This event seems very unnecessary.

In my town we have a festivle every 2 or so months. It is sad and full of fail. Not like the Garlic Festival in Gilroy just south of us. Even if Gilroy is a wasteland, at least they can be proud of there Garlic...

We're also proud of the facts that we earn a big chunk of money, despite hosting a festival during the hottest part of the year.  Other than that, we rarely smell garlic in the air.

There's also a artichoke festival in Castroville; I love fried artichoke hearts :)

I hope the series turns out ok... I hope it's more persistant(not to be confused with consistant) than Red vs blue. It's gunna be the closest thing we're ever gunna get to to a Halo movie.

Bit off-topic:: I dont know if ODST will be to my palate... I have hopes but I havent seen much media hype and I've only seen one trailer. I'ma rent it before I buy it. Anyone here gunna do the same?

Videogames... lots and lots of succesful videogames.    .Hack sold alot of games but would have been successful if the story had been more appealing to a larger circle.

I've obviously read alot of hidden treasures aside from mainstream, but I FINALLY read FMA, I cant find anything after 97 online though.. :(

Isn'nt roleplay considered gaming(not video, but still)? It's like playing house... but not at all. It's not considered literature... in either case, I might hook up.

Stayed at the Hilton, third floor.  And holy hell, third floor was a huge mistake.  Granted, it was a shitton easier for getting out the last day, but that didn't really make up for other problems.

Hotel itself: fine.  Comfy beds were comfy, minifridge was win, room ... well, I wasn't there a whole lot, but it was okay.  The lighting was a bit fail and annoying (either too bright or too dark), the comfy chair was not that comfy, and the lack of mirrors aside from in the bathroom and on the (terribly poorly illuminated) closet doors made for hell getting dressed.  If it had been more people besides my sister and I, that probably would've been far more annoying than it was, but ... either way, it still vexed.

Elevators, as usual, were fail.  I don't think this revelation surprises anyone, though they were better than the Marriot's.
(We didn't really do stairs during con proper.  My sister is pretty seriously gimpy and I cosplay all of con, usually with corset and some degree of uncomfortable shoe involved, so I'm reluctant to chance the stairs.  I did it at the Marriot once, up four floors, and the breathing hell involved was not fun.)

Parking: I can deal.  Compared to LA parking rates, $18/night isn't that bad, and Hilton still comes out below Marriot even with the lack of parking discounts.  We got a spot a sneeze away from the elevators, too, which was lovely.  Those spots are SMALL, though; I have never been so glad for my Toyota compact before.

Biggest complaint: noise.  I had hoped that the Hilton's remodel would include some degree of noise dampening, but this appears to have not been the case.  Between the kids next door (who I asked repeatedly to keep things down; yes, I'm that bitch), the base beat coming from ... well, maybe the second floor? ... and things like people not modulating voices walking down the hall or slamming doors at ungodly hours of the morning, sleeping proved to be quite a trial.  I know it's too much to hope for common sense and decency, but really, people.  How many times do I have to ask before you'll keep it down?

Next year: Marriot, I think, and not the third floor.  I'll deal with the elevator fail.

I stood on the 7th floor, it was awesome except when someone pulled the fire alarm at 3-ish am Sunday.  After me and the roomies came back from teh dance, we crashed only to be woken up by it.  Everyone from the (forth?) floor up to the topmost floor had to be evacuated via fire escape stairs.
-Sure I had to wait for elevators throughout the con but it wasnt that bad.  The last day was unbelievable though. Last day elevators didnt stop for me at all. Waited 15 min.

Swap meet::: I wanted to buy this light-up platform thing that one uses to trace drawings on. I want to bring some of my stuff for next time!! I got a great deal on an Invader Zim dvd as well.

I couldn't find the limited edition Hellsing OVA 4 there :(.  I wish the GITS figurines was cheaper...   more gaia stuff would be nice.
