« on: November 04, 2014, 03:24:44 PM »
Hi everyone,

If you are experiencing issues with the group minimum (reaching the error message even when having 3+ group members) or have registered 2 people and do not have a 3rd to make a group registration, please contact fanireg@cmrus.com. They will be able to look into the issue and troubleshoot accordingly.

Thanks!

Hi all!

Just thought I'd make a friendly announcement on this forum where it would be visible.

If you pick up your badge at Clockwork Alchemy, you will get a Clockwork Alchemy badge design. If you pick up your badge at FanimeCon, you will get a FanimeCon badge design.

Thank you!

UPDATE:
Based on recent projections, it is entirely possible that CA may not have enough badge stock for CA attendees if Clockwork Alchemy is flooded with FanimeCon members coming to pick up their badges at Clockwork Alchemy. Our system architect summed it up well here:

Quote
Based on my models, I expect that the time to shuttle to and from Clockwork plus their wait time will be more than the max line wait after we open. We have scaled the two registration systems based on the sizes of the conventions, and there is a real risk we'll overrun Clockwork. This will have the nasty side effect that we'll run out of Clockwork badges (they'll have to switch to Fanime artwork), and that will make our steam punk friends sad.

Reality can and will differ from my models, but if it were me I'd reg at the con I intend to attend.

We have ordered a good amount of standard member badges for CA members only but it is theoretically possible for Clockwork Alchemy to run out of Clockwork Alchemy badges on Thursday and will therefore have to use FanimeCon badges for the rest of the weekend. It may actually not be a shorter wait time to pick up your badge at CA as they have limited resources such as staff and check-in booths.

Essentially: we can process upwards of 10x faster than Clockwork Alchemy given that FanimeCon is equipped to handle large numbers of people whereas Clockwork Alchemy is not. Go to FanimeCon to pick up your badge if you are attending FanimeCon.

Q: So I prepaid online, but does that mean that I HAVE to pick up my badge on Thursday?
A: No, Thursday is an additional option for prepaid members who wish to pick up their badge on that day. You can pick up your badge from Thursday-Monday during our open Registration hours.

Q: Can I purchase one-day registrations online?
A: Yes, but only on the day-of, during the specified hours below. You must also pick up your badge on the day-of.
Friday: only May 23rd, 12:01 am - 6 pm
Saturday: May 23rd, 8:30 pm - May 24th, 6 pm
Sunday: May 24th, 8:30 pm - May 25th, 6 pm
Monday: May 25th, 8:30 pm - May 26th, 11 am

Q: I cannot make it to FanimeCon 2014 anymore. Can I get a refund or give my membership to a friend?
A: Memberships are non-transferrable, and non-refundable as stated before checkout.

Group Registration
Q: What is Group Registration?
A: It is online registration for groups of 2 or more people. This is so that someone can pay collectively. There is no group discount.

Q: Do we get discounts?
A: There are no discounts for group registration.

Q: Who can pick up the collective group’s badges? What does the leader need to pick up the badges?
A: Only the group leader can pick up the badges. No one else may pick up the group’s badges — this is to prevent theft. The leader must have either a valid student ID or a valid government-issued photo ID during pick-up, otherwise no one can pick up their badges. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE BADGES TO THE GROUP MEMBERS. Any lost badges will result in a re-print fee.

Q: Is there a group size for Group Registration?
A: No. However, if you have single memberships and would like to create a group or be added into someone else's group, we will not be able to accommodate your request as we cannot make any such changes to our system.

Q: If I buy a one-day membership but I want to come back for more days, what should I do?
A: During the convention, please come to the Special Registration line and let the staff know that you wish to upgrade your badge.

Q: Are kids 10 and under free?
A: Yes, kids 10 and under are free. However, you will need to register them at-con to get their child badge. Please do not register them online. When you are picking up your badge at-con, let the registration staff assisting you know that you will need to to register a child ten years old or under. The child must be present at the time of badge pick-up. The child must be accompanied AT ALL TIMES with a guardian who has a paid membership.

Payment
Q: What forms of payment do you accept for online registration?
A: We take all major credit cards.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept for at-con registration?
A: We will accept cash, checks, and all major credit/debit cards.

Q: So I made an online registration account before the price deadline, and now it’s after the deadline. Does this mean that when I pay, I will be paying what the membership price was when my account was made, or will I be paying the current price?
A: You will pay the current membership price, not the price of when your account was made.

Q: I registered online but I can’t make it to FanimeCon, even though I already paid. Do you give refunds?
A: As stated before payment checkout, we do not issue refunds.

Q: I registered online but I can’t make it to FanimeCon, even though I already paid. Can I transfer my membership to someone else?
A: As stated during checkout, memberships are non-transferable.

Pick-Up for Paid Online Registration Badges
Q: What time/days is Registration open at FanimeCon?
A: We will be open from Thursday to Monday of FanimeCon. Thursday will be pick-up exclusively for Paid Online Registration attendees only.

