Big Event Showcase / Re: Masquerade 2020!
« on: January 28, 2021, 02:38:29 PM »
Hello.
Is it relevant this year?
I would like to apply for this time.

I'm so sorry; this was information I posted last year when everything was still optimistic. I will update the information, as no official decision has been made yet as to what is going to happen this year. I will post here when I know more!

Big Event Showcase / Masquerade 2023
« on: March 01, 2020, 04:54:37 PM »
My name is Marisa and I am the Masquerade Head for FanimeCon. You may remember me and my team from FanimeCon 2004 - 2012, or from many of the other conventions where we have run Masquerades over the years. We are so happy to be back at FanimeCon.

We are planning an amazing return in 2023. Please start planning that skit and/or craftsmanship entry in advance for Masquerade 2023!

FanimeCon Masquerade is By Fans, For Fans: Cosplay for everyone!
We welcome both new and experienced cosplayers!

Participate in one (or both!) of our two prize tracts:
- Performance: sing, dance, or do a skit. No craftsmanship required!
- Craftsmanship: show us your elite skills!

We are changing it up this year to accommodate new cosplayers or those who may have a fantastic skit idea, but can't make their own costume, with our performance-only division. Unless you check the box for "judge craftsmanship" we will not ask you if you purchased your costume or had your [Insert Here] make it for you. You will only be judged on your performance and how it relates to the character you are portraying.

We still have a craftsmanship prize tract for our cosplay artisans! You can do both! We have prizes for those who do both performance and craftsmanship!

Rules will be posted soon (tm)!

If you have any questions you can e-mail me at masquerade@fanime.com

We look forward to seeing you in 2023!

So now we're editing other people's posts? How nice indeed

It's OK! He wrote me via PM about it, and I agreed to the change. I was unable to change it myself because I was travelling and only had access to my cell phone.

ewu is a great guy :) no worries.

Hi everyone~

My team and I ran the FanimeCon Masquerade from 2004 - 2012, before taking this year off due to some RL family issues. I told Fanime that our team would be willing to come back, but there are others applying as well, and they are having us interview for the job. I had several people write to me asking me to come back. Feel free to share any similar sentiments via PM so I can send it to Fanime for when we interview.

If you have general questions, just PM me here.

Thank you for your support!
Marisa, Casey, and the Cosplay Team
