I'm freaking out that a Beard Papas is opening on 4th and San Carlos!
What?  When??  I'm looking at the Beard Papa's website and I don't see anything about that particular one...

EDIT:  never mind, found it.  Ooo, how exciting!

Aaaa, the creampuff place? A friend of mine is coming to Fanime from British Columbia, and she is a total creampuff freak. I hope it's open in time for her!
It says it opened April 4th!!

Decided to cosplay after all, so now I have to find all the pieces and see what I need to fix/add/buy.

Ideas and Suggestions / Re: Female T-Shirt Options!

Depending on the size, if it's a big image, probably logo on the upper left corner (from the vantage point of me wearing it, so if you're looking at the shirt straight on, it'd be upper right corner) with the image on the back.  However, if it's a small image, then front and upper center is fine.  For example, the Fanime 2004 pirate shirt would probably have been better on the back (but I bought one anyway, 'cause it was a girl cut shirt).  But there was another girl shirt one year... I have it in red with black sleeves and ringer collar, that was just a narrow horizontal box with a girl winking across the front.  That is fine for a front design.

If shirts are light colored, I prefer front images though, 'cause sometimes they are too see through and need an image on the front.  Does this make sense?

Also, if the artwork is on the back, I would need SOMETHING on the front, otherwise it looks off balance.  So no logo on the sleeve, but on the chest please.

One month and three days!!!!!!  How exciting!

I have no con crunch, since I have no new cosplay outfits this year, and may not even cosplay.  Dunno, we'll see how I feel closer to con time.  It's a pain since I cut my hair, because all my cosplays are for long hair, and I've found that wig caps tend to give me migraines.

Got my tax refund already; now I just have to make sure not to spend it all on stupid things.

Hotel taken care of, friends have booked their flights, I'm driving, we're all set to go!

Now it's just the waaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttttttttttttttttt...................  *impatiently giddy*

Staff and security won't let you sleep ANYWHERE (including the video rooms), so if you intend on doing this...pretty much don't.  If you don't have a choice, make a quick buddy who has one while you're there who might be generous, or find yourself an alley or corner somewhere outside the hotel or you can bet you won't find more than a wink of sleep.
What kind of terrible suggestion is that?  That's just asking to get mugged, attacked, robbed, etc.  If you don't have a place to sleep... go home, or don't come at all (or don't sleep, but that's not really a good idea--1) you'll probably be more than a little crazy at the end, and 2) you won't have bathed either, so nobody will want to be near you).

For the love of god, do not go sleep outside on the streets.

OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :D

Any word on colors?
As of now, Navy Blue and Baby Blue.
SWEET!  Love both colors, now I can choose which one I like better once I see the design.  Thank you!!!

Yay, finally I can buy another Fanime shirt and have it fit!

Personally I like having extra space at cons. It's a lot less claustrophobic and gives people comfortable room to move around and breathe.
This is very important, as some people will never understand the necessity of a bath, shower, and deodorant.

Since he pre-regged, is there any way he could pick it up on Thursday?
No, he's flying up from Southern California.

I guess we'll just have to shove him out of bed early then... fabulous.  It also sucks that we won't be able to do anything con related on Friday night since registration closes at 8.

Registration / Friend arriving late, badge question
March 24, 2008, 12:56:05 PM
One of our group is arriving late on Friday due to work issues, and probably will not be able to make the 8 pm cut off time (he preregged).  Is there ANY possible way we could get his badge at the same time we get ours (like, have him submit a note with a state ID Xerox or something, or send you guys an email with pertinent information), because we REALLY don't want to have to wait in line twice, especially after Anime Boston reported 10 hour badge lines.

What about a good Maroon type color.  I gotta say I love deep red...not blood red.  Purple is good too.
Oh, yes, forgot about Eggplant.  That's a good dark color, too.  And I don't have many shirts that color, but I do like it a lot.  It would make my Fanime shirt stand out in my t-shirt drawer!

I like dark red, charcoal, dark brown, black, navy blue.  No greens or yellows unless I want to look positively ill.  Forest green is a maybe, but anything lighter is hideous.  It also depends on how the print looks with the base color; although red is my favorite, I'm not sure how this year's mascots will look on red.  They look better with navy blue, I think, or lighter colors.

I hate pink, but like lavender and powder blue for lighter colors.  As long as I have one color to buy, I'll be happy though!

Thanks for asking our input MPle!

I want it here now because then I'd be with my friends who are all over the place.  :(

Although I am broke, so probably May would be better.   :P

Elevator Ninjas defiantly don't need to happen... EVER!

What do the elevator ninjas do? Wait around in elevator and annoy anyone that go in it? imagine a buisness man waitiong for the elevator door to open and as soon as it does the ninjas pop out and start poking him.
I believe elevator ninjas are the annoying people who mash into the elevators and then push every single floor making it impossible for anyone of normal mentality to use the elevator.  Why people find this amusing or want to risk pissing off hotel people so much that Fanime is banned from using the hotels in the future is beyond me.

My best friends all live in CA, and I live in WI now. Fanime is our yearly get together!
OMG, one of MY best friends lives in WI and she's coming out to CA to see ME (and a couple other friends, too) at Fanime!  Isn't that a crazy coincidence?

Hehe.  :D

Just put/wave your hands in a no reply, I've tryed and it works, or slide to the right or left

Why should we have to do that?  It'd be better if everyone assumed that no glomping is the rule unless given express permission.

Yes but doesn't that take the surprize factor out of the picture
Yes, 'cause it's better to surprise someone, causing them to fall over and hurt themselves, than to ask them, just so you can get your jollies.

Or ruin their costume.  Or cause them to drop something.  Or, for the love of god, infringe on their personal space because they don't want to be touched!  Why can't glompers understand that?  Some of us just don't want to be grabbed/mauled/touched by strangers!  JUST ASK.

Oh please it's all in good fun
No.  It's not.  Not when people have specifically said they don't want to be glomped.  You are ruining THEIR fun at an event THEY paid for.

Look it's easy. JUST ASK FIRST. No need for signs, stickers, corners. JUST ASK FIRST.

If the person says no, say "Well I like your costume" and have a nice chat with them. If they say yes, then glomp and still try to have a nice conversation with them. Isn't that part of what going to a con is all about? Interacting, talking with people?  :-\
Hear, hear.  100% agree.  Wow, you is smarts. ;)