Q: What do I need to pick up my badge if I purchased my membership online?
A: Please bring a valid government-issued photo ID such as: a student ID, passport, driver’s license, or state issued photo ID card, along with your electronic postcard that will be attached to your registration account and emailed to you in early May, before FanimeCon.
*Note: Driver’s/Learner’s Permit, and Birth Certificates are not valid forms of ID.

Q: What is the electronic postcard?
A: It is a document that you print out with your information about your registration on it. It will be available to you closer to FanimeCon — we will email you and make an announcement. This will contain important information necessary to pick up your badge.

Q: I am under 18 and do not have a driver’s license or passport. What do I do?
A: All FanimeCon members must have student ID or a valid government-issued ID. If an attendee is under 18 and does not have a government-issued photo ID or student ID, they can still pick up their badge if their parent or legal guardian accompanies them and the parent or legal guardian has a valid government-issued photo ID consistent with information on the attendee’s registration. The parent or legal guardian is not required to purchase a badge and does not need to accompany the attendee at all times, but they will still be responsible for the attendee’s actions.

Q: I am a parent or legal guardian that accompanied my child to pick up their badge; can I still accompany my child without purchasing a membership?
A: You are free to accompany your child throughout the convention concourse and video rooms, but you will not be able to enter special events or areas such as MusicFest, Black & White Ball, or the arcade/e-gaming area without a membership.

Q: Are badges mailed to my address or do I have to pick them up?
A: We do not mail badges, so you will need to pick them up during the listed hours.

Q: I can’t make it to the hours of Registration — can I have a friend pick up my badge for me?
A: We do not allow other people to pick up other people’s badges for them unless it is group registration and the leader picks up the badges.

Q: Where can we pick up our badges?
A: You can pick up your badges at the FanimeCon or Clockwork Alchemy convention.

Miscellaneous
Q: Can I come on Thursday to purchase memberships?
A: No, Thursday is only for pre-paid members who have already paid online and wish to pick their badge up at that time.

Q: What are the wait times like?
A: Expect long lines all day Thursday — bring snacks and drinks if you plan on coming Thursday.
Friday may have very long lines as well.
Saturday from morning to late afternoon will be busy. The evening time tends to be fairly quiet.
Sunday morning until the afternoon will be busy but tends to get quiet after noon.
Monday is usually very quiet.

Q: I registered online, but my information has changed/is different than what is on my identification/I want to change my information. What do I do?
A: Please email us to change your information.

Q: Why does my information need to match my ID?

A: This is so we can verify that the person on the badge is actually you. Otherwise, without confirmation, we cannot give you your badge.

Q: What is the “Fan Name”?
A: It’s a secondary name that can be a nickname. It is optional, but please note that it must be family appropriate. Your legal first and last name will still be displayed on the badge in addition to the “name on badge”, but will be displayed smaller than your fan name.

Q: What happens if I have an obscene Fan Name?
A: We will replace your Fan Name with your legal name. Yes, this means your legal name will be shown twice.

Q: I have a 2 year old child. Do I still have to pay for a full weekend membership?
A: Yes, kids 10 and under are free. However, you will need to register them at-con to get their child badge. Please do not register them online. When you are picking up your badge at-con, let the registration staff assisting you know that you will need to to register a child ten years old or under. The child must be present at the time of badge pick-up. The child must be accompanied AT ALL TIMES with a guardian who has a paid membership.

Q: I am buying the membership for someone else; whose name do I put on it? Mine, or the person I am buying it for?
A: Because this is a membership, please put the person’s name that is attending FanimeCon. Please do NOT put the name of the credit/debit card holder. FanimeCon memberships are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Q: Do I HAVE to put my real name?
A: Because we check for a valid government-issued photo ID when you pick up your membership, the legal names MUST match or we will not release the membership badge to you. In the past, we have accommodated individuals who are in the transgender community. If you feel listing your real name will cause you undue hardship, please email registration@fanime.com.

Q: I have a question I want to ask you at-con at Registration!
A: Great, please come see us at the Special Registration Line.

(Information can and will be frequently updated – times especially can and may be changed)

Buy/Sell/Trade / WTS: Box of stuff
« on: September 15, 2012, 10:06:37 PM »
I'm basically cleaning out my room after moving back and I have a box of stuff I want to sell... yes, just a box. I don't want to go through the hassle of individually selling stuff- I want it gone all in one go! Here are a few things that are in it:

Manga:
-Dragon Knights 7-14
-dotHack//
-Real Bout High School 1-2
-Jing: King of Bandits
-Dragon Hunter
-Shaolin Sisters
-Wish
-Boys Over Flowers
(Most of the ones without numbers are probably volume 1)

Posters:
-Various GaiaOnline posters (including one signed by Vo, Lanzer, and a few other moderators/artists.)
-One special GaiaOnline poster: signed by Vo and Lanzer for various consecutive years
-Bleach Wall Scroll of all captains
-FFX Rikku wall scroll
-Fushigi Yuugi wall scroll

-Random dolls and pillow pet
-Random GaiaOnline t-shirts (most likely size small) (also, one of these are signed)
-Random convention t-shirts (also most likely small)
-Sims 2 & Open For Business expansion pack
-GaiaOnline OMG hat

-Pink lolita skirt ( http://forums.fanime.com/index.php?topic=15066.0 )
-Gothic lolita-esque long sleeve shirt and skirt (black and white, no pictures unless upon request)

I'm asking for $90 which includes shipping. $80 if you live in/near San Jose and I can drop it off/you pick it up.
-You can resell this stuff, regift, whatever. Most of this stuff is brand spanking new/never worn before with tags.

