I'm curious about Left4Dead. You realize you can't play Vs. Mode on a local network right? So unless you're getting like 4 360's onto live and friending 4 names to join a game, how're you going to do this?
I don't see the purpose in having both a RB2 and a GH:World Tour tournament.
There's 18 games listed, and let's be unrealistics and say they last 2 hours each. that's still 36 hours of man time that's needed.
You sure you want that many tournaments?

I think we agreed a rockband tourney is very unpractical. GH tourney should be expected, not rockband.
I don't think I'd hold a gg tourney if blazeblue indeed comes out before fanime. 1 or the other.

I haven't mentioned my opinion on holding a tournament yet since like 99% of the world and 80% of the american tekken community have yet to touch tekken6, let alone BR. i don't think most people realize tekken 6 is out, so the random people at fanime may want a DR tourney as all they know is DRO.

I don't know about that, but its a small substitute if BlazBlue isn't available....or you could just do the GG tourney, I don't really care.

for the l4d on the 360.. we are running that on a offline network and using 4 360's of left 4 dead. since we can't be online
Uh, no, I think a BlazBlue cabinet could be "borrowed" from some place or another. I know that SJSU has one and I know SVGL has one; hopefully by con date there will be something in the works (I don't know how that will work out, but not having anything BlazBlue on the floor would be a mistake, in my opinion).
To be frank I don't really care for the GG series with BlazBlue out, and I know that many GG players have moved towards this game as well.

I'm going to make the assumption that OCE is operating the arcade again this year. In that case, there's a high chance we'll see the BB cab from SJSU @Fanime. Even if that's the case though, don't expect a tourney. If I remember correctly, OCE doesn't want their cabs used for tourneys. That would cut into their overall profit for the weekend.

I say double elim when it probably won't cause a time conflict.
If you're gonna do 2v2s waseda, then make sure you explain the whole switching off. Cause I've played in tourneys where it was necessary to explain it.
I've had to explain double elimination to every tournament I had last year. You explain it to the people like they don't know competitive rules. More than likely at least 10 people won't know the rules.

These are the games I know. Mikey I know you'll read this correct me if I'm wrong.
CvS2 - Single Elim, standard time, speed etc. (E.Ryu O.Iori aren't in arcade version)
3s - 3 on 3 teams. Single Elim, pokemon style (if you beat someone you stay on until you're defeated)
Tekken - Wasn't it single elim?
Arcana Heart 2 was single entry, single elim.
Oh yeah, Arcana 2 will be on console by then. Run a tourney for that! Continuing..
Marvel was never at SBO, I doubt you're running KoF, and that's it. ST keeps on changing so I don't remember it.

Well I only play 3S because there was nothing else out for years worth playing. I'd rather play 3S than CvS2. My old roommate also got hella good in 3S so it was competition whenever I wanted. It's not like I'm a huge fan... if I was, I wouldn't play Alex... wwwwwwww.

Why ban them? They're not that great anyways. Unless of course it's just no one wants to shell out whatever amount to buy them on the console they're not on.
I personally don't care if they are banned or not but Yoda cannot be grabbed and automatically evades high attacks, darth vader is not much of a problem but starkiller can also evade grabs and could potentaly be over powered
Yeah, Yoda can't be grabbed, but it's not like he's a speed demon either.
No matter how you looks it at, star wars characters are gimmick characters that were put in the game for the extra "cool" factor. None of them will see another SC game.
Going on the basis that I don't consider them actual characters (nor do a lot of people I assume), I support taking them out.

I believe you sign up for Tourneys at Con, if nothing has changed from last year.
There should be sometime between sign up and the tourney, and won't hurt to ask staff in the game room about the tourneys.

Regardless, not in time for fanime anyways. I personally don't know anyone that has access to ARC System JP roms, which... is BEYOND illegal to use. It would mean someone is illegally taking the ROM from the company which is a hardcore contract breech, which is a huge deal.

No one's gonna play Melty if it's on the PS2, there are so many differences from the PC version, including timing so doing your combos is different too. I didn't experience it myself but many transitioning from the PS2 found themselves relearning their combos. Last year it was a surprise to hear that it was a Melty PS2 tourny... and at 8am at that.
So if it's going to be on the PS2, don't bother having it at all and use the space for another game

Unfortunately our tournament schedule is pretty much set in stone. We can't add more tournaments.

It's like a poorly done soap-opera.
And plus it a commercial game, and I can never trust commercial games.
Bah I've seen the shows, but that has little to do with the games mechanics. Though matches can take a while, but on the other hand they can be rather short at times. Plus their fun, and you can't just win with repeating combo's and the like. Even more fair if the stamina stuff is turned on, so who's the attacked has to take a break now and then and can't relentlessly attack.

SvR is based off the shows but it has no soap opera stuff unless you do story mode! SvR needs to be added please!
Just curious. Will there be a BYOPC party allowed? It would be pretty sweet if there is. All is needed is pretty much monitors and a place to put our rigs. Other than it, what type of pc set up is going to be at Fanime?
