That is awesome!
Especially the one in the middle front. Really captured the look with the draping of the fabric! And looks like a great job on the mask, too.
Some of the Hollow designs are good for fast costumes, if you had someone that wanted to do something last minute. And the rest of them...a lot of work.

The question is, will Gillians eat pizza, if they come?
:)

Now that you have confirmed Sunday, I'll be going as Kenshin.
Saturday is Bleach day, Sunday is the Ruroken gathering day.
Thanks for updating with info!

Did they actually pick a time for the Shonen Jump Gathering yet?

Then add whatever time is probably needed for that gathering, pick a location slightly off the Jump spot to reform for this one? Therefore getting everyone out of being 'lost in the shuffle'?
#784
A little bit after the Shonen Jump gathering sounds good.

#785
I'll join the lunch group!
It should be a lot of fun!
#786
I might have a random Jedi character done by then....but if this was on the same days as other gatherings or I had more costumes, I wouldn't do it.
#787
Should I use an "oro?" to that post?
;)

It does depend on the time and date for this gathering. That's going to to have a lot to do with the decision.
Allthough I'd be happy to go as Kenshin for the Shonen Jump group, because it's a bit of a personal thing, seeing as I got to meet Nobuhiro Watsuki at SDC 06 in the costume.
But if I have to go with the Bleach group for this gathering, I'll be okay with that, too.

The thing about the villains is some of them made quite an impression even for short appearances.
Depending on what you chose, and how you make your costume, you might be able to "hide" some of your belly, even if you're working on it.

There's a lot of good villians it'd be great to have at a Fanime group. You'd know which ones you'd have a good chance of making the costume and having the best look for. And some of these probably have not been done that often.
There's Aoshi or the rest of his bunch of Han'nya, Hyottoko, Beshimi, Shikijo. (Sure they got killed off fairly quick but they sure lived on in tons of flashbacks! :P )
Shishio, and the rest of the Juppon Gatana. Would be fun to have a Cho someday--Cho v Sano...yeah!
Enishi. (The rest of Enishi's crew in the manga from the Jinchuu arc wouldn't be well recognized because the OVA didn't follow the manga very closely.)
Raijuta.
Another good choice would be Jin-e. He's was a big part of the first story arc, and also got a number of backflash appearances.

Anyone that's familiar with the series would recognize these antagonists!
Hope you find something you like!

The Arrancar version of nachos would truly be a scary thing to behold, I'm sure! (Thinks of ideas for bogus ads for Las Noches....)
Good point about Aizen and Tea in a place of no water--he must have a secret kitchen or something.

Pizza place....hmmm....
Could also see photo ops like Rukia showing soul reapers how to use straws....
This whole thing could provide some very unique photo ops and great stories to tell in addition to everything else this group is doing. The day is shaping up like it will be very entertaining!

Depending on the day and time (how close to the other get togethers), I would show up as either Kenshin or Ukitake.
But I'll certainly join in this gathering!
#791
Do Arrancars eat pizza?
;)
Can SJ survive a large, hungry Bleach group seeking out a place to eat?
(Sounds like a funny adventure story starting here.)

That's a very good point about picking a place that could deal with a large crowd and get everyone through with food and bills paid in a comfortable fashion.

Yeah! A Saito with police uniform. Awesome!
*thinks of all the fun photo ops with the different characters we can set up*

#793
Yes, there is someone who said they'd do a Battousai version.
Now, what I want is for a Saito in the police uniform, too!
Then we can all have some real fun with photo ops.
#794
I'd have to think it through. It would certainly be fun for photo ops, and while I do have making kimono down to a snap now, there's the other stuff to work through. If I didn't have to remake the hakama by sticking with white....
Unless someone else posts they've got a Battousai version, then you're set!
#795
ooh! Saito from Shinsengumi times!!!
That will be awesome!

Sorry to report I don't have a Battousai version. That would be some rework to make one.
#796
Just to toss a little less common character as yet another possiblity for long red hair:
Youko Nakajima from Twelve Kingdoms?
#797
Ukitake - Bleach (finished)
Kenshin - Rurouni Kenshin (finished)
Sairin - Twelve Kingdoms (started)
Abel Nightroad (manga version) - Trinity Blood (friends just talked me into this one, although they don't cosplay, the bums! Not sure I'll have it done in time for Fanime, but I'll try!)

Quote from: "Kanzake"you sorta kinda gave me tips on cosplay.com o______O i just started freshman year college yay no time to build but i gotta somehow

Ah!  :D
Running on different boards with working lots of overtime this week at work, I'm a little frazzled right now.

So if you're dorming, that would make it little trickier, but probably still doable. If you got your stuff together for one of the breaks, or did a half hour  here or there over a period of a time, you'd have them done in time for Fanime!
You could also try the cardboard katana method and customize off of that.

And yes, I enjoyed Fanime last year, and that's why I want to go back this year.
#799
I'll be there in 08 to join in the fun.
I visited Fanime last year for my first time and saw the group cosplay. It looked like you all had such fun.
I'll wear my Ukitake costume that I finished for this year's San D Con.

If anyone working on those prop swords (Sogyo no Kotowari) wants some help, I'll point you to the website I am setting up for some others on how I made mine. Just let me know!

And thanks to a post on cosplay.com....
I'll be there in 08!
I visited Fanime for one day last year, and really enjoyed the atmosphere. I didn't go with any costumes, but will next year.

So count me in for the Ruroken fun!
I'll bring my Kenshin costume I made for San D Con 06 (and since fixed a few things on. Seems I am in good company on having to rush to finish somethings before a Con...?)
It will be so much fun to get to cosplay with a group of Ruroken fans!

RE: kimono
They are not that difficult to sew, actually.
There's a couple current kimono patterns you can get from Butterick or Simplicity that may not be 100% accurate, but close enough!! Maybe you could do a little customizing.
Watch for Jo Ann's to put them on sale for $1..
You've got plenty of time to get a costume made if you start preparing now.