Buy/Sell/Trade / [WTS] Meta Swan Skirt (pink/gold) (Lolita~)
« on: November 11, 2010, 05:40:01 PM »
DS: Meta Swan Skirt, pink and gold. (:
(These first few pictures are by nonody cos they're better pics than mine, but all the other pictures are mine)

[back]
[swans]
[inside]

I'm selling my Metamorphose Temps De Fille Swan Skirt. It is pink with gold swans and a sewn in petticoat already.
[swans]

Length: 17 inches, 20 including the lace.
Waist: 24-26 inches, though 26 might be a little too tight.
[close up of elastic]

There are two sash attachments, the sashes are about 37-38 inches in length (they're cut angled so...)
[sash]
[detachable sashes]

There's a little blemish on the skirt, but it's barely noticable. It's less than a 10th of an inch.
[blemish]

The person that had this skirt before me, I think, blew off the hook, so there's a few little knaps there as well, but since it is inside, you can't see it at all.
[x1]
[x2]

I have only worn this to try it on, but I don't want it anymore because I made something that tailors what I needed it for...
I paid about $100, but I'm asking for $85. I don't want to trade, sorry. o:

~ Item will be sent as soon as I get your payment.
~ Everything comes from a smoke-free and pet-free place.

If you want this for $85, please let me know and I'll try to estimate shipping costs, since I'm in Socal and not Norcal unless you want to wait for it when I get up there for break and stuff.

For me, it was when Costco replaced my glasses nosepads for free. :D
... and just now, my boyfriend's mother gave me big hugs for no reason. Twice. Lawls. ;D

HOLY AWESOMENESS.

They are so cool... I spent like, the last 10 minutes making two of them and downloading the app onto my crackberry.

I wish I had more of a reason to use them, but I don't, really. >.> Does anyone else use them?

Want to buy Confidential Confessions Deai 1 for $5. (:

I have currently 6 books for the SAT/ACT, with the exception of one which has been lightly written in, all of them are untouched. They're from last year, but whatevs, they're still good. Pictures will be up when I get a memory stick for my camera. =.=

Did anyone else suffer through 20 minutes of watching Bush's plane fly off into the afternoon sky and about 30 minutes of people cheering for Obama while he was walking to the observation place?

I officially am sick of abc 7 news channel. =.= They keep repeating the same things over again 3 times within 5 minutes. And then leave the camera on with no fresh dialogue for half an hour at times. o:

So, thoughts about the speech, oath, parade? Did you not watch it? Did you cry? Did you jump up with joy? Frustration? o:

At Slims-SF in April, the 14th. o:

So the production I'm stage managing, Romeo and Juliet is going to open on the 20th, and go until the 23rd.
20th-22nd is at 7:30 and 23rd is at 2pm at Saratoga High School. :00

I actually... have no idea how much tickets are... probably like, $10~$15... but it's not a Little Theater, it's in an actual theatre. :0 With like... lights, a rigging pit, and like... 5 hundred something seats.

It's... a really interesting play... with... interesting... *coughghettocough* costuming... and it's... "timeless" *coughcoughcough* but if you have nothing better to do, and want to laugh at idiocy then come and watch. The acting is pretty good, but I swear, the director is on crack, shrooms, and marijuana at the same time.

What are some weird things you can do with your body? (pg-13, plz.)

I have a friend who can bend his middle finger parallel and touching the back of his hand.

I can do the clover thing with my tongue, and... I'll think of more later. >.-

Because I'm awesome, I'm organizing a concert in my area on the 26th of this month! It's going to be really small because I'm organizing and this is the first Paper Star Productions thing I'd be doing.

It's mostly acoustic music, there's one or two electronic perfomers, and yeah. 7:00pm. Admissions is $8. (:

Come and drop by and say hi to meeeee. And enjoy the music. And say HI. (: Because I'm awesome and you want to meet me. :D

myspace.com/paperstarproductions [address and info/bands there]

There's also a facebook group and event for this, just search Paper Star Productions.

Things in the Universe / Local bands for... hypotheical hire?
« on: April 28, 2008, 09:37:11 PM »
:0 Oh em gee! A wanted-ish thread!
Does anyone know any rock-ish bands that are pretty okay live in the Bay Area near San Jose/Saratoga area that take bookings? I'm thinking of planning a benefit concert in my area and I am looking for a larger scope of local-ish bands. They gotta be clean, it's going to be an all-age sort of thing, mostly targeted towards high-schoolers. (:
