Picked up our badges from "Walk-con" and off to Target for supplies.

Too much reminiscing... it hurts...  :'(

I don't really want to watch two guys play Portal night after night....

Don't think anyone does; there's always the game room for that.

Stage Zero needs more randomness instead of "Let's Play" for hours on end.

What's past is done, and now we can embrace the new registration system and hopefully put all of that behind us. :D

Just please shuffle the preprinted badges next year. My entire group of 20 got the same Elliot badge.
I don't mind waiting the extra 2 minutes now that registration is a snap. Thanks lol.  ;)

Instead of a specific item, I just wish there were more distributors since a majority of these dealers all sell the same items.

Grande Pizzeria.

Great service and pretty good Italian food.

Yes. Please note that CA reg is a much smaller setup. They will have something like 4 staffers and 2 printers with maybe 4-6 stations or so (don't have the exact numbers on me at the moment). If a lot of people go there, it may take just as long if not longer to pick up your badges there.

2 printers?! My gosh.
I'll have to risk it then since I like to gamble; plus, I want the CA design.

The 10% discount was active last year.

They will be fancy badges with fancy printers printing directly onto the fancy badges.

;D

Hopefully the fancy printers are fast printers.
Fauncy!!

AX IS the biggest con so it's only expected.
If I recall, they personally send their GR staff on trips to Japan in order to get personal contacts.
Even after Chase left and took his big book with him, they still got Mikunopolis.

I wonder if Guest Relations and Musicfest Staff have different blackbooks?
Musicfest guests have almost always been amazing and in the past few years we've even had several 2-acts concerts.

And all this talk about "revelance" is just weird.
If you're a fan, you're a fan. Doesn't matter if they've had any work come out recently.

All in all, I always go because it's just one more day of vacation for me.

Even if Fanime didn't open up pre-registration pick-up on Day Zero, this would be my reason to go.
Why wait one more day for Fanime at home when I can just go and hang and wait with everyone.

I'm 104% sure it was a joke.

Predicting I'm going to be spending around $220.

Fanime marks the start of summer vacation and "convention season" for me so I can't be spending everything at Fanime.

Ironic that I now have an income but spending less than when I was a student living on allowance.

Bummer. So that means if we want a short line we're stuck with a CA design.

HOPEFULLY it's shorter.

I'm completely fine with this because even if you want a cool Fanime badge, you may end up with one of the characters you don't like anyway.
It's all luck of the draw and adding Clockwork Alchemy designs to the deck is pretty cool.
Never attended Clockwork Alchemy but having a steampunk badge is not going to irk me.

Stoked to see Fanime taking place at the new convention center, dudes.

As soon as my cosplays are finished, I'll be so hyped!! Woot woot!!
Nice.

Only one more month?
Fanime is creeping up way too fast; only three more weekends?

... must get cosplay done... must get everything ready...

Thanks!  I might make a trip over there or Hydration, then, since milk tea is awesome, and their fairly close to the CC =).  Do you happen to know when specifically Quicklys happy hour is?  Unfortunately their website doesn't say, and nether do the Yelp comments.

Happy Hour is after 5PM.
As for personal taste: I highly prefer Quickly's milk tea over Hydration's.

I've heard there's a place called Quicklys a few blocks down from the center that does inexpensive bento and boba teas.  Does anyone have experience going there?  How was it?  I looked it up on Yelp, and the reviews looked mixed at best, but I want to double check before writing it off.

Quicklys across from SJSU is an asian fast food place.
If you want something well-prepared and healthy, I'd say go somewhere else.
If you want a quick but filling snack then this'll do.
I just go for the drinks.

They have happy hour in the evenings with buy one get one free milk teas so it gets pretty crowded later in the day.
As for service, it's what you would expect from any FroYo/TapEx-like extablishment.

Salarymen everywhere!

Taking Japanese culture at this con to a whole 'nother level.
