-A huge classic and jump comic's longest seller. Possibly Japan's biggest manga series beating Golgo13.

School Rumble - I find season 2 funnier, but both are great. The humor is somewhat old skool, but in a good way. It's unpredictable, random and classy.
Azumanga - No explanation here
Genshiken - Personal favorite especially since I can relate, lol
Fumoffu - It feels very basic, but bazarre and unique at the same time, solid series as many stated.
Ichigo Mashmaro - I was very skeptical of this show, but as embarrassing as it may seem, this show kicks ass. It's very light-hearted, azumanga-esk and just down right hilarious.
Kochira Katsushikaku Kamearikouenmae Hasutsujo aka kochikame - I'm not even sure if people watch this in the US. But its one of the funniest classics of all time. Highly recommended.

-Very average boy going to a very average school. Bam! something happens and hes in a effed up mess and wants to solve it but only have very average ideas. Usually involving a very cute/hot girl gets with super natural powers. Also involves another female protagonist thats usually the main character's childhood friend, creating some odd love triangle.

This doesnt necessarily make the series bad, but it feels like every school related fantasy starts off like this.

I thought the con was a blast, all the great things has already been mentioned.

Music - I thought the selection of bands were all solid.
Game room - really good selection of arcades, and lots of TVs and computers for gaming.

the list goes on.

There were some things though.

-Like people have noted, the schedule sheet wasn't looking too great. There wasn't enough to go around, and it was very hard to read. Especially the font mess up for the sunday schedule. (oh well, it happens.) but i believe the old schedule sheets were much easier to read.

-Anime selection - I think this was a bigger issue imo. There were 2 huge flaws in the selection.
One being the selection itself. I understand that there are people with different tastes and understandings toward anime, lots of hardcore fans, old skool, newbies, the works. What I don't understand is why is there series like Yugioh being shown. I would definately call some of the selections made rather "low end", and could've been replaced with more quality series that people can gain from. Maybe it was just me, but it felt like there were more empty chairs than the last couple of times I went to fanime.
My second issue is, why so many marathons? Don't get me wrong, great series were marathon-ed like honey and clovers, school rumble and bleach. But I think theres limitations on how much episodes one person can take. It might have been better if more shows were shown in pieces rather than sets of 25. People can take breaks without missing anything. It kinda sucks if someone gets tired after episode 10 and have to miss the rest.

Didn't get to see much but

Goofy Style - somewhat loud with lots of distortion. They didn't get the number of audience they deserved imo.

Swinging Popsicle - kicked ass, nothing more to say

Mothercoat - heard great things, missed it :(

Quote from: "otakuapprentice"i was dissapointed that Dolphin Blue wasnt brought back for 2006, but i have to admit this completely made up for it. it reminded me of Ikaruga, but there was alot more action going on, keepin you on your toes. this should be brought back for fanime2k7, including a return of Dolphin Blue.

agreed, with ibara and mushihime too, lol

Fufner - Heard good things, never saw an ep till the con, wow it was crap. (IMO)

I was disappointed that no one bothered to watch Mushishi, its not everyone's cup of tea but its a one hell of a series. :)

I think espgaluda is one of the tightest shooters ever created. Never seen a game with really nice background, point system and MUSIC all in one wrap. I think its a must for many shooterheads, especially new ones, as its very beginner-friendly.

I never got into it too much, but my friend was top in the scores at the game room. Some of the people who were going pretty hardcore at the game actually ended up getting acquainted at the con, which was pretty cool.

It was nice meeting some of you guys at the con. It's always a letdown when its over, like a friend has gone away, why is that?
