I was sad that we couldn't stay long, but it was awesome seeing everyone. I was the Belarus with the large flag and my friend was Belgium. :D

Hi! :D I was the Spain that said hello to you guys at the stoplight, haha. You both looked fantastic, I'm sorry I didn't see you at the gathering or I'd have taken your pictures! D:

Oh, hi ^^
Yeah, we didn't end up staying long. Only enough to get a few pictures and see the proposal, then we headed out. D:
Wish I could have gotten more pictures though, everyone looked so amazing!

I had a few people take pictures of my cosplay throughout the entire weekend. My cosplay was Belarus from Hetalia. I was carrying around a large flag the entire time, and was walking with a Belgium cosplayer. If I could locate those photos, I'd be really grateful. ^_^

Ok, so far we have the following things planned for the Gathering:

Origami Folding
Dancing Contest
Trivia Game
Basic Poker
Duck Duck Goose
Go Fish
Tag
Red Rover

***

For the dancing contest and all around music, we will be playing Vocaloid songs mostly. It's basically all that my friend, Tristian has on her Ipod. If anyone else wants to use their Ipod in her speaker system, you are more the welcome to bring it along. When the gathering starts my friends and I will ask what everyone wants to do. We can just sit around and talk, or vote on a game or activity. Don't be afraid to speak up ^^

Um, if you want to donate something you can just tell us when you show up and we will put your items with the rest of the stuff. If you want to have people buy your stuff, then maybe we can have a small period at the ending where you can haggle prices with people? I really don't know.

Also, due to lack of money at the moment, we had to cut a few activities from the list. I'm really sorry T___T The list will be updated in a minute. If anyone can bring stuff for the games, we'd really be grateful.

I was wondering if my Belarus' knife was alright to bring along? It's base is plastic, it's a kid's toy. I painted it and attached a few accessories and used fake blood on the blade. It barely has any weight, and is very fragile, so I won't have it out aside from pictures.

Here's the picture:

When you say "base is plastic" you mean the whole thing's made of plastic, ya? Because that's fine. We'll need to tag it with a peace-bond still.
Sorry, yeah. The entire thing is plastic, even the accessories. It's really fragile so will the peace bond break it? It's already broken once T_T Also, were do I go to get it peace bonded?

The peace bond shouldn't break it; we'll put it on loose. Peace bonding stations will be on the first floor by the Gatherings tables (between the stairs in front of reg), near Stage Zero (when we have the staff) and in Willow Glen III (Marriott, Second Floor, Near the Elevators). If you're really worried about it, I work after 2pm all weekend. I'll help you out with the peacebonding. Just ask for Erin, and if I'm not busy, I'll be there to help you out within a couple minutes.

Thank you very much :D

Ok, so...I need to buy a wig for my Belarus cosplay. I've decided that Ebay just isn't trust worthy. The couple wigs I've seen that would work from there are stolen pictures, so I don't trust them. I think I'm going to order from Cosplay House, but I'd love if anyone has any feedback on their quality of the wigs. Also do they ship quickly?

I'm debating on getting either of these two wigs. Which do you think is better?

Sounds like it really would be something I might like to attend.
I might be able to perform something too if there's like a boom box or something that can accommodate a CD.
But it sounds great =)
Where will it be? (I might have missed seeing it in the initial post..) Oh wait...left side of the fountain.
So this is outdoors? (can't perform if it's outdoors...it might ruin my cosplay)
And I guess this is just an open event anyone can attend.
Sounds fun and I'll do my best to make it~

Ya, it's outside, I'm sorry about that :( It's the only place we have available. Still it'd be wonderful if you joined. This is our first time doing something like this, so we're nervous but we promise to try our very best!

This sounds kind of fun~
I saw this yesterday but didn't have time to post.
So I think I'm just curious as to what this event is a bit more about?
Is it like a gathering for all cosplayers or crossplayers to have fun and meet people and such?
I might attend cause it does sound fun...never attended something like this either.

Well, my cosplay group and I thought this would be a good way to meet and hang out with other fellow cosplayers. Everyone from all fandoms are welcome, even if your not in cosplay attire. We just want everyone to meet, play games, hang out and generally have fun. We will be having contests, games, and prizes.

My friend, NeoVerona is also considering bringing Onigiri (Rice Balls) for people to snack on. We are giving away out stuff to the contest winners and at the end if you didn't win anything, but still want to buy something that we brought, you are more then welcome to pitch us a price. All our stuff will be cheap. Our goal is just to socialize and have fun.

So I just bought this wig: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260709963236&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I'm happy with how it looks, but I'm a little concerned about the bangs. I need them to look like this: http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=&section=&q=belarus+hetalia+cosplay#/d38nrt0 or this: http://browse.deviantart.com/?q=belarus%20hetalia%20cosplay&order=9&offset=144#/d3113a1

I'm really afraid to cut the wig at all, since I've never styled a wig before in my life. I was wondering if anyone could offer me any advice on what to do with the wig.

I was thinking of maybe separating the long bangs in the middle and pushing the ends back behind my ears, pinning/clipping them to the rest of the hair and hiding it somehow. Does that sound like it would work for the first picture?

you have the right idea.
Now the only problem will be if the wig has a skin top, because it makes it very hard to change the part in the bangs but it can be done, just will take a lot more effort.
But yeah, pinning the bangs back behind your ears, you can even sew them in place where the other parts of the wig will cover your stitches, hand sew of course. Just to make sure the bangs don't slip past your ears.

Thank you, so much for the advice. I don't know if the wig has a skin top or not...I haven't asked, but I shall now. -__-"

Is there anyone who wants to start an Air Gear gathering on Saturday? I started a fail!thread for it, so I'm hoping to find more people this time. I'm going as Akito Wanijima for now

Oh damn. If only I had a pink wig. I cosplayed as Simca last year and was dying to find more Air Gear cosplayers. I'd love to join an Air Gear gathering but I don't have her wig anymore, it got ruined  :'(
