Updating the thread now that it's March!
Regarding planning, four of us that cosplay TB are planning to compete in the Masq costume contest this year, so that will have an impact to day/time for scheduling our gathering.
Anyone has updates to costumes, preferences for day/time--start posting!
;D

As noted on the first post of the thread, TB cosplay is NOT required for the informal tea party! And I certainly remember you (who could ever forget your famous confession!!) and it would be great to see you. Always good to have some extra people who can help with photos, too.

It's January 2013! Year of the 13 Sugar Cube Tea has begun!

At this point, there's plenty of time to get costumes done and ready for the gathering.
But because this is Trinity Blood, feel free to start flailing now!
:D

Now that's it's January....anyone else interested in leading this gathering?
If not, I'll work with Charis and B to get this changed over by whatever deadlines B is setting for things.

Oh no! We're going to miss you!!! Although, those are very valid and understandable reasons for not making it to Fanime.

From what I've seen on the cosplay.com JK thread, it looks like a JK/TK gathering would definitely be wanted next year!
If no one can step up to organize it, I'd be willing to do it. If someone else does want to do it, I also run the Trinity Blood gathering, so I'd be okay with letting someone else run this one.

She was the first Inquisition member last year, actually.
;)

If you follow the threads to the pictures from the gathering you will see one of Tenkage's lovely Sister Paula costumes.

Awesome coverage there, oh Charis!!
Do read directions carefully--also the TAP website and their staff at the stores tend to be very knowledgeable and can help with recommendations if needed.

For painting resin--the Quik Cast stuff at least, some comments.
You need to let them cure for a few days, per directions.
There's always a little cleaning with xacto blades, dremmels, or sand paper you will need to do. Depending on how good your mold got made, better means less clean up.
After casting, wash them off with soapy water. Let dry overnight.
Then some layers of gesso or primer is needed for most paints to stick, but then you can use either Testors enamels or various acrylic paints after that.
Then cover that with some kind of clear coat or Modge Podge.

Good luck and have fun with it!

An Esther! Yeah!!! :D

Resin:
TAP Plastics
They are online and in stores in various areas, including SJ, so you can just go there and not pay shipping.

I recommend for resin casting things like arrows, etc, the Quik Cast. The resin sets in less than 15 minutes so you can make more objects in less time.
For molds I use the RTV Silicone for making really awesome molds, even if it's very messy to make with this stuff.
Or the Easy Mold Silicone Putty which is a push your object into it mold. Less messy, faster molds but the molds are often not as precise.
NOTE: the Putty can be found at many craft stores too.

The clear resins you can get at the craft stores are better for making gems or when you need clear/semi-clear colored objects cast. Most of these need 12-24 hours to set for one piece.

Good luck, and if you do make Alessandro, that would be a lot of fun!!

@Nightroad: HUUUUG! That would be awesome to have you back again!!
Ooh, a Pope! I don't think we've had one at Fanime, could be fun!!!!
Or do another Abel, whatever you want and have time for.

:D

That will be awesome to have you join us, Adnarimification!
As for finding us, hope it will reassure you to say it's usually pretty easy. We have our gathering in the main zone, which once you've gotten to the con is easy to find.
If we have to relocate due to construction, B will assist us all with the gathering areas. There's always a cosplay events table in the main lobby to assist in finding gatherings, too.

Hello dear Manik!
Helga or Seth would be fine! Wear whichever you would prefer!!
Not sure yet about Cain or not for Fanime. Never know about that brother of mine.... @_@

And I might wear my Empire Abel....we shall see!

Maybe we can look at Friday?
Saturday and Sunday are always a nightmare for planning.

Yeah for JK again next year!!
I'll decide on Sairin or Enki depending on who's wearing what and what would be more fun. Enki has more character interactions and is a newer costume for me, but we'll see.
:D

Thank you, B. I do appreciate all the effort you and your staff put in to make cosplay an official part of the con.
And I also appreciate that you keep trying to make things better every year.

B,

Thank you and your staffers for helping us organize gatherings around the construction!
The photographers that came out to the gathering I ran did a great job working with us! And some of the other gatherings I attended, they also put a lot of good energy into working with the cosplayers.

One point of feedback: some of us did not get certificates for organizing the gatherings.
It was real hit and miss from what I saw, we were told to check back the next day and they would be there for us, and nope.
It's a little disappointing because this is second time this has happened to me (can't remember if it was last year or the year before). It's not an end of the world horrible thing to never get your certificate, but it's nicer when you do get them. And someone who won't be able to make it back next year, never got their's either.
I hope you can see this is corrected for next year? (But see my point this is a second year this has happened.)
Thank you!

We're at that point of looking forward and backward, eh? :P

And speaking of looking back--
Greg has pictures up!

Then go to Cosplay and you'll find the gallery in there!
Oh some of these are GREAT shots--I mean--oh my.... XD

If I find other galleries up, I'll let everyone know. If anyone else sees galleries up--please share the link.

So 2012 is over....
I updated the first thread per B's directions.

This year was fun to see the return of familiar faces and it was exciting to see some new ones! Thank you for joining us!!
I hope we got the photo set ups everyone wanted. Although I'm sad we didn't have time for the tea party, but this seemed a crazy year for a lot of people.

Hopefully next year we can have the return of the after-gathering tea party. It's 2013 so we should have 13 sugar tea party!

I don't have many pictures on my camera from TB--sadly they are all after the gathering--it's just too hard to take pictures when you're trying to be sure everyone gets in shots, check on requests.... So I'll have to rely on the other photographers.

I'll be checking in on this thread over the months if there's any planning/plotting for next year. ;)

Not a complete collection of the gathering, but some of it anyway!
It was a very unusual type of gathering, but I enjoyed my first FF gathering.

I'd like to thank Tenkage for taking almost all of the Bleach gathering pics on my camera. Because of her efforts, I have a lot of photos to share:
