I think I may do a segment on how to deal with photographers, be it figuring out how to politely decline a photo shoot, to how to go about scheduling photo shoots with good photographers for some of your costumes. Also going to talk about how to throw together a make-shift gathering of coslayers for a spur of the moment photoshoot.

Got it! I'll throw in a little section about what you should carry around with you, what you should bring and keep in your hotel room, and different ideas for how to fix costumes when things go wrong.

Panels and Workshops / Con Survival, Cosplayer Style
April 06, 2011, 10:28:41 PM
We've all heard of Con Survival panels. Most of us have even attended them. But there is always something missing. Something... big. And that is the cosplayer perspective. Con Survival, Cosplayer Style will focus on how to get through a con while juggling a bunch of cosplays, photoshoots, and groups. We'll cover everything from how to organize your cosplays in your suitcase, to how to get wigs to a con without destroying those precious spikes, to how to get quality photographers and set up photoshoots. Questions will be taken from the audience during the last 15 minutes.

Now the question of the moments is... what else would you like us to cover in the panel? Anything from specific questions, to broad topics. Let me know what you guys would like to hear!

Wait, does that mean that people who get their panels approved after April 1st, will NOT get their panel descriptions in the program guide, and only have the name of their panel on the schedule?
#25
I think they would still be in the program slifer.

11:30 and 12:00, we can do. If it's 3, then we would not be able to attend.

Is there a height restriction for a backdrop? Because we wanted to have 2 big storybooks, at 8ft tall each. Would that work?

.... Yuya. The Sebastian from the kuroshitsuji Musicals.... I now officially forgive Fanime for messing up my masquerade plans, and for any wrongdoings they may have done in the past or may do in the future. Yuya performing at Fanime..... my life is officially complete. I've been the biggest fan of those musicals FOREVER. I know every word of every song. Fanime, you've certainly outdone yourself this time. I applaud you.

So, this new masquerade timing SUCKS. My group has a lot of other costumes for Fanime, so the only day we can do Tutu is masquerade day. So we would only be able to attend a gathering if it were Sunday morning. I'm sorry! The run-through for the masq starts at 2pm, and judging is form 12-3. I'm hoping to ask for a judging slot around 1pm, so.... if you end up hosting the gathering on Sunday, I would say 11? But it's up to you guys, and hopefully my group will be able to make it.

There were several different Hetalia panels that were submitted, from what I've heard. Which Hetalia panel was the one that got approved?
#32
Just so you know, the panel submission form is up! You need to hurry and get your idea in ASAP, as in, tonight! From past experiences, the panel queue fill sup REALLY fast. And I know there are others who wanted to do this type of panel, so you really have to sell the Con Staff on how well you can do it.

It's Kate. xD Remember me now?

0.0 I totally can't wait for this! Especially since it's you two who'll be hosting. I know we're in for a bunch of laughs! I'll be the creepy Russia sitting in the back of the room and staring at you guys. xD Good luck!

We don't know when pre-judging is going to be this year, and sadly, we probably won't know until about 2 months before the on. My group has mentioned to me that they won't be cosplaying Tutu any other days because everyone has so many other plans. I would say 11 or noon would be the best time for the gathering. Anything after 2 is going to be too late, since I believe that is rehearsal time for the masquerade, and we are going to have to attend due to having lots of big props to practice getting on stage.

Ideas and Suggestions / Re: Late Night Mystery Event
January 04, 2011, 08:57:10 PM
I think this is a wonderful idea, I'd love to be an NPC! My only suggestion is stay away from saturday night. That's the night of the masquerade, so most cosplayers as well as a lot of other con-goers will be watching the performances. I would suggest friday night, since that's usually the night without a big night event. Sat is masq, and sun is the Ball.

CapeSwiringGirl - Princess Kraehe
Trillian - Princess Tutu
Kiara - Raven Mytho
Jou - Prince Siegfried
Dio Delle Morte - Drocelmeyer
Monica - Princess Kraehe (White princess dress from end of series)
Mi Feng - Mytho or Ahiru
HimeNoToki - Princess Kraehe (Odile version)
Narutaisho - Fakir
Zexi - Princess Tutu
Sinead - Princess Kraehe

Yeah, Chibi's no longer our Princess Tutu, so you can cross her off. But aside from that, you seem to have everyone.

Ello! Okay, so we have our final list of who's going as who. xD Instead of what I told you earlier, some roles have changed. This is who we have, and we will 100% be there, so long as the gathering is at a convenient time.

Princess Tutu - Zexi
Princess Kraehe  - Sinead
Princess Rue (Ballgown) - Monica
Raven Mytho - Kiara
Prince Sigfried - Jou
Fakir - Narutaisho
Drocelmeyer - Dio

I would disagree. Some of the costumes aren't very easy to get in and out of, and require lots of fashion tape -coghkrahecough- So I would think the best option is to hold it at around 11-12 am on saturday. That way it won't interfere with the masquerade times, but people won't have to change into the Princess Tutu costumes another day too.

Sounds like a great idea! Everyone always loves Hetalia panels, it's amazing how popular Hetalia has become. I would love to join you, or I can just come watch if not. I've hosted panels at Fanime before, and it's always so much fun! By next Fanime, the Hetalia cosplays I'll have done are Russia, France, Estonia, and Ukraine.
