Your chances of getting a spot in the contest- though not guaranteed- are very good to excellent. Historically we've taken at least 6 from the waiting list every year.
If you are on this waiting list, you do not need to sign up again at con, but you will need to be present in the karaoke room at 5:30PM when we award the spots from the waiting list. If we call your name and you don't answer, we will move on down the waiting list. Once we add you to the contest, we will then collect your music.

There used to be more groups, but over the last few years group signups have really decreased.
Most of the groups now compete in Acoustikaraoke...which we'll announce soon in another topic!

I'm pretty sure I've signed up for it since I've waited for 10pm a few days ago when signups first opened...kinda why I asked in an earlier post concerning switching out songs after signing up (confident I made the cut).
But it's all moot now I guess. Yeah, there is open mic and next year. But for the meantime, that's just really disappointing.

now that i think about it, i think i remember u too
the first time i sang was fanime09 and just by luck i got into the final round
i was 11th on the list and whoever was 10th didnt show up, so by luck i got in
i freaked out tho and got 10th but thats okay :D
u were awesome :) hope u and ur friend can sing again this year too
this is my first time at fanime :3 i've done ax idol before tho and it was a blast :D

Its Shiro again (listed as T.Gifford here). I am now pleased to announce I have my final lineup of songs for the contest AND Open Mic set. I won't give away specifics, but I will do my best to put on one hell of a show for you all. Planning to dedicate my first round song to my girlfriend, who sadly cannot make it to the con this year (turns out the day of the contest is also her birthday).

The room will not be open until 2pm at the earliest.
If you get there before the room opens, please form an orderly line outside. When we open up the room, we will handle signups and checkins in the same order as how you were lined up outside.
