I know this isn't helpful (because it's unrelated and I'm also not too familiar with weapons check policy), but I am really excited about your Cooking Mama cosplay and I can't wait to see it!! Hope to see you around this year!

Hi guys;
since there are so few of us (about ten only, if including your friends), it seems this gathering is going to be cancelled. I'm not sure how we'd fit in to the official gatherings schedule and I've decided to move onto other projects. I apologize if this provides any inconvenience to you all; @hanabi-chan, I'm looking forward to seeing your Ritsu around :)

If anyone is considering going to Crunchyroll Expo this year in August, I will most likely be hosting a MP100 Gathering there.

Thank you all for checking this thread out and see you at Fanime!

Messaged Nina (mangosirene) to see what hear what she might say after seeing other people request/wish her as a guest at Fanime this year. She told me she'd be totally up for attending Fanime, and especially in a guest capacity to host panels or help out with (maybe judge) the masquerade. Can we make this happen, Staff?

Hi there. We're happy to see that people like you are eager to contribute to FanimeCon, but please kindly do not reach out to potential guests. We understand that you only asked what her reply might be "if" she were invited, but we do not wish to have people get their hopes up only to be let down should they not be extended an invitation to attend as a guest. While we cannot divulge all the details, there are many factors that play a role when considering guests for FanimeCon, not just number of requests. To make sure there are no misunderstandings or disappointments on either side, we kindly ask that attendees please leave the gauging of interest and inviting to Guest Relations staff. Know that we do read all suggestions posted in these threads, and Evan has mentioned before that he keeps a spreadsheet of all the requests. (He really does!)

Should anyone want to come to FanimeCon to host a panel, we offer partial and full badge refunds to panelists who contribute a certain number of hours to con programming. More information can be found here.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hey there, just wanted to make it clear that I did NOT impersonate nor did I state I was a staff member or in anyway involved with staff. She clearly understood in her reply, saying that she would if she were invited by staff. I simply did what DankLordPopo did (ask if mangosirene might come) or what P4ranoia mentioned about akidearest. Please don't misread my words; I did NOT extend an invitation to her. Please don't think that lowly of me to do something so stupid or disrespectful. And thank you staff, for all the work you do.

UPDATE: 3/11

I have created the Facebook Event Page and have submitted this gathering off to make it official. Please confirm if you can come, how many friends you have coming, and which characters you all plan on cosplaying as. Hope to see you all there!

Alright, thanks for the helpful tip! Both Reigen and Mumen Rider are amazing characters; hope to see you there!

Thanks a bunch for the updates!! SO excited for the photo room! What a great idea! Exactly what Fanime has been missing all this time.

Sounds cool, but I was thinking more of a generic anime concert, rather than tunes specifically from magical girl shows only.

Hey there! Hopefully this isn't out of place, but just wanted put word out there that I am hosting a ONE Gathering (OPM & MB100); if anyone is interested, please comment on the gathering thread! Maybe scheduling the OPM Panel and the ONE Gathering on the same day would make things more convenient for everyone? Just an idea.

Hey guys!! Glad to hear more people are on board with this idea!! I've officially changed this gathering to a ONE gathering, combining OPM with MB100!!

This idea is way too late to put in place for this year's Fanime, but what about for next year? (or future years?)

Wouldn't it be cool to do a concert with a local symphony/orchestra covering anime and video game themes and soundtracks? Something similar to the Georgia Philharmonic Symphony's performance a few years back at AWA (Anime Weekend Atlanta) 2014.

They did a really great job and it's evident everyone had a great time.

Just a suggestion :)

Sounds great!! I would absolutely love to combine this with a OPM gathering, but I'm not entirely sure if there is one being set up by another host; should I just go ahead to combine the two series, changing this thread into a ONE Gathering?

Anyhow, if there isn't any other increased interest within the next 2-3 months, this gathering might just be called off...

Hey there!

Just a little *bump* to see if anyone is still interested in doing this. If not, then I'll call off this gathering.

I'd love to do a shoot!!
Let me know when you are available on Saturday/Sunday; if my friends feels up for doing a shoot, we can shoot our group cosplay. If not, I might just go with a costume I'm currently working on at the moment.

It doesn't need to be her, per say, but a seiyuu like Romi Park would be awesome. She's voiced so many characters, ranging from minor to major roles, and having her a guest would be great because she has voiced multiple series, with recognizable characters like Temari from Naruto, Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist, and Ragyo from Kill la Kill, and so much more.

Just a seiyuu who has a voice that's been in many multiple series, with easily recognizable characters (One need not be a fan of or have ever watched a series to have some familiarity of a specific character.)

And no, I'm not asking for anyone big like Mamoru Miyano (holy frick that man is everywhere), but just someone fans of different genres/series are familiar with. Matsukaze and Sakaguchi appeared with a heavy emphasis on Mobile Suit Gundam (which is understandable considering the GunPla Builders World Cup 2016 event), but that somewhat cast a shadow on their other roles/other series.

Voice Actors:

I honestly don't care; we just need some Japanese seiyuus, Fanime. This is one guest department Fanime lacks in.

Masaya Matsukaze and Daisuke Sakaguchi were the Guest of Honors for this year's Fanime and the year before was Ai Nonaka. I don't mind seeing them again for next year. So not sure why Fanime would be lacking in this department? They have done well and did their best to bring in more seiyuus. Here's the list for a good memory jog of their past guests they've done well in getting. On their Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FanimeCon.

Yes, I know they were past guests, you don't need to insert link, that was unnecessary. I've actually read that list before; that's how I thought up guests. My point was comparing the ratio of Japanese Seiyuus to English voice actors Fanime has with other conventions; I understand it's hard to get guests from another country to attend your convention, but Fanime's guests are just lacking overall for its attendee size. Some larger-known creators (like mangakas as I said) would be nice though. In short, one or two Seiyuus to 10 English VAs is somewhat disappointing for 30,000 attendees. (Yes, the numbers are somewhat of a slight over exaggeration.)
