OK!

Heres news you'll all LOVE :D I UPDATED! WHEE :D Haha xD but Yeah, you know the drill. Lulu is in her own world and will porbably mess someting up, so if she does, tell her xD Haha

Also! Who would like me to bring chocolate for the people who chill with me after the photoshoots? Or if we have a picnic, ill bring tons of candy xD Anyone in for it? I wanna know how much people would like a picnic xD

I would LOVE to do the picnic! I make some pretty awesome sandwiches (they're seriously stacked... my friends call them Scooby-Doo sandwiches); and since I'm already going to be making some for my hotel-mates, I'll be happy to make and pack some for anyone that wants 'em (trust me, you'll only need one per person!). Just let the Whitney with the pink backpack know what you want (I'm not sure what kinds of meat, cheese, and condiments we'll be buying - I'll tell those interested at the gathering - and I usually only use wheat bread). ;D

Wow! That's pretty awesome work; how long did it take her?

I require hugs from the Joltik. No joke. Joltik/Gavantula was pretty much the deciding factor for me about getting Black/White.

Whitney is roughly 75% complete; I just recently turned my favorite pair of jeans into her shorts, and am buying some of my other materials later today (painting the shoes is going to be FUN...not. :x).

And my Miltank has been brushing up on her moveset for some added fun (so far, we've perfected Tackle, Body Slam, Milk Drink and Stomp. We're working on Rollout, but so far... it's not going so well! XD). Would anyone be interested in "live battles" (action photoshoots)?

We're even going to carry around a couple of bottles of "Moo Moo Milk" (probably Silk Vanilla Soymilk).

I'm going to be a lone Smoker; my friend and her sister have bowed out entirely.
Awww noo smoker :c
You need some survivors?
I'm going to be zoey, and my boyfriend is going to be louis xD

That would be awesome. 8D I'm especially hoping to get some other Infected together for photo shoots outside the gathering; probably on the stairwells between floors (either Hilton or Marriot). Survivors wouldn't hurt, either!

I have a friend that's going to be cosplaying as Cody (as he appears in Super/Street Fighter IV). He's concerned about the chain - whether or not he'll be allowed to be chained (it only affects his arms), or even if he'll be allowed to have the chain at all.

Now, I've looked over the costume and weapon policy; I doubt the chain (since it only affects his arms, not his legs or the rest of his body) will restrict movement, so I don't think he'll need a handler. And the weapons policy doesn't mention chains (not that he'd be using these as a weapon; but they're handcuffs; while not free-flowing chains, I could see where it'd be  a concern).

After 2009, I've made it a key factor to put a bag of some sort into my cosplay props; last year, as a Final Fantasy III Thief, I utilized a small drawstring bag, and kept my badge, a water bottle, my wallet, room key, business cards I picked up, and other random knick-knacks in it. MUCH more useful than trying to shove everything into the small trenchcoat pockets I had in a previous cosplay.

If it's a regular bag/backpack (i.e, not easily usable as a prop/part of the outfit), keep an eye on it if you take it off during pictures. Roam with a friend you trust, and they could hold your bag when people stop you for pictures. :)

I think this could actually be quite useful, as others said, for the purposes of photoshoots. I'd attend.

I had a LOT of fun in a Rorschach cosplay at Fanime 09; partly because I stayed in character. It really made the experience that much more fulfilling, at least, for me - and I'd like to think anyone that dealt with me had a little fun.

This year, I'm going to need to be far more bubbly, though hot-headed. It's going to be fun.

Ok, so your boyfriend doesn't know who he's going to be?

Nah, he's to be stricken from the gathering. Spoil-sport.

As long as this gathering is done at LEAST an hour after the Pokemon gathering on Saturday (which is 11am), my Infected pals and I should be ready. One small change is that boyfriend decided to opt out of Nick. We're trying to convince someone to be either a Coach or yet another to be a Louis. Maybe we'll get both, if we're lucky.

But with the team of three make-up artists I've getting, it shouldn't take more than an hour for me to be Smoker-ised.

11am Saturday should be fine for me. I just hope to god the Valve gathering isn't planned for the same day (or if it is, WAY after this one), because getting into my Infected make-up is going to be a lengthy process.

No posts in nearly 2 weeks... hope I'm not causing a problem!

I'm currently working on a Roxy Richter cosplay; a hybrid of the movie & novels (because I really didn't want to leave out her katana... and the idea of running around in what are essentially short-shorts bothers me...)

Some friends of mine are thinking of being Lucas  Lee stunt doubles, and another is toying with Matthew Patel. But don't list them; they're not set in stone.

simply put please remember -- that ALL of the staff positions including the Executive Staff / chairs are volunteer positions.
remember we're by fans and for fans...

with that in mind - please understand that even the request of having registration, hotel reg, and website--- we cant just wave a magic wand and make it happen...

all i can ask/comment is that you please be patient and diligent on checking the website, twitter, facebook and other Fanime Contacts in order to get the information you obviously and extremely eagerly crave.

if you still think that the staff is not living up to your expectations... your completely welcome to your opinions, but we ask that you be respectful and understand that patience is a virtue... and FanimeCon is a privilege NOT a right because your a bay area anime fan.
if you still think more changes are needed then join staff and make a difference --- that is if your the proper age to join staff.
if not, then enjoy FanimeCon for what it is, and not judge something just because its not within your control.

back on topic --- As Kyra mentioned the staff hopes to have Hotel Registration and the new Fanime 2011 website as soon as possible.
and as always as with anything epic is worth the wait and a little gratitude and appreciation goes a long way.

I don't personally think OP was being demanding or snippy, as the tone of your post infers. Rather, I think they had a legitimate question. I know I have friends that have been breathing down my neck for the prospective dates - and I've never even staffed! xD

But yes... to beat a dead horse: the best thing you can do is check every few days, especially starting in December. I have a feeling that since Pre-Reg has now opened online, it's only a matter of time before hotel registration begins. ;3

Currently working on some female L4D/L4D2 infected (we may or may not have a female Boomer). Also Nick from L4D2 (more than likely).

Myself as a female Smoker (as rendered by Zarla of deviantart.com), a friend as a Boomer (still waiting on her confirmation - I showed her what the female Boomer looks like, and she was hesitant to confirm), and her sister as my Hunter (as rendered in that aforementioned picture URL). My boyfriend will most likely be Nick.

I just hope the Valve gathering will be on the same day as any Rock Band tourney that may take place; we're going to perform... and I really don't want to be Smoker more than one day: the makeup will take HOURS to put on, and I'm sure it'll take forever to get out of, as well.

I'm going to be Whitney, a friend is going to be my Miltank (because I couldn't find anyone willing to make a plushie D:!), and yet another friend is cosplaying Jasmine. 2011 is going to be FANTASTIC.

Some friends and I are doing assorted FF cosplays:

We've got one Berserker (FFV), one Dancer (Male, FFV), a Black Mage (FF... do I really need to specify? XD Classic BM!), and I'M going to be cosplaying as Refia, Thief job class, (FFIII).

Be sure to check us out if there's a Rock Band Freestyle this year; our band is 'The Final Fantasy'.
