Video Programming / Re: Live-Action Suggestions

Last Friends - You absolutely MUST show this one. It stars many familar cast members from Nodame Cantabile (including Nodame aka Ueno Juri herself). It covers many life issues like DV (domestic violence), homosexuality, and the limits of friendship. If any new drama should be included, this is the one.

Oh yeah, there's also a dorama adaptation of Watase Yuu's Zettai Kareshi (Absolute Boyfriend), so I'm sure you'd want to include that as well.

I was Tomoyo (winter uniform) this year, and the only other Clannad character I saw was a Nagisa. If there's a fairly decent gathering this year, I may consider recycling my cosplay (or make the summer uniform in celebration of Tomoyo After).

Yeah, I was also thinking of waiting until Actress Again comes out and go as one of the new characters. But if not, I'll just go with the original plan.

I'm a total MB noob (button mashing huhu), but I might just hover around the Game Room to watch a few battles. P:

Oh yeah... there's also that other Type-Moon anime... Kara no Kyoukai? The got a few Tsukihime references in there.

Any seiyuu from the Macross Frontier series would be sexcellent.
Especially Nakajima Megumi.

Oh, I thought you meant anything cosplay-related, since you addressed cosplayers specifically, lol. I buy mostly things that are hard to find at the Dealer's Room (certain seiyuu CDs/DVDs, merchandise from obscure anime/games, etc.) I'd only buy manga/anime online if they are cheaper than what I'd see in the Dealer's Room (including shipping), which is about 20% off the retail price.

I buy mostly wigs online, since there aren't any specialty stores around to shop from, and a cheap Party City wig is just ugly. If a character has a uniform, and their uniform's patch is available online, I'd get that too.

ARIA's soundtrack is the only one I listen to up to this day. All the others I've gotten tired of.

My friend has always been bugging me to cosplay as Hisui, but if I get too lazy I might just leave my hair long and do Akiha. I'm experimenting with mascot cosplay as well, so Neko Arc is possible, too. P:

At first I thought the thread title said Lolified Characters, which probably isn't a bad ide-- *shot*

Anyway, I'm indifferent to lolita'd cosplays, but you have to admit that Naruto "lolita" has awfully tacky colors, and lolita is a fashion more than a cosplay...

Then again I find it funny that "lolita-fied" cosplay is shot down, while gansta Mario characters were not. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a hypebeast style cosplay soon.

Akiba > any con in terms of swag, so my trip to japan this year was the highest tier on that aspect. :P

Anyway, since I didn't go to AX this year (which was replaced by said trip), I'll say it's definitely who you hang out with that determines how much fun I have IMO. A con can have the best guests in the animeverse, but it will still suck if you go alone. In a sense, I can't really put AX above Fanime, or vis versa since I got to hangout with cool people either way. ;o

On a side note, didn't Yoko Ishida come to this year's AX? BAAAAAAAAWWWWW

Bring a Nintendo DS to next year's Masquerade. Pictochat was blazing with various amusements that night.

I DID hear about the epic Picochat session during masq (from /cgl/ lol), but unfortunately I only got a DS recently since my birthday is after Fanime. Unfortunate, but I'll remember to bring it next year.

I think this is going to be a hot-button topic: the balance between fairness (meaning open up the Masquerade to all skits, no matter how many) and what's best for the audience (your idea of filtering) at the Masquerade.

As long as it isn't something like AX's masquerade show, where you have to have won a cosplay award before to be eligible to even entering.

I wonder if there's a possibility of organizing this again next year, but with the 4th kumikyoku (or whichever is the latest by then) and with more people. That'd win on many levels.

Mix is hot, btw. ;o

I had a hard time getting Meet the Guests reception tickets. All the info booths either didn't know where to get them or pointed me in wrong directions. I guess this isn't exactly Guest Relations fault, but there should be a reason why info booths weren't fully informed about this...

I pretty much gave up on the weekend in terms of guests panels/events and had more fun with friends instead.

Did anyone film this? I didn't get to see it and it'd be really awesome if was uploaded somewhere. ;l

Kozue Amano (mangaka for ARIA). Since TP renewed the license and Right Stuff are releasing the series overseas... It'd be really cool. Seriously. P:

Oh, and as always, I plead for Minorin. <3

I was highly disappointed with masquerade this year (especially since I've waited in line this year longer than any of my previous cons), but I suppose that is not Fanime's fault. I don't want to sound mean, but maybe there should be a round of preliminary judging to "filter" out skits that definitely wouldn't win, or at the least entertain the audience. The combination of 3 skits consisting of only Hare Hare Yukai really did it for me.

I'm surprised the Marvel v.s. Capcom skit didn't get best of show; so many people around me stood up and cheered at the end of that one. I also enjoyed the opening acts for masq. more so than previous years.

With video programming, I don't know if it's just me, but I found that there weren't many great shows to watch. My friends are big dorama fans, so they were pretty disappointed with Asian Film's selection.

Other than my personal hotel roommate issues; I made cool friends this year. My previous Fanimes seemed to have more ups than this year. I think you just have to be careful of what you look forward to, as there are no guarantees as to how they will play out.

I'm aiming to do an undine cosplay from ARIA (Athena-sempai maybe?)
I await what new anime will follow.

Ooh! I'll be sure to look out for him. I originally planned to be Hatsune Miku, but I didn't have enough time so I had to scrap it.
