Hotel and Facilities / Re: Fanime Room Keys
June 01, 2011, 12:17:10 PM
We were at the Hilton and one of our keys worked perfectly, but the other had to be inserted three or four times to get it to read properly. It wasn't a huge hassle, but at three in the morning it got a bit tiresome.

When I checked out, I put the keycards on the counter and the woman just smiled and pushed them back to me and said "What are we going to do with these? You keep them as a souvenir." It made me chuckle.

I'm allergic to most Axe smells T_T It's so icky.

I love Old Spice too - it's such a classic. I know a lot of guys think it smells "old" but to me it just smells comforting and timeless. It's been around forever because it's never going to go out of style!

Glad to hear it!

Can you call or text them? It might be a bit quicker/more direct than email.

Yeah, that will totally get us to donate to your cause. This was misguided. Deal with it.

I agree with Pyron.

This person has one post, and like he pointed out, she's not even collecting for herself. Would you walk into a store and just start asking people for money in a situation like this (just random asking - not legitimate soliciting for a licensed charity), simply because the store sold items that were of interest to you and had similar people in it?

Why is this any different? I admit if it were a regular poster and member of the community I might be less judgmental, but coming in here and asking total strangers for money for a situation like this... I'm pretty sure most of us know at least one person currently living with serious medical issues we're probably better suited to help financially.

Would it be obnoxious of me to say I don't really have a budget? I got back about thirty-five hundred dollars in taxes, a chunk of it when to plane ticket/hotel, I've put aside about 500 for food, and the rest is in a "use as needed" fund. ><''
Well you can Always SAVE the money and go to more cons XD

I'm actually going to NYC with some friends in a few weeks, hopefully. Not for a con, just for a vacation.

I'm not cosplaying but I'll be in the bay area for nearly two weeks so I've got a lot of clothes for varying weather, gifts for friends, and medical supplies to drag along with me so that takes up a ton of room.

I've got one full-sized rolling suitcase, one small duffel for the medical stuff, and a backpack for my carryon ><'' I've packed about as efficiently as I can, but unfortunately I don't really have the luxury of just tossing a few shirts and pairs of pants into a bag and being done with it.

I'm not sure if they can do this for blood donor clinics, but when I have to go for blood tests I ask for a butterfly valve to be put in my forearm, rather than a regular needle in my elbow. My veins are very prone to collapse, and this method is less painful and less likely to cause me problems. It doesn't hurt to ask!

I love thunderstorms, so I wouldn't complain if we got one.

However, wtf at flying from eastern Canada to California only to be colder there than I am here XD

Aaaa, how adorable! I hope I can find you while you still have some.

You'll get a cool sticker and colored arm band, and if you come and find me while wearing a sticker or armband I'll give you a Cthulhu for President button.

DO IT

T_T Can I have one anyway just because I'm whiny and useless?

On behalf of the useless sickies, thank you!

I can't give blood myself cause of my stupid heart problems but it cheers me up to see so many people excited about this.

Thanks, I'm glad I made some sense! I was worried people would think I was nuts.

I think in the case of the two you've shown, so long as you maybe sort of gel/spray your bangs to get that wispy separated look, it would work.
