I'm a little confused about whether "bare shoulder" is allowed or not. The cosplay I plan on wearing has a vest, and no sleeves. Here is a picture.

Its somewhat formal attire, I'm just not sure if its formal enough. Not to mention things like the boots, I'm not sure if that's not quite formal enough either (there's no armor on mine, its just boot covers). I'd appreciate input, thank you!

The vest since it is part of the cosplay should be fine.  It is still keeping with the formal theme, I would suggest you try to wear maybe a long sleeve underneath if you can but that is just a suggestion.  As for the boots that would be a now.  They tend to be too bulky and tend not to stick with the formal theme.  Let me know if that helps.

That definitely helps a lot, thanks very much for getting back to me! As for the shoes, if it helps, I have a picture of me wearing mine, they aren't very bulky at all, but I can see how they may not fit with the formal theme. Here's the picture.

If you can, please let me know if this changes anything, or if they're still not OK. I really appreciate it, thank you!

After seeing the shoes, I still would have to say that it is not up to par in regards to semi formal attire so I would have to say no.  Sorry.

Alright, nothing I can do then haha. Thanks a lot for taking the time to consider, I appreciate that.

would this dress be ok? i'm not quite finished with it yet, but the is the basic dress (all i'm going to do is add details)
since my picture is kinda bad,  The peice of the petti coat that is showing through, isn't going to always be see through-ish like in that picture, i have things i'm going to put under it that i was just to lazy to put on. (also, the petti coat is going to be a little bit higer, since its sort of obvious in the pic that it was falling down XD )

and, knee length dresses are ok right? cause thats just about wear it falls.

i am guessing long leggings are excluded from the ball, but i will still ask it.

are leggings banned?

It depends on how the leggings are worn.  If you are just wearing leggings by themselves that is a no.  But if you are wearing leggings underneath a dress of the right length (using it like stockings) then it is fine.  I am not sure how you are going to wear the leggings, but if you could provide a sample picture or drawing I could give you more of a definite answer.  But that is what I have for now.

Oh, I usually wear then under my dress like stockings because i am uncomfortable show my legs.

please excuse my horrible art. v.v i am not good at what i am going to choose. xD

So based on your sketch, I would say the leggings would be ok since they are under the dress but my only concern is that it makes the dress not see that formal.  If it is a really nice top or dress then it wouldn't be a problem but from the sketch I saw that it said tube dress and that might not look formal enough. It is really hard to gauge unless I see the actual outfit but from what I see on the sketch, you may need to spruce up the outfit a bit.  Also, I don't know if you had this answered, but the outfit does not have to be black and white.  As long as it is semi formal attire or so, the color does not really matter.

Would something like this (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v60/stardreaming/2729236-1.jpg) be okay? The shoes aren't in the picture but they'd just be normal brown loafers. If not, what about this (http://www.onemanga.com/Heart_no_Kuni_no_Alice/1/00-cover/), the first girl down from the top? Sorry for the tilted picture, by the way.

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier.  I missed the post.  But what you are wearing and the changes you said you will be making to the outfit should gt you into the Ball.  So no problems there.  See you at the BWBall.

Would they not let me in for this?

If the outfit was cleaned up a bit more, the would let you in.  Since it is semiformal, having the shirt tucked in and the tie in the round the neck so you look neat would be the only suggestion I have.  Other than that, you should be able to get into the ball with the outfit.

Helmet would be a no.  If it was a mask then it would have to be part of a cosplay.  If not then that would be a no also.  I hope that helps.

sorry if repost.

is [bleach] shinigami (keikogi + hakama) formal enough? w/o cpt's cloak?

ty

This is my first time attending the ball and I read the dress code and it states skirts and dresses not to be more than two inches above the knee. The dress I was planning on wearing is a little shorter and halter style so my arms and shoulders will be exposed. Please let me know if you feel this would be inappropriate.

If you could send me a picture of what that would look like, I could give you a definite answer.  But I think the cosplay should be formal enough.

Having the shoulders exposed is not a problem, the length of the dress is a concern though.  As long as it is not shorter than 3 inches from the knees. If it is, then the dress would not be appropriate for the Ball.  I hope that helps.

Going through past posts, I'm pretty sure this is appropriate, but I just wanted to double-check:

Would this dress be okay? The shortest part is just at the top of my knees, but I definitely have time to hunt down an underskirt if necessary.

Well I'll set my hopes high seeing as it is a mask part of a cosplay :p

Ah, is that what you're wearing? <333 Awesome! I can't wait to see it.

You're still my "date," right? ;D We should track down Mie and ask her along, too.
