Looks like there's less room for gatherings to be awesome in this year, and since we are so very awesome let's get on the ball so we can snag the space and time we want! If you're interested in kicking beastman/anti-spiral butt with me, here's what I'd like to see from you!

redroses3164 (Yoko cosplayer) is very busy, last time I checked, but I'm sure she will appreciate someone taking over the whole organization of this gathering. Anyway, I'll swing by again to take group pics and what not. Right now, I'm thinking of Saturday at noon at the front fountains, so I can can get lunch after the photo shoot XD (I plan on co-hosting a panel later that afternoon, so I don't wanna miss out)
I also find it odd that the 2010 gathering was smaller than the 2009 one. Anybody know why?
Well i took over because i noticed that nobody was doing anything, and I figured since I was the one to scream at people last year anyways I might as well start something, and if Redroses wanted back in I'd be more than happy to co-host. The gathering was smaller probably because as new series come out and as people make new costumes old ones get retired. That's my hypothesis.
I'll keep Saturday at noon in mind. I think that one of the large gatherings will be taking a spot as nice as that, so I don't know if we'll get noon, but I'll try to avoid that panel if possible. I have a lot of other gatherings I attend, and one other one that i host, so I can't have conflict with those first and foremost, or you guys won't have somebody to yell at you. XD
And I'll make a photographer list for you. I don't know if we can count you towards attendance if you're not going to be cosplaying though, which means we still need 3 people to make a gathering.
Yeah, I won't be cosplaying.
Actually, you can go ahead and schedule the gathering at the same time as my planned panel, if it comes down to that (I just remembered that Redroses had to miss the 2009 gathering in exchange for a panel, so who am I to complain? XD)
Ahh, well I'll still do my best to avoid the panel at least. There's no point in hosting the gathering when people aren't able to make it.

Since one person doesn't make a gathering and I'd really like to play around as Kittan more.

I watched "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" on NYE and it makes me wanna dye my hair blue. Other than that, I got nothing.

Speaking of more modest dresses, I'd personally love to see another Ms. Yomako this year. Or a Yoko wearing that white blanket thing with cat ears on it :)

owahhhh, I'm planning for the gurren gathering this Fanime (as long as I can fit it around the busy schedule, haha)

Avairrianna...yes there was a GL car. It had Simon and Nia on it and was rather awesome.
Kuro_mazu: It'll be great to have you...I'll keep Sunday in consideration...It really depends on what days everything else is. Monday tends to be slower so I'm personally leaning towards Monday morning, but if Sunday works better we can do an afternoon thing to avoid the mass of gathering that is bleach.

Ok, I think we should start talking hardcore about what day and time we want. (Hardcore mandatory, it's more manly that way!)
I personally only have 3 time-chunks that work.
Friday mid-day or so (I run another gathering that's gonna start at 6, and too early and everyone will still be settling hotel issues if they arrive then)
Saturday morning (can't go too late here because of another gathering that's planning for before the Masq)
Monday morning/mid-day (iffy since it's last day of con...plus go to late and people will be checking out)
Unfortunately Sunday's shot for me...I have too many things going on that day.
So preferences?
I like Saturday morning.
Counting over on cosplay.com that's 3 for Saturday. I haven't heard any other opinions so I think we'll go with that.
For those who are more busy on Saturday...is there a specific time in the earlier half of the day that would work better for you?

I attend the Trinity Blood gathering...which looks like it's moving to Saturday around 2. And I use full-body make-up for it so 12 would most definitely be cutting it too close for comfort. 11 or 10 would probably work though.
So unless anybody would like it earlier for some reason I think we'll try for Saturday at 11. This is still tenative, since it depends on what the large gatherings pick and if there are too many conflicts.
Oh shit! I love trinity blood and didnt even realise the gathering was on the same exact day, dont wanna get out giant cosplay to take pics though :/ who are you going to be this year?

Well TB was on Sunday but because the masquerade was moved to that day and the organizer is competing in it they had to switch the day over to Saturday.
I cosplay Leon Garcia de Asturias, believe it or not. XD Working on getting a full artbook version done atm...still in the anime-esque stage. Do you have a TB cosplay...or one you want to do? And if you have time you can still come and hang at the gathering no matter what you're wearing! We have the tea party afterward too.

