When people ask me how many people go to Fanime, I tell them "around 40,000". Is my guesstimation anywhere near accurate?
I know there are many ways to look at numbers:
- How many are actually Clockwork Academy attendees
- People who buy badges more than once (like on Friday and then on Sunday)
- People who don't buy badges
Can someone shed some light here beyond the cookie cutter response in the past that used to be, "no way to know"?
A staff member mentioned a number around 27,000 for last year but they never mentioned if that was with or without steamclock attendees.
I'm 100% positive it's not 40,000 though. "Otakon" barely cracks at 35,000 and that's the 2nd largest con in the US.
Ah thanks. Seems like I'm off by a magnitude of maybe 10k people!

This isn't likely, as buying 2 days is more expensive than buying a weekend pass.

- People who don't buy badges
I wouldn't count these in the official attendance.

But I bet there are thousands of unbadged attendance. It does count towards maximum occupancy numbers though
