It started raining here (Los Banos) at about 2:30am last night. It actually wasn't all that bad--light rain at the most. But I thought it was a nice break away from all the heat waves we've been having. I like cold weather also, just...>.> Not TOO cold. I think it's about 70 here right now and it seems perfect. :D

I know what you mean! The sun is sorta-kinda out over here, but it's extremely windy... a good balance. =D

I know it's getting to be that time of year, but I was pretty surprised with how hard it was raining here in Fremont.
It's just been so hot for such a long while, it feels like forever since I've seen the rain.
I'm a bit thankful since I like cold weather, but I'll sure miss the sun.

Money money money!

It seems there's a lot of 'be more sociable' promises. ; )

- I promise not to let friend drama get to me. It always puts me down.
- I promise to try and get over my fear of large crowds and go down to the con alone.

- I already shower every day, but I promise to keep that going. xD

- I promise to try and catch some new animes in the video rooms this upcoming year.
- I promise to ENJOY my Fanime this upcoming year. What's the point of going if I'm going to let friends make me miserable?

I miss our old house.
I clearly remember the hideous backyard and running up the huge stairs to my room.
Even the fireplace we never used.
But it's sorta because of that house that I have a fear of windows. xD

You would think people on the Fanime forums would play Vesperia.

Vesperia so far is probably on my top 3 of the tales games. I've played all of them to date, Phantasia PSX remake being #1, Symphonia 2, Vesperia 3. I haven't beaten it mind you, so it may change.

The battle system in Vesperia is similar to that of Symphonia/Abyss'. 3D based, over the 2d platform(I honestly prefer the 2D but they did well with the 3D version). It doesn't suffer from the same retarded AI that Abyss had thankfully. Your partners don't die in 10 seconds if you play on hard mode, and are smart enough to run around and kite enemies when they are weak(granted you have a strat set to let them do so). There's a major change in that, you can do huge ass combos. I mean, HUGE combos just by yourself. The way they set up skills is that there is a way to chain skills more than just lvl1 -> lvl2 ->lvl3. They put a lot more detailing into the kind of hits each skill does and how it sets up different attackis. I.E. In earlier Tales your basic combo was neutral hit, then whatever hit was two hits(usually down or neutral) then either down or neutral again then lvl1 special -> lvl2 -> lvl3. Now combos are capable of doing... neutral x3 Lvl1 skill that launches, while falling attack Lvl2 special in the air that brings you down, 2 hit juggle into a different level 2 special that brings them to the ground , 3 more hits while floating them, into level 3 special that pushes them back.

To be honest though, it's hard as hell to do something like that, but it's possible. The new limit break system is much better as well. The chaining of moves infinitely is done a lot better.

The story is interesting. I like this run of characters more than any game. A protagonist, that is not a wuss, a total asshole, but still right minded is great for a change. None of this "I AM A GOOD GUY!" crap.

There is a flaw so far in the dungeons, in that, they're pretty crappy. The designs of the dungeons so far have been poorly done, overly simplistic and just boring.

The bonus cutscenes are nothing special, not as good as Abyss' but a better than Symphonia's(I'm a little bias with Abyss though, Momoi is cheating).

Like the others, no dual audio. Some of the voices are pretty bad, others are actually really good.

Dude my con plans were so sketchy this year. >_< I'm not even joking. I had roommates one minute then none the next. My best friend ended up staying with me instead of with her roommates. It was random madness. I suggest bringing peanutbutter and jelly (and bread) oh and a box of cereal. It helps with some of the food expenses. ANd you can always make ramen in the coffee maker. I have proof of this.

Oh, yes! Of course.
But they have a tendency to... not really share the refrigerator.
That's why I'm hoping to have enough money to get my own room.
Or bunk with people nice enough to, uh, share. :/

I had a deck of Full Metal Alchemist cards stolen from me once.
This was around the first time I went to Fanime.
I didn't trip (I was sad, sure), but had money to spare so bought another deck. xD;

It's so uncool to steal. It's unfortunate that con-goers would have the intention to do such a thing.
I don't bring valuables to Fanime, save for cheap jewelry and whatnot.
And when I do bring something special, I wrap that stuff up nice and tight and put it in my bag.
Most special valuables don't get touched unless I'm in the hotel room.
And they don't leave the hotel room either.