Just took a look at the gathering list to see how Saturday morning was panning out...and 11 is a no go. 3 gatherings already have the spot...with 2 of them being LARGE! So we gotta push the gathering up to 10:30 or 10... I'll put my vote in for 10:30 because A) it's later and B) there's only an event there right now...no gatherings. If this is getting to be too early for people than we should probably look at a less busy day, like Friday or Monday...
SO I NEED OPINIONS PEOPLE! I'm giving you until NEXT MONDAY to state your opinion before I submit our time slot request for Saturday at 10:30. This is mostly because I can see this dragging out for a while and then we loose out on all the good days/times/locations.

I'm aware that this can be uncomfortably early for some. Hell, I need to get up early enough to put on my eyebrows before going down and I need to be there early to sign in at the cosplay table and meed the early-comers. And I'm normally a sleep-till-noon kind of person. But this is CON! *does Sparta kick* WHO NEEDS SLEEP WHEN WE HAVE COSPLAY! SHOW US YOUR FIGHTING SPIRIT!
That being said, because I understand this can be considered early is why I'm giving the option of changing days. I wish I could do full-body make-up and get into costume in an hour so I could put this at 12, I really do. If anybody finds me a time-pocket I'll be glad to oblige with this. ;)

Still getting replies from my spam trickling in...but here's something that comes up:
The 10:30 time is too close to the pokemon gathering and we have people who want to attend that. SO! Would pushing it up to just flat-out 10am work? Or at this rate should we just go for something on Monday so we can have a later time?

Well that settles it then! I can't do Sunday...and we have other people who can't do friday or monday. What I can do is poke my good friend the TB gathering organizer and see when the start time is and MAYBE have a later start time. See these strings? Imma gonna pull them. >=3

OK Guys. So busy times for me are slowing down a tad. And I just realized we never discussed a location! (hurp durp)
Last year we were at the Fountains in Front Convention Entrance. And this worked well I think. The fountains themselves made for EPIC background detail barf. But the problem being we attracted a lot of photographers last year and the entrance got blocked. So I'm going to swing it around to the side a bit. We'll still be at the fountains, but on the Hilton side (because the gatherings on either side of us are taking the Marriott side and i don't want do deal with crowding.
So to make sure we keep this amazing time spot, I went and submitted our request.
SO THE GREAT KITTAN-SAMA HAS DEEMED IT AND SO IT SHALL BE!!!
Also going to start taking shot requests. I'll compile a basic list when brain is less fried.
Sorry for my prolonged absence. I am stationed at Yokota AFB so as you can imagine I've been just a bit busy as of late. I will still be able to attend as I haven't committed to any other gatherings so any time is fine.

HALKO MAMOI IS COMING BACK TO PREFORM AND HAVE PANEL, So in honor of the one who sung TTGL songs: Sorario days and happily ever after coming back for her 3rd year in a row. I propose we have a second gathering at music fest during her performance.
I will most likely not be able to go. I have a very packed costume schedule this year (10 costumes so far!) So won't be in Kittan anymore after the first part of the day.
I do encourage that anybody who wants to should talk about it at the gathering and work out something though, that sounds like it'd be fun!

I, as Rossiu, will be using this venue to launch my campaign for Supreme Commander of Earth. Simon has done well enough as a military leader but in these times of peace his brand of leadership is no longer what mankind needs. We need a measured, controlled and sustainable level of growth; not the freewheeling and frankly out of control use of Spiral Energy that Simon has employed in his tenure. I am also announcing my choice for second in command will be Viral who has proven himself under this and the previous regime as a capable leader and warrior if we should be threatened again.

Oi, wanted to say unfortunatly I wont be part of gathering :( (DAT CAPE) and money issues, and can't complete in such short notice and was really busy and yada yada. HOWEVER I will be still attending (wouldn't miss for any reason) and will be filming the whole thing for the world to enjoy

But if you're gonna come anyways and have the wig...you could always wear a casual version. I've done that for gatherings where I didn't have the costume done and had just as much fun. So let me know if you want me to move you off the cosplayer list for sure or if you wana come casual.

