I saw this idea used at SacAnime to get up to the second floor!  I thought it was a pretty nice idea since that meant upstairs did thankfully had a whole lot less people and yes I know it is smaller then Fanime but it was something that I liked and I'm glad the staff is going to try it for Fanime this year!

Just thought about this when I was looking through the forums:  To make things easier I think that 18+ attendees should have a different color wristband or something like that to make it easier for the panels younger ones aren't supposed to get into.  Just a suggestion that may make things a bit easier on everyone!

I have been going to Fanime since 2012 and I have loved every year that I have gone.  But I am not one who goes to all the things others do.  This convention falls on or shortly after my birthday and it is my one trip a year where I get to go and not have to many issues.

I will say one thing that did bother me from last year.  Not everyone knew the rule that disabled and those with young children get to go to the front of the line.  Yes I am disabled, I walk with a cane.  That was my only complaint from last year.

The year before was the masses in the hallways not in proper lines for the panels to allow people to exit.  I had an anxiety attack (mine are rather severe) when I felt I was caged in with no where to get out.  My friend apparently told me after I came to from blanking out that I very loudly told people to move it and IMMEDIATELY the staff was fast to act to fix the situation.  For that I am very grateful for because if I had been in that predicament much longer I would have ended up heading to the ER.  I was very lucky to have a friend acting as my care taker that night.

Now I can see people pointing out with such conditions I shouldn't attend Fanime.  Yes I do realize this but this is the one trip where I get to recharge and get to be around others who are into the same stuff I am.  I have never been in a place at the convention where someone was rude or mean when they spoke to me and that is something I like.  While Fanime has its faults (we are human people nothing, NOTHING is going to be perfect.) I love the energy of the convention itself.

Sadly I am to far away to offer assistance with setting up for the convention but I have seen improvements when I have gone.  I mean come on getting your badge doesn't take forever anymore!  That in itself is a HUGE step in the right direction.  So while yes, communication does need to be improved, I still have to thank the staff for working so hard and being quick to fix things when it is really needed.

Another thing I'm thankful for that they changed is where Swap Meet is.  It is in a place where it isn't sweltering to be in there!  Another big improvement that I found was a fantastic change.

Anywho I hope this helped a little bit from my perspective!

Room Needed

Got a room now!  Yay!  Thanks!

Introduction: Hello my name is Marissa and I am 28 years old.  I'll be turning 29 next month a week before Fanime and since 2012 have attended the convention in celebration of my birthday.  I like all kinds of anime (far to many to list yikes!) and I am an avid Manga collector and love going to swap meet to add to my library (642 books thus far!).  I'm friendly and love to help others have a great time.  I can keep to myself if need be but honest I don't bite!

+ Hotel Information: I am good with the Hilton, Marriott or the Hyatt across the street from the convention or really any hotel within walking distance.

+ Requirements: I am handicapped and walk with a cane.  I would prefer a bed but I am flexible and can handle whatever is available.  I will be bringing one large suit case, my bag that holds my cosplay outfit and the staff that goes with it all I ask is for a small safe spot I can put my things!

+ Contact: You can message me here or text me either works well.  My cell number is 916-717-2575 and I have it on me at all times.

+ Miscellaneous: I bring food with me to the convention and I am more then happy to share it with my hotel mates to help save costs when it comes to getting food.  I got drinks covered too!  If you would like something spacific to drink (Root beer, sprite, Dr. Pepper etc) or eat (sandwich meat, bread, pocky etc) don't hesitate to make a request, I'll pick some up for you!  Of course no requests for alcohol please. <3

Thanks I have someone to room with now!  :D

+ Introduction: Hello my name is Misa and I will be turning 26 on May 21st.  Going to Fanime is my birthday gift but sadly the person I was going with decided they didn't want to go with me anymore.  I'm very tidy and friendly and will be cosplaying Princess Serenity during the convention.  I only ask for the chance to get a nap here and there and a chance to take a shower otherwise I will be traveling around the convention.  I am respectful of people's belongings and plan to bring my own food.

+ Hotel Information: Any of the hotels that are right around the convention center, due to physical disabilities I would like to try and use what walking energy I will have on walking around the convention and not just getting there.  I will not be in the hotel room very much, only for showers and an occasional nap here or there.  I will be trying to earn up a bit of money to help but since I have a set income each month and 95% goes to bills I will be doing my best to try to at least gather up some form of cash to assist.
+ Requirements: Just please be careful about my cosplay please.
+ Contact: [email protected] or message me on here please.
+ Miscellaneous: It would be the most awesome birthday gift to not have to worry about what I will be doing for sleeping.  I am an artist and I am willing to draw something nice as a gift!  Thank you very much!
