm.

Only problem with an anime marathon is, of course, picking the anime. I'd suggest a "Just one episode" anime night. Bring your single favorite anime episode. I'm going with Natsume YaknowIforgottherestoftheanimetitlebutitsaboutJapaneseghostsandit'smoreofasliceoflifeshowthananythingscary.

And, also of course, we'll have a room for games in case you're not interested in whatever's playing at the moment.

Nina, one of the Foothill Anime regulars, has a house we can use in Los Altos Hills. I think it has three screens and a BBQ pit...

"Through January 31, all manga and graphic novels are buy one, get one half price."

Thanks for the replies. I ended up with Sims 2 Double Deluxe -- on sale again at Best Buy for $10 -- and some expansion packs from Fry's at $15 apiece (retail is $20). I think I dropped $85 on a month's entertainment (helps to be sick). I'm playing Pleasantville a second time, everyone's a witch, it's not good to cheat on your wife when your child's present, I found the secret society, the cowplant is eating all the dormies, and I need to open a new dormitory for all the zombies. :P

Ugh -- Sorry I wasn't at Anime Palace. Was sick all of December. Will bring Apples next time!

Well, if anyone's up for tabletop games, drop me a PM. I usually go to Gamesday and Bay Area Peninsula Gaming.

Lookee whut Santa brought me:
* Ghost Stories: Asian-ghost themed exorcism game.
* Dominion: Deckbuilding game, similar to Magic.
* Cosmic Encounter: FFG edition.
* Attribute: Apples to Apples party game.
* Once Upon a Time: Dark Stories: In which Hansel and Gretel get eaten.

Apples to Apples went well at Ryu's Bday a few years ago. I can bring games for a Party Games night.

Feh. It didn't help that I did my shopping months ago, but all I saw was a personal DVD player and external hard drive at Target. A *long* time ago, I got a Compaq Presario for $350.

Ended up buying at non-BF prices from Boards & Bits online retailer...  :D
* Dominion
* Ghost Stories
* Return of the Heroes: Shadows of the Dragon
* Attriubute
* Once Upon a Time: Dark Tales

Hmm.

Fry's has a WoW: Battle Chest for $15. Worth buying?

Anime Palace will have tables set up for the Maid RPG games!

QuoteYou are a maid, having worked dutifully for the Saionji family for several years. You are also a shy albino princess who does odd jobs for the yakuza, and train with the three-section staff. Your peer Maya is an outgoing young maid with freckles, a streak of being greedy for sweets, and who also happens to be a military cyborg.

Your master is a kind teenager who lives in the mansion alone, but is a bit of a train otaku. He is also a cursed werewolf. With amnesia.

Somewhere between doing the laundry and preparing lunch, the master is kidnapped by evil ninjas. They escape through the basement of the mansion, which contains a portal to the Netherworld. It's up to you to get him back before dinnertime.

All in a day's work for a maid!

Maid is an light comedy anime-themed tabletop role-playing game for three or more players. The very easy to learn rules-light system, complete with random events which drive the story forward, will have you playing the game with friends only fifteen minutes after opening the book. Maid is also the first ever Japanese role-playing game to be translated and released in English.

Hmm...I wouldn't line up at VC...just saying.
Well then I probably can't tempt you with all of the specials going on at Bath & Body Works. ;) Seriously, we're having some insanely cheap stuff. A mixed bag of $150 worth of product for only $15 with any $40 purchase, among many other things.

Well, until there's a "Bath, Beer, and Pizza" collection, us guys aren't gonna wake up that early.
