There's a person who wants to share my swap meet space with me and sell his items from his
own collection, but he is an employee of one of the vendors. He wants to know if it is all right
for him to sell?

And if I can't share with him, I am still looking for someone to share my spot with me for both
days.

Everything worked properly for me and I have paid for a spot for both days!

If you're interested in sharing the spot to split costs, please email me at: seerakosumosu[at]gmail[dot]com
with the title "Fanime 2015 Swap Meet"

Hi, i was able to send payment through and i am at the "occasional" seller permit. So alli have to do is bring a copy of that? And is my spot all set so i wont lose it? Thanks!

You need to bring that and the swap meet seller application form.

I really don't like the random assigning. Last year, my friend and I were one of the first few in
line. She got the absolute best spot, very front, middle, end row, while I got nearly the opposite
at the very back.

I'd like to request that we be allowed to pick spots once we enter according to our order in
line. I want to be next to my friend so that we can guard each other's spots when we go on
bathrooms breaks or take a few minutes to browse and shop ourselves.

Yes, an update would be great.

I am flying in and will be bringing less than two suitcases' worth of items to sell.
Am looking for someone to share a space with on both nights. I did the same thing
last year and it worked out well for all parties, plus the spaces are bigger this year.

. . . looking for an experienced room head?
A female in my twenties, I've been attending AX since 2003 and this is my 8th year running
hotel rooms in DTLA for a group of 30+ people. I have also attended San Diego Comic Con
for the past 8 years and this will be my 9th year attending! This is my second Fanime.

. . . looking for a no-headaches room?
I do charge a small overhead in case of cancellations, damages, or theft. You will not pay any
more than stated here and you only need to worry about your spot (but be prepared to pay for
any damages you make). I take care of everything else, such as any hotel or roommate issues.

Rules:

  • No damages, theft, or additional charges to the room without permission
  • Shower daily
  • NO smoking but minimal drinking is fine - no parties allowed
  • Avoid inviting guests back to the rooms
  • Don't stay out past 3 am as we all need sleep.
  • Please practice basic common courtesy.
** I've never had this happen but if you do cause problems, you will be kicked out of the room
without a refund and you will be liable for any and all damages.

Payment: must be received ASAP. Your spot isn't reserved until paid in full
Accepted forms of payment at this time are online transfers using BofA, Chase, US Bank,
or banks that use Pop Money.
You may also deposit cash directly into my bank account at your local BofA branch.
NO PAYPAL!

Yes, most of them were fakes, but I did see legitimate Arpakasso plushies at two other booths besides the one you mentioned.

I got a swap meet space for both days and am willing to share with someone. Since I
am flying up I can only bring two suitcases of items and will most likely only need to
use about half the allotted space. In case you have a lot of merchandise I'm skilled at
artfully arranging things and making maximally efficient use of space.  ;)

My only caveat is that I'm trying to minimize the expenses of the con as it's costing me
a lot to fly up there, so I'm looking for someone who wants to share my space but is
willing to pay for the entire spot for both days, just like people who missed out on artist
alley are willing to do. My reason for attending the con is to sell at the swap meet and I'm
not even sure if I will do well as this is both my first time attending Fanime and my first
time paying so much for a swap meet spot at an anime con. So I thought this would be a
good idea that could benefit both parties.

Please send me an email at seerakosumosu[at]gmail[dot]com titled "Fanime 2014 Swap Meet"

Hotel and Facilities / Re: Hotel Deposit Policy

Usually hotels put an authorization on your credit card but don't actually charge that amount.

Other cons have taught me that you need to check every avenue that the con uses to release information, such as the site, forums, and social media accounts. The constantly checking bird gets the worm.

Obviously we're all stuck on step 5. Also, you should have received an email about Thursday and/or Friday status as "In Process" so I don't think we have to worry, just wait for them to approve us.

I think you can have Fanime count as one event instead of counting various events that occur during Fanime as different events.

What CMR doesn't mention is that there is a small window of time after they transfer the info to the hotels when you can cancel directly with the hotel with no fee. I did it two years ago, when I had to drop a room a week before con.

When is this window of time and for how long? Maybe 24 hours within the info being transferred?

If anyone gets their wait list approved and ends up with a spare room at the Fairmont or Saint Claire, please let me know! Of course I would also take either the Hilton or the Marriott.
