QuoteOkay, the rates next year will be going up and down, counting on what you are looking for...

Double/Double rooms will be going up at the Hilton and Marriott. Hilton will now start at $109 for a double/double, doesn't matter if it is for one or four bodies, the same price. Marriott will be doing the same pricing, only they will be starting at $119 per room.

King rooms for both hotels will be decreasing to $85 per night.

Crowne and St Claire prices have not been agreed upon yet, but we are working on it.

Personally though, just in case, I'm not budgeting anything until the actual official housing reservations go up. $85 a night would be fecking awesome, but it seems almost unreasonable (too good to be true, anyone) considering it's less than half the standard rate of a king room at the Hilton for that timeframe, so I'd understand if the prices go up a bit before they're set in stone.

Beeswax is also a great way to give a lot of stiff spiky texture. And it smells good too!

The Body Shop makes some decent stuff.

Yeah, but I was guessing maybe he forgot (or neglected) to include the taxes.

Stupid taxes T_T

Quote from: "~~Loktera~~"For $340 all weekend...

How did you figure that out? :?

I'd say it's a rather complicated math process thingie.... I don't fully understand it myself to be honest... My best guess would be that it is just that ... a guess...

4 nights at $85 a night?

Hrm.. those are both things I was rather looking for. Size isn't really an issue, since we'd be two people.

Does the Sainte Claire have a pool, or smoking rooms? I couldn't find reference to a pool on their site, or any mention of smoking either way (entirely forbidden or smoking rooms or what..)

It's a cute-looking hotel, and the free wireless everywhere is a nice bonus. It'd depend on how much the rooms end up being though.

Hotel and Facilities / hotel room question
November 24, 2006, 05:35:10 PM
They both have suites, which generally have one bedroom, and one sitting room/dinette, where the sitting room has a sofabed.

I don't know if they have any with two full bedrooms and a common room, but most big chains have at least a couple like that. I doubt there will be special con pricing for them though, since they're usually at a premium.

Quote from: "Moonblossom"Does anyone know if they charge for wireless access in the rooms? I know the Marriott is $9.95 a night! o.O

I don't recall the Hilton having wireless access in the rooms at all.  They have an ethernet port you can use (yes, you have to pay per night for it) but when I did a search for wireless networks from my room there weren't any.  There is the free wireless downstairs, though, a nice perk.
O blargagg :(

Though I suppose it's not the end of the world. The primary reason I'm greedy for teh intarnets is to talk to my best friend, who (barring some sort of massive catastrophe) will be in the room with me anyways.

Great, thanks. That significantly impacts my hotel descision. Heh.

The comforters at the Hilton are sort of hideous (Toucan Sam's bathroom floor after a night of too many Mai Tais anyone?), but the smoking rooms are a big plus.

Does anyone know if they charge for wireless access in the rooms? I know the Marriott is $9.95 a night! o.O

Panels and Workshops / 4chan panel?

Quote from: "lyricaldanichan"voted YES

We need 4chan panel! even better if there is a panel with 4chan vs gaiaonline! OOOOOOHH!H!!

Noo! I'd be totally conflicted T_T I'm addicted to both.

I'd totally go to a 4chan panel if it didn't conflict with the Gaia panel

King rooms are generally intended for two people, possibly three if you ask for a rollaway. The beds may be big, but the rooms might not. If you're housing a group, for safety, legality, and security, you might want to consider a suite of some sort.

I know the Marriott is entirely non-smoking, but does anyone know if the block of rooms Fanime gets at the Hilton contains any smoking rooms? Cause that would be rather grand. Or could I just request one?

L0cke cosplays as himself a lot. I remember at AX05, he'd gotten a straight jacket on eBay, and he was so happy about it.
He's so weird ><

And Krnchichiri, no, no, I'm not obese. Just a bit squishy around the midsection. But I still wouldn't feel comfortable in a little tiny cutoff top. Or a crazy leather bondage getup, either. ;P

I'm coming from Canada.

I would totally recognize Jinx! I think it'd be an awesome costume :D

I'd like to dress as Vanessa if I wasn't such a chub. I've got the boobs for it, but her waist is like, half the size of mine. >(

Can we dress as those kooky and sexy Gaia mods?

In all seriousness, I do plan to cosplay as my avatar on the day of the panel, and if I'm working in the Gaia booth. I recently bought a purple furisode and I already have a gold/orange obi, they look very much like the Orchid kimono or whatever it's called. :D