Sweet, then it looks like I'm all set for Fanime next year.
I'll be there as time-skip Yoko with my group. We have a young Simon, Nia, Rossiu, Kiyoh, Kittan, Viral, Attenborough, Leite and Boota. (You don't have to list us all, but we should all be there.)
I don't have a preferred time/day yet because Fanime's schedule isn't up, but I'll come back when I get a time in mind. :)
But of course I have to list you all! It helps our numbers for official thingie-things and makes it so that others know who's there as what for photo planning purposes. Especially since there are so many fun characters on that list that aren't normally seen! SO EXCITED!!!

Haha We kept saying that we'd be the entire gathering, I didn't think we were actually big enough to make one. I believe everyone's pre time-skip except for myself (I'm so left out in my own group lol). I'm doing this version (this is me http://images.cosplay.com/photos/30/3019254.jpg except I have a rifle now). Boota is going to be a kigurumi, nothing super special, but he'll be there! lol
We want to make gunmen (King Kittan and Lagann), but I don't know what the status is on those, so I wouldn't bother listing them, I'll update here if they get made.
Ahh ok her Bounty Hunter outfit! Coolbeans on the Boota, was wondering what the approach was going to be since I've seen Gijinka, Human/Garlock, and even full sized fursuits.
Out of curiosity, if you can make the gunmen would that be 2 more cosplayers...or replacing some already there? Either way I hope it works out...WOULD LOVE PHOTOS WITH MY AWESOME KING KITTAN!!!

The gunmen would be replacing Simon and Kittan, or rather they'd be inside of their respective gunmen.

I've heard the version I did called "bounty hunter Yoko" also, I think a lot of people "fuse" the two in their head, I'm just not used to referring to it that way myself. :) It doesn't bother me though, call it what you like, so long as no one argues with me when I don't call it that. lol

So sumissions have opened up for gatherings...that means we need to nail down a time!
Due to gatherings I'm attending and others needs I'm thinking Friday, in the earlier part of the day. Exact time can be nailed down based on limitations of others and what other large gatherings pick. How does 12 or 1 sound to people? I might be able to push it a little later if need be but not by much.
Also Location! This also will depend on what other gatherings are going on when we sign up...but the side of the fountains (or ex-fountains now) worked really well for us last year. Does anybody have any objections to having it there again? (I'd probably move it over to the Marriott side though, to avoid the major construction of woah that's going on next to the Hilton side.) Also any back-up location thoughts if that place is taken? Keep in mind that we have drawn a lot of photographers in the past so need the space for them and us to stand.

Sorry for the extended silence on the thread! Life got even more crazy than usual here but I managed to squeeze out some time to get stuff chiseled out (much like my manly abs ;) ) and everything submitted. SO!
We're meeting on Friday at 1 on the Marriott side of the flowerbed (ex-fountains) in front. From there we should have space for everybody as well as epic construction (of Kamina City) in the background for shots!
So now what would be most epic is photo ideas! Gimme a list of what you want done and I'll do all that is in my power to make it so! Up to the gathering I'll compile them together. It'd be awesome if people could let me know here since it lessens the occurrences of me running around like a chicken with my head cut off at the gathering proper to make sure I got everything (as those who have attended in years past have seen me do)
And CommandantCat that would be EPIC! I just gotta ask that it be turned down during the gathering itself so people can hear what's going on...as I don't know if I can get my hands on my friend's STFU-megaphone.

Also, one gunmen cosplay or art piece i hope to see one day is a combo of all the Team Dai-Gurren gunmen. Here is what I mean:

As for the posing Yokos...I can't say I'm familiar with that video and certainly can't speak for others. So if you'd like it to happen feel free to bring reference and we'll see what we can do!

So our group had a bunch of stuff come up. As far as I know, we lost everyone except myself (Yoko), Nia, Viral, and Attenborough, and Viral and Attenborough are only maybes now.
Also, I'm going to be Maid Yoko now, not Time-Skip.
Okay I updated the list. Sorry to hear plans fell through though. I'll keep the maybes on for now just keep me posted on if they're making it or not.
