:D  It feels odd that something as silly as that has warmed my heart.

From what I could gather it is not so much an 'alternate retelling' but rather a remake that will keep true to the manga (like Hellsing Ultimate). 

I hadn't seen the manga but I could tell something like that was going on.  With that said though since I've no bias towards the manga I thought that this ep didn't have as strong as an impact towards the introduction of Ed as the Full Metal Alchemist and focused alot more on a brief introduction with the other important characters.  Good to see Hughs alive again though.  :P

I am unsure if I'm going to fanime this year.  Also unsure about what I might be missing if I don't go.
