I was planning on cosplay a nightelf from World of Warcraft...is this considered indecent exposure?

Here's a picture reference of her..

Our rule of thumb on that one is whether it covers all "private areas" at least as well as a bathing suit would and does not allow details to be discerned through the fabric. It looks like it'd be fine provided you take measures to ensure you won't fall out or accidentally flash anyone.

alrighty, thank you so much! i didn't want to finish the armor to find out I couldn't use it >.<;; I actually am using a bathing suit so it is for sure fully covered and lined! :D

how do I do that, is it a preliminary type of thing before I can sign up?

Please read the rules, it's all explained there:
http://www.fanime.com/cosplay/#masquerade

soooo the cosplay spectacular is not the same as the walk ons? For a cosplay group, we need to all submit pictures to the judges of our costumes? Do I only need to register for a time frame for judging before the masquerade?

also, it says you have to make your own costume--one of the cosplayers in my group is a suit, is that allowed?
thanks again

I'm not sure if this has been asked already but how do we sign up for the "catwalk" portion in the beginning? not the skit, but where we would just walk up then leave? do we sign up for that the same time that masquerade sign ups are happening?

thanks =]

Yep, same time. You MUST be judged for Crafsmanship if you want to do this though! :)

This is the first year that I'll be experiencing Day Zero, pretty excited :D

Many people say it's been overdone but I was just wondering who was planning on attending as a FFVII character since I am putting together a cosplay group and need a few more peeps.

These forums are so big! -_- I hope I put this in the right place..

I'm pretty sure this is in the right forum, so...

...I am looking for characters from the famous final fantasy VII series

If your interested, please message me! or send me an email at [email protected]

thanks :)

The event last year was huge of epic proportions! and not to mention hot :P But still fun, and it was great to see everyone coming out to support such a wonderful game series :)

I'm actually part of an entire Final Fantasy VII cosplay group this year :) So we may come by whenever the gathering is scheduled.

Good luck on your hosting! I bet the show up of this gathering will be even bigger than last year!!!

Hmm what an ingenious idea!

I will be going as these, if everything stays according to plan

Lightning (from FFXIII), and Odile (the evil black swan from the story, Swan Lake, wearing pointe shoes and all!), and a princess

Oh, while I'm here, can someone help me find a suitable substitute for styrofoam to use for head bolts? The styrofoam was easy to shape, but to try and smooth and prep for spray painting was impossible. I'm looking for like a lightweight wood cylinder or a small paper box I could modify into a bolt shape. I'd really prefer them to be as smooth as possible.

Here's the character I'm doing:

also! If you use model magic over the edges and the bolts, it'll give it the smooth look you are searching for! :D

Thank you! One question though, can I straighten wig hair and not burn it?

@Nana: I used a really useful primer that was liquid and I painted on (it's safe for styrofoam and doesn't break it down.) it's called Delta Ceramcoat "All Purpose Sealer" it's the Prep one and it's clear and in a white bottle.

I got it at my local Joanne's Fabric store, you could probably also get it at Michaels or some place similiar!! I would also recommend using acrylic based paint (folk art works really well) and it spreads easy and it won't melt your styrofoam! Hope this helps!
