He has some decent songs on his first album, but overall I expected it to be better. They didn't really give him good songs for the first album and some of them don't even fit him.

Unless you don't like metal vocals. But to be fair, metal isn't a vocally-centric genre. I'd imagine it'd easier to listen to if you just hear the voice as some sort of woodwind-stringed-percussion instrument with a unique timbre. Personally I like metal vocals. It's like if a lion or some powerful creature from a fantasy novel are behind the microphone.
So check em out anyways! They're one of the reasons I think metal can be one of the most majestic genres outside of classical music.
